  2. http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/021810dnmetdfwconnector.408e9db.html Can somebody tell me why an entirely funded $1 billion highwway project will turn into a damn toll road. It seems like every new road or highway that is going up is becoming a NTTA Toll road, when is this going to stop. The way things are going I bet new driveways into retail businesses will some how manage to charge a toll.
  3. Yup America is very represented in Canada, we seem to have alot of good talent in all of the major categories and this should reflect in the medal count. Great Olympics thus far, its really difficult to put something like this together, but the positive thing is that Vancouver isnt too far from the U.S. so there seems to be alot of Americans in attendance. Felt really bad about the athlete that was died tragically, definately put a damper on the event. Good luck to all of the athletes, defiantely made us proud. Go Curling.....
  4. Well someone obviously wasnt at the game on Saturday. Well two more home games, try to make it to at least one. We have a good squad once again this year. And yes im all about positive points
  5. Great game by our Men's team, totally showed there skills on the court and played some good D late in the game. The thing that really impressed me was how we stayed calm after Denver came back into the game and showed our true poise, Josh White, is amazing and carried the way. I think we have a good shot of making some noise in the SBC Tourney and definately have a good shot at winning the rest of our games. Another 20+ season. congrats JJ and Mean Green Basketball Team
  6. Yeah some people took my post in the wrong way, I had to provide an explanation, but oh well. I guess I'm going to be there for a while too. Hope I can gain more points when Hurricane Season comes around
  7. I was so happy for Brian, what a great guy. That was my favorite part of the Super Bowl.... Well Leno and Letterman Commercial was a close second.
  8. Congrats to our very own Brian Waters for being named a finalist for the NFL Man of the Year Award for excellence on and off the field. A great honor and privilege to be named to the final three. Can't think of anyone better to receive this award. GO MEAN GREEN http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=ArVO4Huf.nClOu2FvVer7vlDubYF?slug=ap-manoftheyear&prov=ap&type=lgns
  9. I just got off the phone with his son, Walt Jr. and he expresses his appreciation for all of the well-wishers. This man is truly the real deal and served not only Mean Green but also the Metroplex and the Great State of Texas. One of the finest politicians this state has ever known. I also believe that Mr. Parker should be recognized in some way with the new football stadium, he not only was part of a championship lone star conference team, and a UNT HOFamer, but repaid his debt to his alma mater but making UNT the sprawling campus we see it as today. Mean Green Nation is in mourning...
  10. I was very suprised to read this as my family has been very close to the Parkers for a long time. I actually had the pleasure of visiting him during this last Christmas, as we do every year and he was doing good and we talked about UNT Football and he was excited the new stadium was going up pretty soon. Pretty sad to hear this, as the VP of Governmental Affairs since 1979, he led UNT into the modern era in my opinion. Bringing numerous new bldgs to UNT ( ESSAT and Rec Center) by going down to Austin to meet with state officials. A REAL Mean Green Fan who championed for UNT to always strive to be the best. Its too bad that only a street at UNT is named after him (leading to the Waranch Tennis Center), I hope that this quickly changes. He was actually one of the reasons why I chose to attend UNT for my bachelors and then my masters, had such a great character and would tell you things as he saw it or the way it was. http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/...3.a518cca8.html
  11. Mr. Holland has done an above average job as being a Justice of the Peace. He heard several of my landlord-tenant evictions and has done a good job in his very first term. Always starts of every case with a "Good Morning".....to everyone who comes up to the bench.......
  12. DALLAS COWBOYS : 24 Minnesota Vikings : 17 Damn the Saints looked good today, was really hoping we played the NFC Championship in Dallas but guess its in NO.
  13. Damn this horrible news.... The only reason RV keeps Dodge and Co. here in North Texas is because were 3-0 against WKU....
  14. Playmaker is 100% behind hiring Lincoln Riley as NT's new OC.... Great Find.... Isn't sad that our GMG Posters are trying to find coaches for our beloved football program...Hope it gets the Ahtletic Dept's attention.
  15. Wow I am actually shocked.... I just logged in to GMG and Todd Ford is out at NT.... So lets get this straight, our Division I OC decided to bolt his position in a make or break upsoming season to go become a High School HC. These High School coaches are just going back to where they came from, so will RV still hold TD to 7-5 for next season or give him another year if he goes 2-10 because his OC left
  16. The 24,000 people at Fouts to watch us barely beat a good NMSU to go on to the New Orelans Bowl and tear down the goal posts. And also the big bowl win over Cincy.... From four straight bowl appearances to four straight losing seasons, something is not right....
  17. You know Im glad that you posted this, I read this story yesterday and it made me really angry and sad. Poor guy, perfect citizen who works in a tough job and uses his tips to help the less fortunate and is beaten down by a bunch of young ignorant punks. Man seriously I hope they get whats coming to them
  18. For UNT to actually win seven games next year and be bowl eligible and prove EVERYONE wrong, I'm totally down with not posting on GMG for a year if my MEAN GREEN can accomplish that feat. I'd exchange posting on this site for a year if we can pull seven wins, it would be remarkable.
  19. Looking back to a few months ago, this is defiantely proving to be the best year to fire a college football coach and start all over. OH WELL
  20. Seriously it really doesn't take much to make a team a winner. Especially these days. Coach Fry would have killed for the opportunity that exists today to be in a bowl game. This is our scenario. We play 12 games, eight of them are against the worst conference in FBS. The SunBelt. 4 nonconference games ( 1 body bag, 1 Good Mid major program, and 2 very winnable Mid major teams (Ohio, Akron, Rice, Ball State) You need to win 6 games to be bowl eligible, so basically win at least 2 non conference games, beat the teams that everyone else beats every single year, such as your (FIU, FAU, Arkansas State, ULM, ULL) and bam you can be in the Skittles Lumberjack Bowl played in Shreveport, LA.... You win your bowl game and you can bring in recruits that want to build upon your recent success.
  21. If this guy becomes a Texas Senator he will put his foot down and destroy the tiny bug that is NT Athletics for good....
  22. You can actually thank Rick Villareal for hiring him and actually keeping him here for a fourth year, well actually also Gretchen Bataille as well since she didnt intervene as she has no clue what goes on in College Football.
  23. Happy Birthday Ramone, enjoyed seeing you at the games this year. Have a good one.
  24. I am actually a fan of all the Michigan school since I have family all over Michigan. And I particularly hate Troy, but since UNT will get some money out of this game if Troy wins, then Go TROJANS.... Troy should win this one, wonder why this game is being played so late in the bowl season.
  25. WTF???????!!!!!!!!!!!! Something tells me you were that Freshman...
