B. I grade everything tough, so a B from me means I am pretty happy. The only way I could give an A+ would be if we were 5-1.

Why not a State Fair game for North Texas?
gangrene replied to TripleGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
While we're at it, why not the Star in Frisco? At a capacity of 18K, we shouldn't have a problem selling it out. *Disclaimer - before anyone rails on me, although I live in Frisco, this post should not be taken seriously. -
No love from Marshall fans, "UNT automatic win"

Can't leave you hanging...TEXAS!!, Marshall is now 1-12 in games played in Texas. -

One improvement I would like to see on defense

I remember that one too. That was the definition of an un-catchable pass. -

Can't remember if it was the 2nd or 3rd quarter, but there was one drive where we got called for PI on MTSU followed by a very blatant (IMO) offensive PI that went uncalled. Agreed, several of the penalties were highly questionable, but it's all part of the game because that's the way football go. -

I read somewhere today that they are 1-11 all time in games played in Texas. I hope it's 1-12 after Saturday. -

Good catch, edited original post. Losing to Akron is much less impressive than losing to Arkansas...like I said "No insight" ;)
-
No insight, but their three losses are against AKRON, Louisville and Pittsburgh. In those three losses, they scored an average of 31 points. Add in their week 1 win over Morgan State, and they average 39 points per game. I expected a better chance to beat Marshall than MTSU, but I'm not as convinced now.

You forgot the free tacos, or has that already stopped?

Looks like the Bottom 10 writer loves hate mail - seems to have got UMass out of the Bottom 10.

3 wins, 4 wins, a bowl game, who will replace Littrell when he leaves? What are you guys smoking? We don't need to tap the brakes, we need to slam on them as hard as we can!! Let's take it one game at a time and not speculate about about a head coach with a career 2-2 record leaving us for greener pastures after only one season. That sort of talk, on a public forum anyone can read, can't be good for recruiting.

Don't know how many of you stayed up to watch the KXAS news last night, but they had a very inspiring story on Sam Harrell's battle against MS. North Texan Returns to Coaching After Battling Multiple Sclerosis

Sorry to revive this thread, but I was looking at Rice's 2016 schedule on fbsschedules.com and came across this story about their 3-game series with Texas: Texas and Rice Schedule Three-Game Football Series I found the above most interesting. For those that want home games only at Apogee, would you reconsider playing a "home" game at AT&T stadium or the Cotton Bowl if a team was willing to pay us $1 million+? Rice also scheduled LSU to play at NRG Stadium, but there's no mention of a payout to do so.

Can anyone confirm if this is true? Post game team reaction

Two future opponents play tonight (Rice and UTSA)
gangrene replied to GMG24's topic in Mean Green Football
I #%*%ing hate UTSA. -
According to Google Maps, Cal is 1,728 miles from Skyline High School, while Kansas State is 501 miles away. So, yeah, it's closer but certainly not what I expected from someone who wanted to be closer to his ailing grandfather living in the Dallas area. Maybe he'll take I-35 on his way home from K-State, see a "You could be home now," sign in Denton and reconsider?

From Alabama's bench to UNT's focal point:

An Alabama forum picked up the same story and all the posters have nothing but good things to say about Alec Morris (even if they don't know who UNT is). Tidefans.com - From Alabama's Bench -
From Alabama's bench to UNT's focal point: Coaches believe Alec Morris' talent can help resurrect Mean Green football A good article in the DMN from Rick Gosselin.

Big XII corporate offices are in Irving. We should just go kidnap Bob Bowlsby and hold him for ransom until he lets UNT in the conference. (Disclaimer: this is meant in jest). In all seriousness, the fact that the Big XII offices are right in our back yard should be even more reason to ensure they know all about UNT.
