  1. Generators?? Maybe if we didn't have to spend so much money renting generators for the home games, we could afford to hire better coaches??? My personal favorite is pushing baby birds out of their nest before they know how to fly.
  2. I just can't understand why Riley has so much to prove to some of you. He's going to make some mistakes and he's going to take some hard hits, but he's the best hope we have at winning over the long haul. He knows the system and has made many good reads this season. I've already heard several announcers and fans of opposing teams comment about how he would have been a national top 10 QB prospect if he was a few inches taller. Give him some time to adjust to playing QB at the college level. He's a smart kid and he'll learn to find the passing lanes. If you're looking for someone to blame, why not look for better separation from the receivers or better pass protection from the O-line? One thing I know about Riley is that he has the will to win and he'll do everything in his power to lead this team to victory. I can't wait to see him throwing to Stradford and William Cole. Cole can be a better Shipley than Riley and probably even Shipley, himself...or were you just making the white receiver comparison??
  3. Well, we could always copy Euless Trinity's post-game haka dance:
  4. Seriously?? You know absolutely nothing about this person, yet you insult him and post his picture on a public forum...ridiculing him for wearing a college jersey to a college football game?? So you don't approve of the specific college jersey he chose to wear to a UNT game, so what?? Did he pay for a ticket and put some butts in seats?? YES, he did. UNTflyer, you've done more than your fair share to support UNT and our efforts to build a new stadium, but you should be ashamed of yourself for this particular post. Whoever this fan and his family are, I thank you for attending a UNT football game and hope you had a good enough time to return over and over again.
  5. DMN Staff picks 9/25 Ok, MTSU is favored by 7 1/2, so how can you pick MTSU against the line and UNT to win the game straight up?
  6. I used that site a few weeks ago to watch the Texas-Wyoming game (DirecTV and Versus are in a lover's quarrel so Versus got the boot). I was quite impressed with the quality although I think it's just a bunch of guys with webcams pointed at their TVs...toward the end of the game, when Texas was pulling away, the guy started flipping channels or...channel surfing...so the name of the site definitely is appropriate.
  7. I posted something to this regard about the possibility of the two Lewisville series coming to Fouts instead of Cowboys Stadium a while back. I was surprisingly lambasted by the negative crowd about how it would cost us more to host the games, due to generator rentals or some nonsense, than it would be worth. Thankfully, the Lewisville AD was impressed by the new stadium plans and he and RV were able to come to an agreement...generator rentals and all! I read somewhere recently that the City of Arlington charges $100K just for city services (police, fire, etc) at a single event. Now, I imagine that cost is somewhat dependent on expected attendance and personnel requirements based on that attendance, but that's a LOT of money. I also read that Texas Stadium charged a $5000 rental fee for high school games, whereas the rental fee at Cowboys Stadium in $15,000. I think it would benefit UNT to host as many quality HS games as possible, especially 4A and 5A playoff games. This will be even more important as we move to the new stadium....think of it as a second chance to make a first impression. The more students and student-athletes we can get to interact with UNT in person, the better.
  8. Actually, I think many of us had this great prophecy because of Riley's highly publicized proneness to injury.
  9. Yeah, take out the pick six and that makes sense.
  10. The only problem I have is that he disses the offense without crediting the defense. Our defense gave up what? 47.6 points per game last year?? This year's team has given up 31.3 if you include the points scored by Ohio in the OT. But, since Brett wants to make our offense look more pitiful by leaving out our OT points, then it's only fair we do the same for the points our defense gave up in OT - in which case, would mean that the defense has only given up 27.6 points per game in regulation time. Now, that's not a great defense by any stretch of the imagination, but it sure as hell beats the 47.6 points per game we gave up last year.
  11. The Isiah factor??
  12. UNT90 already mentioned it, Nathan wasn't looking off the DBs and they picked up on it very quickly. You can't look at one receiver the entire play and then expect to complete a pass to that same receiver.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out if you did or didn't get a call....apparently??? Apparently seems to indicate there is some doubt on the issue.
  14. Of course, if we lose we can always http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwrL9MV6jSk...
  15. I'm looking for clear rain coats/gear/ponchos online right now...with very little luck. Any ideas where to find cheap, clear (so my Mean Green colors can show) rain gear?
  16. After giving that comment a second thought, that doesn't sound too bad. It'll never happen, but it does make a little sense. The alignment could be similar to what the UIL does in the Texas HS ranks, although I don't think basing "districts" on total enrollment wouldn't be too fair. Maybe ranking by total athletic budget would provide a similar division, but I'd hate to think where that would put us. On the other hand, HS football is quickly becoming more similar to college football...who would have ever thought we'd be seeing HS football games nationally broadcast on ESPN 10-20 years ago??
  17. Aren't you the same guy that predicted a hurricane would hit Denton??
  18. Slow down there...we've still got a long way to go. I'm more surprised that Tech is #3 after they struggled against North Dakota State. I'd put Baylor and maybe even Houston ahead of them after that performance. I'd also flip UTEP and Rice because I think Buffalo is a much better team than UAB. At least we're ranked ahead of SMU. Another win this weekend, coupled with losses by both Rice and UTEP could have us chanting, "We're # 7!!!! (in Texas, that is)"
  19. Thanks for the answers guys!!
  20. OK, I finally got it...it was a Firefox browser issue.
  21. Nope, still nothing.
  22. Damn!!! Same problem as last week!!! Every time I try to view the game notes, I get a blank page and am taken to this link: https://admin.xosn.com/pdf4/642089.pdf?&amp...;DB_OEM_ID=1800
  23. I can't remember and I can't find anything on the athletics site about it - are umbrellas allowed inside the stadium?? Also, I have some friends with a two-year old that are planning to attend - what is the minimum age for which you are required to purchase a ticket?
