Yeah, all the idiots on ponyfans are salivating over him simply because of Wasson's comment that he wants to move closer to home. They claim they've sent letters to the SMU athletic dept. concerning Chris Perry, but who knows if JJ and staff are interested in him. Even though he would not be eligible to play until 2009, this is one story that has me excited. The thought of signing Perry to play at UNT as so appealing that I won't even allow myself to think about it anymore for fear it won't happen!

I agree. And, from what I understand, it was a third-degree shoulder separation on his throwing arm...which is serious and likely the key factor in why Dr. Andrews was sought out to perform the surgery. I seriously doubt Riley will be ready for spring practice and wonder if he'll be 100% by the start of the '08 football season. Has anyone heard news on how his rehab is going? I think Riley redshirts, Vizza starts and a very capable Daniel Meager awaits his turn on the sideline if the unfortunate case of an injury should strike down Vizza.

Yes, that was actually my point. From what I understand the offer TD did not honor wasn't made public until after signing day, leading many to believe that the kid was never notified that his ship offer to UNT had been revoked. I don't know how much truth there was to that story, but the media sure did make it seem as though the kid thought he was going to UNT right up until signing day.

I just read this and...well, it plain SUCKS!!! I had high hopes for Derek Tomlin at UNT as he was making tackles all over the field in every SLC game I watched. Wasn't he the very first commitment we had this year??? So much for that. And...whoever it is that has a Derek Tomlin quote in his signature...time to change that sig!!

I think it was a stand-up move for Briles to notify these recruits of his intentions as soon as possible, so that they have time to investigate alternative options and possibly get a scholarship elsewhere. I know it couldn't have been easy for Briles or the (former) recruits, but it will be better for everyone in the end.

Yes, I would take you bunch or "no-talent Dickey recruits" on my defense anyday! I'm sorry that your 2007 coaching staff didn't know how to best utilize your many talents. And before some of you people (that don't understand sarcasm) come on here and post questions about that comment...no, I don't want Dickey back and I don't miss Dickey...well, maybe I do miss his ability to get the most out this defense just a little. But that comment was made to those who have defended Mendoza and the rest the coaching staff by saying that Dickey "left the cupboard bare". This defense had a LOT of talent!!
