  1. http://omg.yahoo.com/tony-romos-bad-luck-charm/news/4872 This is sooooo true. I've said it all of last season. I think Jerry Jones personally should escort these bad luck babes out of texas stadium and across highway 114 into the nearest fast food joint.
  2. Can anybody at the Athletic Center show Ron Mendoza the door, please...... I mean the season is over and Dodge's staff has had so much bad news in their first year.
  3. After completing Fouts Field, I bet they couldnt get contracts to build stadiums anymore. Seriously, I bet they went on to do what they were destined to do and that is building playgrounds in grade schools across the state.
  4. These teams wanted to play us We were set to play Miami at their new stadium and AF was going to come to Denton and be our marquee game of the season.. Wins and Losses speak louder than words and contracts..... I hope we dont schedule Div 1-aa teams and can at least play a decent OOC opponent.
  5. Great write up on Jerry Moore... A class-act and great football coach... Wish him all the best and luck for App. State what a great year so far. Didnt know he coached Tech, wow

  7. Mendoooooza would still find ways to lose those game as well. FIU in my eyes is a DIV 2 team.... I still can't get over the fact we gave up 40 to FIU and they had a new QB who never snapped a ball before..
  8. Atlanta had alot of problems... Who would want to coach Arkansas, wait he's getting a big fat check....
  9. Yes I did mean college level.
  10. Well TD bringing RM as the DC with no proven experience in such a role was a very bad judgment decision to begin with. His decision to bring back RM as our DC after a worst than disastrous season is even more bizarre. Bad decisions and judgements, and no successes on the field equals a coach being fired, that is always the case. Let time run it's course and let's see what happens, if this becomes the case I will certainly have no sympathy for a coach who can realize a problem but refuses to fix it. It waste the time, talent, and money of the university he is employed by. If the stadium RFQ is any indication how fast this athletic program is wanting to go, I think TD time might be even more limited, as RV might have him on his radar.
  11. Oh snap Toilet Bowl lol
  12. Maybe this could be completed in 2009.... Please tell me one more year in Fouts... Can we have it done like in any part of 2009, even in November, I just want hope.
  13. WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  14. I forgot about the water tables, I do remember that was an issue in the past...TxDot is still going to take a long time... I was just reminding myself about the depicted stadium renovation that Villareal had for Fouts when he first came here, also we didnt acquire Eagle Point at that point when this was conducted.... Im just trying to see if there is any Hooooope for bringing this idea to life sometime soon, and have a groundbreaking set for a certain date and time.... I heard from the interim business dean at the college of business tent during homecoming that there will be a groundbreaking for a huge 200,000 sf business bldg that will occupy where kendall and highland halls are now. It will be a state of the art building, with numerous auditiroum classrooms, national fast food chain, and also lounge for students. Quick fact, UNT has more business students than any ever school in the U.S., with over 5,000 students... Too bad I wont get to enjoy this new bldg, as I will graduate...by the time it opens. Wish I had some news about new stadium but I dont, maybe those guys with the suits were out of state developers who saw the land wasnt being used for anything and wanted to build apartments.
  15. I was walking this evening towards the Gateway Center to do a presentation for my evening class and I took a good hard look at Fouts Field and thought the following things. 1. Our stadium is in a good location, wtih great access for students to attend game, as opposed to the new site where students who have a long walk. 2. The new facade on the stadium looks great and makes it a alot more presentable and very close to our nice big coliseum. 3. We have a big jumbrotron that makes our stadium look alot better than what is. With these in mind and putting aside my desires for a brand new stadium.... Can we remodel Fouts to be what we all want....just in the same location. Remember a few years back when the students voted to remodel Fouts to be a new stadium with box suites, 45,000 seats, and better access for fans to be closer to the field. Well about we revisit that idea, and try to put it up for a vote again, the students all want a better football stadium. I mean since the last vote, students have passed the rec center, health center, and an athletic fee increase won't hurt tuition too much. Market the shit out of the idea, make t-shirts, buttons, and bumper stickers, like they did with the rec center. This is what I can see done with what we have. We already have nice great turf, we place a SOW on the 50. We take out all of the endzone stands, make a horseshoe stadium, and have a grassy hill on the other end like, SMU or Arkansas State, and let people or families picnic and watch the game from the hill. This can be done on the west side of the stadium. We make an inground stadium and make the seating come closer to the field on all sides, and the second tier is what we already have as seating. Box suites can go in where the press box is and we can make a new press box. Seating for this new field would jump from 30,000 to 45,000. A concept drawing of this was done a few years back and put in the NT daily and maybe the DRC, This was done right when RV came a few years back, if someone can find this, it would be great to post a link. In all actuality, that pic of a remodeled Fouts looked really good. Well could this be done, please don't say TxDot will come and make their service road near the home sideline, cause TxDot has been planning to expand 35 for almost 20 years.
