  1. ROMO already had TWO epic Playoffs failures...It's enough
  2. The best pregame is always at any tailgating tent in Mean Green Nation A few of my favorite places in Denton are: Yummy's on University, next to Blockbuster, Texas Roadhouse of course, and Riprocks....
  3. Well at least someone is excited about being the Sun Belt. But really which team are you looking forward to UNT playing this season, FIU, FAU, or Western Kentucky...Huge rivalry potential in all three of those teams. CUSA or bust for UNT........
  4. less recruits, fans, attendance, big money donors, and rivalry games. The gift that will never stop giving.
  5. SMU's has hopes of a good football season this year????????
  6. http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictu...oe_aillet.shtml It still looks better than Fouts. No track and better view of the action on the field, not the sidelines
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzXxWTpC1CM great video for today's occasion country music was at its best during the 1990's.
  8. I love the part where we get into CUSA and Sun belt drops to I-AA status
  9. A very good post.... The City of Denton and etc. do not appreciate or give anything back to support UNT Athletics. The city of Denton does not deserve something so great as UNT in their backyard. Without UNT, Denton would just be a town not doing any better than Decauter or Gainesville.
  10. We were doing so much better with Norval Pohl as our prez and main supporter of Mean Green Athletics. He did so much for our school in such little time. Lee Jackson's little Dallas Project is not going anywhere and hopefully the entire AD staff can find jobs elsewhere, if anybody wants them.
  11. Thats why this project should have been started a long time ago, because of the rising cost of materials and labor. The main thing was to start digging and get the project underway... add more money to construct the stadium to what he have so far, what do we have so far?
  12. This will be a huge second year for Todd Dodge....to show his work out on the playing field.
  13. Fouts Field circa 1953
  14. We need baseball ASAP and were promised a program right after softball, but don't expect alot out of the officials in the AD dept. Some of the east teams in the SBC are farther than some west teams in the WAC. I would not protest a move to the WAC as I did in past times, it would be an improvement in regards to prestige and known opponents. But I am really shooting for CUSA for better conference rivals. If you think the SBC is the place to be for our program ask yourself this. " How many alums of FAU, Western Kentucky, FIU, and MTSU live among the 6 million in the metroplex. That is a big reason why we can't fill our current stadium or fund a new stadium. We need to get out of that SH*&%Y conference before we can make some noise of our own. NORTH TEXAS is the most out of place team in their own conference in the United States of America.
  15. Thank you CBL for my new background on my laptop. Replaced the Dallas Cowboys running away from dark clouds from the storm two weeks ago at Valley Ranch.
  16. It is scheduled to turn dirt once again in July, but what they have been telling city officials and residents in the city never happened. People who live along bonnie brae have complained that the mess they have caused on the land causes major draingage issues that hasn't even been looked into. Also the city had to re adjust their budget and tax revenues because of miscues given by the company. They have been dragging their feet every time they announce a date to start. This is coming from a city inspector who told me this as well as it was reported in the DRC. To be frank. Seriously. A upscale outdoor mall in the poorest area of Denton, does anyone smell another Denton Factory Stores debacle but on a much larger scale. An outdoor center will have its off days here in north texas with winter months, rainy seasons, and inclement weather. Walmart, Sams Club, and Lowes will be successfully because of the demand for cheap retail items. But Dillards, JCPennys, GAP, Ambercrombie, and other high end retailers in an outdoor mall setting will not be a smart move, they should have bought GTM demolished and built a stonebriar/vista ridge type setup. The south denton area is where all of the rich people are Southridge/Montecito/Forrestridge, not KRUM, PONDER, SANGER, and CORRAL CITY. I hope they dont think these cities or I should I say towns will bring them much business if any. I know they are building a lifecycle center with upscale apartments and houses but that will be in another 5-7 years under their timeline. Denton is definately the market but they pick the wrong spot for the shopping center, the land would have been perfect for a business park type development.
