Honestly, I've been secrectly wondering that myself...ever since the OU coaches were laughing at our defensive schemes last year.

Maybe we can petition the NCAA to stop keeping score in our games?? Like they tells kids now in little league, it's not important who wins or loses as long as everyone plays and has fun.

Maybe we can divert some of student enrollment to Denton High and drop back down to 4A?? Which game do you think we can win??

I have to agree. This is, without a doubt, the lowest point in the history of this program. I hate to admit it, but I'm thinking it's time to declare this experiment a failure.

Guys, I hate to say it but....we very well might not win a single game this year. The rest of the belt, including FIU, and even W. Kentucky, look a lot better than we do right now. I hope I'm wrong.

I am still utterly baffled by the ignorance of the students in regards to why we need a new stadium. I mentioned the upcoming ballot to a recent graduate today and encouraged this person to solicit others who are current students to vote in favor of the athletics fee to build the new stadium. The response I got was, "I don't know if it will help (make our team better)." And that was it.

LOL, I'm LMFAO on that one. I keep my volume muted while I'm at work, but I turned it up to try to hear the music you're talking about. I don't hear anything.

I just heard a story on KRLD about how the SGA will vote tonight to include/exclude the referendum on the fall election. I'm sure they'll repeat the story throughout the day but I'll touch on a few points. They played a recorded quote from Rick V. that said something about how he felt if we didn't get a new stadium soon, we'd be looking for a place to play in 7 or 8 years (because Fouts will no longer be a viable option). They also mentioned the 200+ opposition group on Facebook (no mention of the group in favor of the stadium) and said they feel we don't need a new stadium because we never fill up the one we have. Ok, that's about all I remember from the brief mention. I just thought I'd let the board now...this is really starting to get some play on the local news media.

I thought we needed the new stadium before we can attract quality recruits??

Now, that (what I bolded) is just pathetic. We could have hosted LSU, on campus, had the generators been ready?

Since we're on the subject of gambling, Sportsbook.com has named the Tulsa vs. UNT game as their "no juice" game of the week....not that I would know...just something I overheard.

I think the general consensus is that it appears deception was involved.

What about the best SLC players that didn't really even consider UNT? 2008 Class Blake Cantu - Oregon Tre Newton - Texas Jake Jackson - Baylor Sam Schwartzstein - Stanford 2009 Class Brayden Burnett - Missouri Kyle Padron - SMU - (I guess this one's excusable if only it wasn't SMUt) I don't know that we necessarily had a pipeline to SLC in the first place. In fact, I think it's the exact opposite. Players that receive very little FCS interest seem to find their way to Denton and are given a legitimate chance to continue their football careers because of their association with SLC and Todd Dodge. Having said that, I hope all the SLC players on the UNT roster have terrific college careers and make the other schools regret not giving them more serious attention.