  16. Yeah you have a really good point, we shouldn't get ourselves all worked up for nothing....We should tough it out and see what happens Let's keep all of the worries and stresses on the coaches, that is what they are getting paid to do. It was a rough season and now its over. Let's forget about football and try to support and cheer the basketball team.
  17. We had so much potential in our program that an SEC offensive coordinator, up and coming coach and NFL star, and a former NFL coach wanted to come here to Denton, Texas to take UNT to the next level. They showed interest in coming to NT and bringing real knowledged COLLEGE assistants to aide in our coaching program.
  18. You know I predicted that UNT would probably lose to FIU, didnt post it or announce it, but considering what we have accomplished this season, it isnt that much of a suprise. We ended the season losing to the worst football team in America, they used use to snap their losing steak like a frat boy uses a drunk girl off of fry street to snap his own losing streak. Wow.... Not only did we shoot ourselves in the foot for this disastrous season but we also caused so much long-term damage. - Forget about getting a football stadium for a loooooooong time. No wonder we have been in Fouts for so long. - Goodbye to whatever recruits we had lined up for 2008 and beyond. - The last game of the season at Fouts had only 500 people in the stands. More people were at local 2A and 3A Playoff games, come on people we have some of the best high school coaches in the state right here at UNT, why would you go anywhere else. -The damage done to our defense is so severe that a once proud defensive team has now slumped to worst in the nation, so bad that even our own fans an find the flaws in our DC schemes. - I keep telling everyone this because I grew up watching NT, NT is known for having a cosistent strong defense, ALWAYS..... - Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to field questions about how my still GREAT Alma Mater is losing worst than ever before. - I continue saying what I have said this entire season, this is the worst PRODUCT that has been put on the field at North Texas. We had an OL and QB Problem last year, now the entire team is in need of repair, thanks to AMATEURS that have taken over this program. The BLAME: The Head Coach blunts the blame, he hired the assistants that produce what we see on the field. Just like with Darrell Dickey: None of this is going to change unless the Head Coach is shown the door, he has already proven this by giving Ron "No Clue" Mendoza the invitation to return next season for a encore performance of Coach Dodge has no intention of making the obvious adjustments needed to correct the situation, for that, he does not deserve to be a coach in college football. Coach Dodge says that Ron Mendoza is the best Defensive Coordinator he has ever seen. Do you know what is really scary, I think he actually believes it.
  19. I cant be at the game because of a bad cold. but am listening on the radio..... This has got to be the worst product North Texas has ever put on the field. All Players and Coaches Included..... Cant bear to hear us losing to a Div 1-AA team.....at home.... With the amount of progess we have made throughout this learning experience season, I think that this is what we can come to expect for the years to come.
  20. Wow what a great season..... Whoa........ Cowboys and Packers.... Really wished they played on Turkey Day.
  21. Oh no, Dickey will not get the SMU job, but he sure would love to have it, instead of being in Utah, sorry Jaydub.... He used to coach at SMU and is from Texas
  22. Dickey is 5-0 against NMSU, which was a decent program in 2002.... 4 times at UNT, and once now with Utah State, and maybe might get a shot at them again, as the new SMU coach. Dickey is sooooooooo applying for the SMU head coaching job. Talk about a SMU-UNT rematch game.... Wow
  23. It seem like every unknown team has upset a big dog on their home turf the last few years, especially this year. When will NT see it chance to be in the spotlight, I think that we might see this in a couple of year but who might be North Texas first victim? I think the biggest upset win we have had of recent is Cincy, not so much Baylor as they dont even deserve to be in the Big 12. I always thought North Texas could beat Texas A&M, but we never do schedule them, they look so inconsistent and in desperate need of an ass-whopping by the Mean Green. Also if Franny Tranny goes to SMU, could there be anymore reasons to hate SMU even more....
  24. Wow they are beating them in Alabama. I hate Nick Saban, huge loss for Alabama
  25. Real sloppy game.... by both sides.... we were leading by a comfortable margin but always allow the other team the opportunity to come back.... Lets hope this gets fixed.
