Most likeely it is a hairline fracture in the metacarpals or the knuckle area. I think he will likeley be out, at a minimum, 4 weeks. The fracture itself probably doesnt hurt that much, it will be the swelling and the bruising that will hurt him.

not good. who was it that hit the scoreers table during the game?

What was the bat doing in the Pit?
marc_moffitt replied to marc_moffitt's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Maybe the bat could be put inside Scrappy's Suit and make him do something besides stand around and mope -
Does anyone have stats yet for tonight?
marc_moffitt replied to marc_moffitt's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I'm not pointing fingers at individual players, but Ben Bell (statistically) did not have a very good night. 01 Bell, Ben... FG 1-7 - 3pt 0-3 5 Turnovers 36 minutes of playing time. -

I believe Calvin Watson and Ben Bell were attempting to fly like that bat during that 1st half, going after out of bounds balls -
How did the Bat get into the pit tonight? I cant say that I have ever seen it before. It was a bat wasn't it?

Ok, maybe he isn't Mack Brown in the video, but, he wasn't talking about beating OU in that video either. I am sure that he has a "110% voice" along with a "well, you win games by scoring more points than your opponent voice" somewhere in his bag. -
Sound familiar to anyone other than me?

I may not be as good as the students, but I can get pretty rough, especially being right there on the floor wher they can see me out of the corner of their eye. -
The players probably didnt want to get "smacked around" by some no name school. They had enough of that this week

I think that there is a very good possibility that, going into Nebraska we could be 4-1 or 5-0. These next few games are must wins against Rice and Tulsa, to show that we are a team that could beat Nebraska. Overall I think, as we all know, WKU is going to be the BIGGEST game that we will play this year. They seem to be giving a lot of people some tough times this year. They will definately be the team to beat in SBC this year, and may be the team that either gets us in the Tournament or keeps us out.

So far it looks like a good number of you think that he would bring in $250-500k. That would certainly pay for him. -

I was thinking about htis tonight a the gym and wanted to see what everone else thought about it. The facts are: He's a winning coach He's Well Respected He's a "Salesman" He draws attention The parents and kids like him The list goes on and on... But I really think that, as we talk about how we are going to afford a new coach, we should be focused on finding someone who can more than pay for themselves. In business, you look to hire someone that will make you more money than they cost. I think it would be a good idea to go after someone who can bring in the CASH, and get the ball rolling on the new stadium, whic is our ultimate goal for recruiting advantage. BTW: Jim Mcinvale can KISS IT!!! -
How much CASH do you think would follow him to the college level? Business owners? Rich Dad's?

Just as a furtherance of what I was pointing to earlier, I also think Mike is a "momentum player", in that, when he gets going he is nearly unstoppable, but just a little shake up and he is off the rest of the night. I agree with what you said about he rest of the team. I would bet that JJ is working on getting these guys to be able to "feel" where their teammates are at all times. These guys have had months of time together with each other working on plays and plans, but they have not seen any action together yet, and I think it is going to take a few games to get used to each other. I think once JJ sets a starting lineup that we will see the "a" team come out and begin working together much better. It is just the first game of the season, and there are 8 more games over the next month, I think that by next month we will see a completely different team playing in front of us.

Did anyone else notice that Scrappy looked depressed last night? He wasn't dancing, he looked slouched over, head down, slow moving, ugly shirt....what's going on?

I was was on floor right next to him, I started to get excited about him and he got excited too. I was watching a Cowboys game a few weeks ago, and John Madden was talking about one of the running backs, and how, as a young player, he tried to make things happen instead of waiting for the play to work itself out and create the hole that he needed. I think Mike has a tendency to be a "hot and cold" player sometimes because of the speed at which his thoughts and moves are going. The reason I say this is, it seems that many of his plays and moves rely heavily on timing being perfect, if his timing is perfect, he looks ready to play in the NBA. If the timing of one thing gets off just a little, it can make him go cold quickly, and he looks sloppy because of it. But, on the other hand, if he can just get his timing right and focus well, I do agree, that he can be a phenomenal player this year. I really do think that he has a lot of potential, but I think that we will all agree, that he just needs to focus, and let the plays work out as Coach Jones has designed them.

How much would he cost?
