  1. Jones Out With Shoulder Injury Nick Eatman DallasCowboys.com Staff Writer Sept. 20, 2004, 2:37 p.m. (CDT) IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys running back Julius Jones had to wait a week longer than he expected to get to his first game. Now, it appears he'll have to wait at least eight more weeks to get to his second. Jones will miss at least two months with a fractured left scapula (shoulder blade), Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells announced Monday. Parcells said Jones suffered the injury during a collision with current Browns and former Cowboys defensive end Ebenezer Ekuban in Sunday's 19-12 victory over Cleveland. Jones had five carries for 16 yards and fumbled once in his first NFL game Sunday. His absence likely means more carries for both Eddie George and ReShard Lee. More details to come.
  2. For the record, the Stars weren't "added". They moved from Minnesota. Hopefully the WHA will take off and work. BACK TO REUNION!!!
  3. I have it on FSSW alt. On mine it is CH. 644.
  4. Do any of you have Action Replay? Have you had any problems with it? If you have any other thoughts on the product I would appreciate that too.
  5. Good point JayDub. I didn't take that into account, although I concur that most if not all of us not in the media or in the Rangers organization will call it The Ballpark. Also, did the Rangers owned by Bush or the Rangers owned by Hicks make that promise? If it was Bush, I don't think Hicks should have to live by that unless there was sone sort of crazy agreement somewhere. But, it Hicks made the promise we need to pull out the tar and feathers.
  6. I really don't care, but would have liked to see it American Ballpark rather than Field.
  7. I was there for the double header yesturday, and it was electric. From the sound of it on TV, it was even more so tonight. The "SWEEP" chant.....greatness!!!! Even better than us with the "Pedro" chant last night. Best record in the ML and a team ERA of 4.15, the bullpen with a 3.52 including Benoit's 2 starts as he is still the 6th man/long reliever.
  8. As mentioned, Jackson has a bum knee a la Terrel Davis....but probably not as good as him. Wasn't a big fan of Kevin Jones...sort of an all or nothing. Perry would have been ok in the 2nd, and Greg Jones has tore his knee up in the past. I liked Cedric Cobbs, but see Greg Jones. We will enjoy having a top 15 pick from the Bills next year too.
  9. I have changed my view on Bonds since the season started. I no longer think he is on illegal substances. I don't think he is that stupid. I do think he is on some substance not banned/illegal. And as Zeke said, substances don't give you the talant the man has. ARod will snap out of his funk, and it may have started today. He starts most every year slow. Scott Posednik has 9 SBs already. The Rangers are having health problems with their pitchers. If the was a year where we looked for them to contend, I would be worried, but this season is more like a live tryout for the future, so it will just give more guys an opportunity. Speaking of pitching, the Rangers have a ERA of 4.35 right now. If I heard correctly, that is in the top third in the AL. They are also hitting .312.
  10. MHO: Rogers Solid effort and got betrayed by the pen. 7 IP and several Ks. Chan Ho- I thought he pitched really well, and had real good control 85-90% of the time. The ump had a little but of a large strike zone, and Park was able to take advantage of it. We will have to see what happens when the zone is small or normal size. On the 6th inning, the ball Mench misplayed probably should have only been a double. Because the runner was on 3rd and not 2nd, the Rangers tried to save the run and play up. Had he been on 2nd, the ball probably would have been fielded and you would have had a runner on 3rd with 2 out leading 1-0. The Dye HR was not lacated where he wanted it, but still was high and in, a ball that only a hitter in a groove can hit, let alone drive out. He went 7.2 and had 95 pitcher and only about 20 of those were balls. 8 Ks and only 1 BB. Cobra Lewis Decent control, but 4 BB too many. 5 Ks is good for 5.1. Pitch count hight for only 5.1. One bad mistake all game and it was the only run OAK got, a high tight fastball to Dye. All his pitches were working, just as Parks were. Homerun to Dye was last hit he allowed, but only faced 1-2 after him. Bullpen Was terrible on Monday, but was terriffic today. Walked maybe 1, but gave up 0 hits with about 3 Ks. Props to Cordero. He had over 30 pitches in the 1.2 inning save and was able to overcome the Soriano error. Fielding 3 games. 3 errors. 3 errors by Soriano, but deserved only 2. Mench more than made up for Tuesday with some plays he made today. Nivar is also playing very well, running into the wall and covering for Soriano today and picking up Mench yesturday. Hitting Not too good, but against the 3-headed monster they faced, not too shabby. --------------------------------- 3 games in, the Rangers have an ERA of 3.24
  11. ESPNEWS said something to the effect of "and dozens were there to see it"
  12. If I knew how, I would tell you how they pronounced "DeGrate" but I just wouldn't do it justice. They named it shot of the night. Oh, and GO MAVS!!
  13. They just showed DeGrate's 80+ foot shot at the end of the half. Expect it on SportsCenter too. Will be on again in 30 minutes.
  14. Unless I read it wrong, you have to meet certain criteria. I don't. I don't get $1,000, nor pass go.
  15. I freely admit I didn't get to and still don't get to see much hockey, but I feel that our D had to use the first month or so of the season to learn each other. It is just real hard to replace that much of a core and not have a lull. They have pulled it together it seems, and hopefully Dallas can move into a top 4 finish...with 3 or 4 being most likely. Turco also has a lot to do with the D being #4 too.
  16. I will give credability to Galloway, Cowlishaw and Evan Grant before a NY paper anyday. And I am not a fan of Grandpa Urine at all.
  17. I don't necessarilly disagree with you, but I don't think you get rid of 1/3 of your D in one season. Turgeon is playing very well as of late, but I still don't think his huge contract is a good one.
  18. He also let Hull and Hatcher go. And traded away Sydor. And signed Turgeon to a huge conract, and have pulled the plug on some other bad signs a la the Rangers.
  19. I have not heard anything locally to give credit for this trade. It was spun by one of the New York semi-real newspapers that throw things on the wall day in and day out. Until I heara credible source from Dallas I won't believe it.
  20. If the market wouldn't have tanked 3 or so years ago, then the ballpark would already have a name on it. Plus, if what I have heard is true, it won't be that bad. In fact, the ONLY word that will change is "The"...and maybe "in" to "at". Even at that, true fans will continue to know it as The Ballpark or The Temple.
  21. Simple. In your fantasy, be the owner of both teams. Make the trade, and relieve the control of the team you don't want.
  22. DeGrate Rogers Johnson Smith Those are our seniors. Everyone else should be back.
  23. Since I graduated, Sanger has gone from 9-3A to 7, and now 6. Bowie Gainesville Pilot Point Pottsboro Sanger Whitesboro Does Whitesboro still suck? My senior year we kicked off to them and had a 21-0 lead on them before they had 4 plays from scrimmage. Obviously Gainesville will be the favorite and PP will probably be decent. It also means there will be a lot of cops at one of our games this year.
  24. Me being sore is a constant, no matter how active or inactive I am. It is gonna suck when I get old.....