  17. Nice two-tier stadium....
  18. Here is the latest updates: Rayzor Ranch is not doing anything, they announced that they were going to turn dirt last year, then announced this past spring then announced this June and still nothing has changed at all. So basically they put out these meaningless statements even though they have the demand from WALMART, SAMS CLUB, KOHLS, LOWES to get started, but don't have the capital. Huh, reminds me of our athletic department. Cole Ranch became, Inspiration Inc, which is moving at a snail's pace, was noted in the DRC a few years ago to say that the developers approached UNT-Athletics officals to donate several hundred acres of land for UNT to develop a campus golf course. Havent even heard about this still being the case, but we all know what happens when our Athletic Department is OFFERED a donation ( i.e. Baseball program) All Industrial Projects are quickly getting started or is near completion, also include ALDI, Inc which will compete for Walmart market share in the area by adding a 500,000 sqft distribution center in denton and two new stores. 14-18 stores in the metroplex. Golden Triangle Mall is the biggest joke in Denton, the mall is going to be losing all of its current tenants to Rayzor Ranch and also the remaining stores are just kiosks and temporary stores. Little known fact about GTM, most of the small tenants don't pay rent in the mall, some of the existing stores in the mall which have failed are kept in the mall free of rent or pay minimal rental dues just to keep the mall occupancy up. The Mall needs to be demolished and a two-story mall needs to be built there so that market share doesnt go to other malls. It continues to drain Denton's economy and is an eyesore at I-35E and Loop 288. Golden Triangle Mall Rep " We are getting new exciting tenants", such as the guy in the RV in the parking lot who sells woman's purse's has decided to open in the mall or such as an office for INS. Can't wait till that piece of crap and Fouts are razed.
  19. Fantastic Idea.... I wish we could have one on the student side and the alumni side. Great Job Coach Dodge..... I wonder if everything will fall into place for the opening tulsa game.
  20. It could have been worst. At least it wasnt an A&M or SMU hat.
  21. Kentucky's brightest are actually right on in this statement. What is sad is that they are a Div 2 school and are from Kentucky..... Well add them to the list of other UNKNOWN SBC schools that are ahead of us in planning and completing their future stadium. Other schools likely to follow: Texas St., UTSA, and Lamar....
  22. There was a picture that was in the NT daily and/or DRC that showed a replica of what the stadium was to look like, it was NICE. Fouts was to have 40,000+???, luxury boxes, and a club/restaurant. It was excellent at the time, since we didnt have Eagle Point to the capacity as we do now. Man, I just can't believe it is 8 years and are going back to step 1.... That means we never really had any progress with the stadium issue this whole time. It sucks.. Gene Stallings said for us to wait to get a stadium, but not for this long.
  23. He is pro-UNT and goes to alot of the Denton functions. The incubent that lost was a former UNT engineering professor and people didnt like him like they did before, he was more academics before athletics. He was brought in because Denton is experiencing alot of growth and the city didnt know how to handle it or manage it: Golden Triangle Mall, the city didnt get involved and this slimy guy from New York bought the property and it is on its way to becoming a Flea Market. Alot of the tenants in the mall dont pay rent and are kept their to make the mall look full. Rayzor Ranch: Just drive by 380 and I-35 and you will see what two years of progress has developed, nothing.... Various Business Parks and Retail Developments: Didnt take off or are still defunct. The guy who won said he can manage the city's projects and developers in a better way and be better in dealing with the city's growth.
  24. Students will vote for the damn thing and heres why. We demolish Fouts to make more parking The last vote was before the 4 straight conference championships, including our big wins such as Baylor and Cincy The student body before was very anti-athletics, as the dorm associations and other organizations brought people out in the droves from the dorms to vote against it specifically. The original vote was to keep Fouts in take, take up more student parking, and go ahead and renovate the original stadium The new proposal is to build a new stadium and add much more parking and redevelop Fouts into more parking and academic buildings. The Athletic Dept did a horrible job marketing the idea to students, there were no tshirts, stickers, and promos at all. They should have hired the people who pushed through the health and rec center The Athletic Dept was the reason the proposal tanked. They did nothing.... and whats worst is it is now taking another 9 years to have a revote on the damn thing. So I guess it is safe to say that fundrasing to build a stadium, failed miserably once again, as did trying to get help from the BOR. So that makes it 0-3 for the AD...
  25. Why don't we have our own reactor at UNT, damn Rick Villareal
