Yall remember Jim Jeffcoat from the glory days of the 90's Cowboys, well he resides in Plano like the rest of the retired Cowboys and has a son who is ranked the #1 HS football prospect in the country. Jim Jeffcoat was one of the good guys on the team who was family oriented and never got involved in all of the drugs, strippers, parties of Valley Ranch. He is 6'5 and 235lbs and a DE. His dad is currently the DL coach for the Houston Cougars and is pursuing his son to play for them, who ever get this guy will really luck out. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw....1504d8884.html

Newy Scruggs and the Matt guy are the two most oddly paired duo on television. I still cant believe he replaced Scott Murray, he was classy and a DFW legend. Channel 4 and Mike Doocy always have much love for UNT and shows highlights and their accomplishments, the best DFW sports guy.

Why I Want Todd Dodge To Succeed
UNT_playmaker replied to Zeleny' Orel's topic in Mean Green Football
Silver Eagle Best statement of the year..... Well said and I couldnt say any better. -
Actually I would have thought we would be favored, I mean we are playing our first home game and we had a national televised turnout against Ball State Oh well, as long as we win
-
I was thrilled that OU lost, they didnt deseve to be in the national title game last year and this is now their second straight loss. I-35 will be busy with ALOT of pissed off OU fans, ha ha.... attendance was at 76.400 This has been a really good week of college football, all of my favorites won, if only Alabama lost to Virginia Tech to lose momentum before the North Texas game, but oh well.

I have been frustrated in the past with the Athletic Department because I always expect UNT to be a bigger and better program because of its many potentials. But this time: Major Kudos to RV and others for winnable schedule, great OOC opponents, pushing along with the stadium construction, Hotel and Convetnion Center (Embassy Suites), six home games, and not having a home game during thanksgiving week, this one pissed me off the most. May God Continue to Bless the Mean Green and hopefully we can build on what we have started. By the way, its been that long since we were 2-0, I can't believe it. And Yes the Ohio game is winnable, expect a large crowd to cheer on the Mean Green. Good chance we will be 2-0....

North Texas Has A Better Win% Than Oklahoma
UNT_playmaker replied to Will to Win's topic in Mean Green Football
Alot of people are saying that tonite..... But yea its true -
This further proves why SMU never wants to be in the same conference as us, they know that they will lose against us ever season..... I dont think SMU will have anymore sell outs for a long time, especially for the rest of the season. Also keep in mind they paid June Jones millions to come to SMU, millions, tonite is a result of a another bad investment on SMU's part. Wonder if that will be taught in the Cox School of Business

Great Points, Emmitt, I was thinking the same thing, we could have had over 40 points without the mistakes that were made but it will especially help our freshman qb and the rest of team to get a handle on things before the Ohio game. OL did a spectacular job, cant say enough.

SMU just plain sucks, wish we were playing them instad of Ohio
-
Yup that makes more sense...... Should be an interesting game to watch

Thank You Pourhouse - That Is How It Is Done
UNT_playmaker replied to stebo's topic in Mean Green Football
Everyone who watched it at the pourhouse totally lucked out..... I watched the game at Clark Park with friends. It was packed with a great atmosphere, free giveways, UNT band and cheerleaders but it started to pour before halftime. Everyone dispersed I bought ESPNU and got to watch the rest of it at home Great setup by the Athletic Department I guess the rain wasn't expected. -

How Big Will The Crowd Be For Ohio ?
UNT_playmaker replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
A week is a long time before rain can be determined for sure Let's say about 24,000 If this was a local team we were playing we could reach 30,000..... UNT's big win is creating alot of buzz, so hopefully this will in turn result in an attendance boost. -
1-0, Where's The Doom And Gloom In This One...
UNT_playmaker replied to FloMoGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
Less Bloody Body Games = A Chance to win on the road and gain HUUUUUUGE confidence and momentum. Great Job Mean Green. Huge Congrats to the Players and Coaches and Support Staff, you made this possible. -
Great News for the Mean Green, all around great night. Screw the Sun Belt....
-
What boggled my mind really was the chance for so many turnovers.... This needs to be hammered down by the coaches when they come back to Denton. We almost had so many picks.
-
I loved it when the announcer said this team will win more than one game this year..... Should have been 14-0 twice but very impressed. Hopefully we can see it through.....

This is coming from the same person who opposed the new stadium referundum back in 2001. When we all voted for it. Whats sad was that you were an elected student leader and rallied against improvement for own school. Im not being negative in any way whatsoever, alot of people have doubts we were 1-11 last season. Besides I've followed the Mean Green since I was in middle school and am from Denton and am a true fan, not someone who just come aboard a few years ago and didnt even know who the Mean Green were before they enrolled at UNT. I sure as heck wish they can pull off the upset, it would be an upset if they win and everyone I mean EVERYONE would love to see us start off the season undefeated, but it will take alot for it to happen, it could happen but it would be a suprise to most of us. GO MEAN GREEN
-
You sir, take NT attendance very seriously. I applaud that Congrats And we are all hoping for the big win tonite.

Some of his tweets got me excited yesterday about witnessing a possible upset. But now today that reality has set in, he just wants attention and has no clue which way the game may go. I mean UNT 1-11 vs Ball State 11-1 from last year. I see a big difference between the two
