  1. Eliminate the kicker...P for K is the better way.
  2. What about the third and long draws? Maybe he was trying to keep that secret?
  3. Emmitt, you can always go over to the SMU site and stir sh*t up!!
  4. 5 point game. I hope I spoke too soon. WKU hasn't exactly been stellar at the free throw line.
  5. The fat lady is singing. It was a good season and a good effort against W Kentucky.
  6. Missed free throws and no rebounding is hurting too.
  7. Official report is a sprained right foot. His return is questionable...tie game again.
  8. Looks like they took him to the locker room.
  9. Mendez-Valdez-Valasquez-Rodriquez was starting to heat up....then he got knocked on his arse.
  10. This is a sloppy, sloppy game by both teams.
  11. I was about to do the same thing and thought I'd check out all the sports channels first.
  12. Directv ch. 640.
  13. Everything just sort of fell apart there at the end of the half. However, we still have the larger number in the scoring category!
  14. 13-0 run guys...we're up by 8 now!!
  15. We're up, 31-28.
  16. I just got home from work and was pleasantly surprised to find the game on TV. For those of you with DirecTv, it's channel 640, MASN.
  17. This thread is an embarrassment to the forum and to UNT. Good grief, don't you have anything better to do than complain about what little publicity we do get for our football program these days? And, just because someone didn't play football doesn't make them any less knowledgeable about the game. That is such a tired argument. I don't recall Lou Holtz having played much college football, yet he was a great coach. Likewise, Emmitt Smith was a stellar athlete, yet he absolutely SUCKS at trying to translate his knowledge as a reporter/sports analyst. If you want to complain about something, why don't you complain about our 3-21 record or our inability to draw more students to the games? Or...you know...I really don't care...but this beef everyone has with the media coverage we get (whether it's Vito or Troy Phillips) is just stupid. Sometimes I think we must have the world's most naive football fans - maybe ignorant is the better term.
  18. LOL...wow, that one slipped right by me. Good catch....WTH is a "chemisty senior" anyway?? Maybe we should start sending the NTDaily into Jay Leno for his headlines segment??
  19. Obviously, an important position to have on your resume with the current coaching staff!!! I'm just kidding...I get the point that the HS coaching experience serves to assist in the recruitment of HS players. Now, whether or not I'm buying that argument is an entirely different matter.
  20. What a brilliant comment!! I don't know who I am more impressed with - Jason Halbert for his less that obvious observation (I mean the logical assumption is that mixing sometimes flamable chemicals would surely never be the source of a fire) or the NT Daily reporter for actually publishing the quote.
  21. I read about this kid earlier this week. I don't remember Wylie doing much when he was here in HS, but they made it to the state championship this year with his successor, Jerod Monk (who signed with Baylor this year). Still, I don't doubt he has good athletic ability and I understand he had a legitimate chance to compete for Nebraska's starting QB position this year. I didn't feel he was worth mentioning here because we have little to no chance of gaining his father's interest and the kid and his helicopter parents just come with too much baggage. Seems to me like we have enough drama going on as it is.
  22. Maybe Mr. Phillips should sign up for Google Latitude so he can track Gio's every move?
  23. Back to the main topic of discussion on this thread, I think it's a bit of a long shot to expect the NCAA to grant a waiver to Stadford on the basis of being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. I've done a bit of research on it and I've found a few examples of both basketball and football players affected by Katrina in HS that played one year at a 4-year university before transferring. Each of them was required to sit out one year before being eligible at the university to which he was transferring. The only differences I've found is that these players transferred to another HS so they could play in their senior seasons and had significant playing time in their college freshman seasons, whereas it appears that Stadford did not participate anywhere his senior season in HS and was redshirted at OU. Here are a couple of players with similar situations: Jeremy McGee Lawrence Gilbert Along with many news stories discussing how the NCAA would not discontinue its policy of requiring transfers to sit out one year (due to circumstances created by Hurricane Katrina), here is the official announcement that was posted by the NCAA back in 2005: NCAA News Release September 16, 2005 I also found this addendum to a story at College Confidential by FWST's Troy Phillips posted on January 22, 2009. I was out of the country during that time so I apologize if this is old news. Addendum: Stradford will sit out the 2009 season and play in 2010 as per the NCAA in-division transfer rule.
  24. My thoughts too. And, since this is an exclusive rights deal, that means there is no chance any of our games will ever be televised by any of the other college sports networks (CBSC, VS, FOX Sports Nets, etc) that seem to pick up some of the games between teams with lesser national prominence. Oh well, I'll look at this as a glass half full opportunity and trust that the deal has lots of promise to secure the SBC more national television exposure and hope that it means we'll get more local coverage on ESPN+ for our away games.
