Someone Should Go Light The Admin Tower Green!
UNT_playmaker replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
Are you kidding me it should be left on for a month.... lol Biggest North Texas Athletics has seen since the Sun Belt Championship times.... -
Hey no one is more deserving than the coach that has always been there for NT, Mr. Hayden Fry...Also I think Peterbuilt should take a close look at getting the naming rights, they are across the street and get frontage for i-35e and i-35w truckers... Legendary Coach Hayden Fry Field at the 35,700 seat Peterbuilt Stadium.....

When I talked with RV a few weeks ago about increasing the stadium's capacity he told me when the vote passed. He would work to get the stadium built ASAP. His exact words. He has waited for this for a long time and so have we. No reason to prolong the timeline to 2011. Also remember Dodge was promised a stadium for 2010 and Dodge said that was still on track.....
-
I was thinking about the same thing, 2010 does look likely... Just depends how fast the AD wants to arrange the timeline, there is no demolishing of a stadium, the final design will be available next month, the money finally there, and the land is ready to go... Im sure everyone on the board is ready to help out with a shovel and wheelbarrow to break ground.

UNT_playmaker replied to VideoEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Well I heard from someone that there was more behind it, but whats most important is the students passed the fee and nothing can stop us from building our stadium Go Mean Green -

Wrote on this thread to say Nice Try.... Wore a DSP frat shirt, as I was tailgating with them. There were alot of people wearing orange after the Texas/OU game at Fouts, though. Even a friend of mine was wearing a UT jersey to the game. My loyalities are on my cars.

Hopefully the official results are the same good news

Dr. Bataille was brought in to replace pro-athletics fmr pres Dr. Pohl and has done a fantastic job in her new job duty. She shows up to football games wearing green and thats about it, very similiar to Dr. Hurley past athletic duties. For a women that pledged to make North Texas a national recognized school, wouldnt see understand that athletics is a big part of that. Especially with her coming from North Carolina. Everyone knows the stadium issue is huge, HUGE.... The only person vocal is RV....not the person who wants to put North Texas on a fast track to being nationally recognized. I know for sometime that there has been issues between RV and Bataille as a very reliable source in the Athletic dept has told me that Villareal has had difficulties in his job function as an AD at North Texas since Bataille came here. RV has told people that there have been delays in athletic projects as the result of the change of presidents at NT. This same person told me that there was a $5 million donation made for the new stadium last November and was part of the big announcement last year, remeber that? Until Batialle convinced the unnamed donor, that the money should be donated to the academics instead of the new stadium project and it was. This was a huge part of the stadium funding project and thus left us in the situation we are in right now..... Thus no suprise she hasn't done much for this project and alot of us have now seen this

I am very aware of the time difference, but I have been predicting a win all along, but the margin keeps shrinking. I am not predicting a loss but a loss is very very possible considering the factors of greeks not voting as much, 0-6 record, and the UNT admin not promoting this at all, really. Im telling Mean Green Nation to not be suprised by a loss. To give you an example Lifer, 5 out of 60 people in my frat voted before I stopped by and this was Friday at 2p.m. I made sure that alot of them voted after I found this out, as I stayed at their house until they did and the rest were sent the mass text message. I will not go into details to what I did to make sure they voted..... ... Also alot didn't know Friday was the deadline at 5p.m., what the website was, and didnt see any promotions on campus... The greeks are close, so the same is true for the rest of the greeks. I didn't blame them because these were all true statements, I walked them through the website to go to www.untsga.com. I think it will pass by a slim margin but it is more probable that it didnt based on these solid factors. Remember I found all of this out on Friday.
-
My entire frat, Delta Sigma Phi on Fri....that caused me to have them send out a mass text, but alot of people left for the weekend at that point. They said that they weren't aware that the others frats voted in large numbers and the sororities were not involved as much as the frats. Also keep in mind that frats and sororities are SUPER busy with pomping, homecoming floats, and mixers, this is the busiest time of the year for them. Also alot of the other frats including mine saw RV at greek convocation 2-3 weeks ago and that is the only word they have heard, im actually not kidding about the vote. Also there are stadium vote signs in front of frat row, which is good, but from talking to people, people didnt vote, until i encourage them... There were some who voted NO because they cant afford to have more fees added on their tuitions.... I hope also that I am wrong, but I have a feeling the people who we expected to vote yes, didnt vote at all.....in the large droves...
-
Also I came to find out that alot of the greeks had no clue where to vote or how to.... This was addressed in the mass text message to our frat only, Delta Sigma Phi, and included the website. Major failures in getting people out to vote and promoting this thing. Also where tha F*&% was the model and why wasnt it on campus... that thing was awesome...
-
No but I did instruct my fraternity to send a mass text message to over 60 people at 3p.m. Alot of Frats did not vote at all as of Friday afternoon, whats worst is that the sororities did not turn out at all compared to the frats....Its a bad bad sign.....When I talked with RV he said we wont win without Greek support....
-
Be very very ready because I have a feeling that this might not pass.....and it is for a reason.....reason being I talked with alot of Greeks today and the majority did not vote at all.....when they were supposed to. Also: No SGA, UNT, or Athletic official has shown any optimism whatsoever this week in reference to athletic fee passing.... Usually you will hear false hope from our officials such as "Rv has faith in TD". Remember we are 0-6, the people on this board are hardcore fans, the rest of the university is not....I tried my best and so did alot of others but prepare yourself cause there are alot of factors that might cause this vote to go sour. 2 straight home blowouts to no-name teams at Fouts in front of the home crowd is icing for the cake for the opposition.

Athletic Fee Election Prediction
UNT_playmaker replied to FireFightnJoey's topic in Mean Green Football
I predict a very small percentage win at 51 % to 49% -
RV would rather watch the girls soccer team play then go to watch the football team in Monroe..... ha ha
-
It could go either way really..... If we were 3-3 or 6-0, it would be a much different scenario. Either it passes barely, or fails by a mid-range margin.....
