  1. I'm having a hard enough time getting through this year. I'll think about next year after Spring practice. 3 years of terrible defenses is disconcerting, regardless of who are the coordinators or the head coach.
  2. The offense was terrible tonight, also, but it hasn't been steadily terrible for the last 4 weeks. The defense has. The ULM offense is not exactly a powerhouse, but probably could have scored over 40 if they wanted. I was just commenting on the lack of intensity, aggresiveness, and any penetration by the defense. A situation that has gotten worse as the year continues. Every phase of the game was awful tonight, and every coach on this staff should be embarassed by this effort.
  3. Ha, didn't see this before my last post. You know, working your way through college is a great way to build character. As a rule, if you bet against every piece betting advice I post on here, you would probably be a very rich man.
  4. Glad I don't have kids.
  5. The intensity on the defensive side of the ball, in particular, has regressed so far from the Ball St. and Ohio games. The defense flew to the ball in those games. I am tired of what appear from the outside to be uninspired efforts.
  6. If he really did pass away, ESPN may have realized the mistake of reporting this before family notification and pulled the report. Or they just could have screwed up initially. I'll feel better when there is an official announcement. Is this game on TV?
  7. Hope it is not true. No way there would be any official anouncement on any network until his family was notified. Prayers.
  8. That was in year one of Dodge. I wasn't at that game so I don't know how much of he crowd were Navy fans? I think with the recent tragedy at Fort Hood, we may see a large contingent of Army fans wanting to show their support and get some escape. Thank you, ULM fans, for bringing just as may fans as were in our student section. And the defense was NOT good. They were better than the frst 3 quarters of last week, but NOT good, NOT average, NOT ok, but bad. Really bad. Only 2 forced punts while the game was still competitive. Better than 0, but still bad. Non-UNT friend commented that ULM O-line shifted the line of scrimmage 3 yards downfield immediately after the snap on every running play. I watched, ad sure enough, the d-line was just getting blown off the ball. The game plan for Dodge by every team should be to run blitz him and make him beat you deep. Thats what ULM did and it work well (same as MTSU). Sitting in section E, I could really hear the grumbling of unhapiness with what was happening. This was the first time I have seen this type of disgruntledness (is that a word?) in the last 2 years . Next week is our last chance at a win this year, but I really don't see it happening on the road.
  9. Good article which points out that government, no matter who is in power, is the problem. The private sector will sort it's way out of this, just leave it alone.
  10. UNT 48 ULM 52 Riley throws for over 350, we have trouble running the ball, and the defense continues the late season regression. Many on hear call for Dodge to be replaced with Deloach, completely ignoring the fact that Deloach actually coaches the problem area on the team. IF the defense can show any signs of life and special teams play decently, UNT could win this by double digits. Those are really big IFs.
  11. Exiting the highway or pulling all the way off the shoulder into the grass when getting pulled over may get you out of a ticket, depending on who stops you. If it's a motorcycle cop, forget about it, nothing short of a dying relative wll get you out of that ticket... then again...
  12. First off, I'm sure the "National Coalition for the Homeless" would consider standing by a road carrying an advertising sign a job, despite the fact that the homeless person carrying this sign takes his daily wages and spends it all on booze/drugs. I'm not saying this is all of the homeless, I'm just saying that the people who conducted this study would consider that a job. I don't think the chronically homeless are lazy, I think they are mentally ill/drug or alcohol addicted. Otherwise, with all the programs available, they wouldn't be homeless. This is a stupid program that every crack/meth dealer will take advantage of, if they are smart enough to find out about it.
  13. So, just to get it right, Deloach bears no blame for the last two years he was here, and the defensive players brought in under his watch? Is his sole responsibility coaching? Does he not recruit at all? Was Dodge responsible for the first 3 quarters of the WKU game and Deloach responsible for the 4th? Something tells me that, in your eyes, if this kid signed and became all-conference, it would be strickly because of Deloach's coaching abilities. But, if this kid signed and was an unproductive player, it would be that darn Dodge and his continued recruitment of these small players. Credit and blame go hand-in-hand with everyone on this staff.
  14. And less than 1% on my money market that was making close to 5%. It's basic economics that when inflation increases, interest rates are increased to attempt to control that inflation. See 1978-1982
  15. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Jobless-rate...122944.html?x=0 With the dollar continuing to take a beating and congress wanting to put this country way further into debt with outragous spending, can a big increase in inflation be far behind? And, as any economist will tell you, with an increase in inflation comes an increase in interest rates. It seems to me that we are at a similiar point to where we were in 1982-83. Will the economy recover? Will this congress stand back and let it? Interesting times.
  16. These are two conflicting statements contained in the same post. Just sayin
  17. Are you an ex-congressman?
  18. Is chl 21 carrying this game?
  19. The funny thing is, you always blame Dodge for this. I think the DC is responsible for the players he plays, no??
  20. Sad thing is, it wasn't a misspelling. Thats what I thought it was called
  21. Sure, go ahead and make fun of my inability to post a picture. Yes, it is all about me!
  22. I can't even figure out how to post a picture on here, much less the correct name for all the little gadgets. For clarity, that little dancing guy under the name Tasty, like you all didn't know.
  23. Careful there, people on here have been painted as a racist for much less. The clunkers for cash was nothing but a pay-off to the auto workers union that supported Pres. Obama. This was corporate welfare. You scream about that Wall St bailouts, but support this? Where is the logic in that type of thinking? The only thing this did is give inflated, false economic indicators for the last economic quarter. It amazes me that some of you on here don't understand that the government is spending YOUR money. Where do you think they get it?? My brother, who is very educated, actually said to me last weekend that he thought everyone deserved free health care! Free!!! WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS FOR THESE PROGRAMS!!! I will not buy a Chevy again because they were a part of the initial bailout. I am now a Ford man. Eeally, this rant is directed at the topic in general, not you personally.
  24. Or, just death in general (See: your aviator). Sorry, couldn't resist.
