  1. A one year, overrated all-star. And of those 20 ppg, 15 always seem to come in the first half, with the other 5 coming in the 3rd quarter. Toss in the in season dope smoking and regression over the last several years, and I just can't wait until he is gone from this roster. But,for where he was taken in the draft, I agree he is a decent player, but not nearly the player that he could have evolved into if he wasn't a kucklehead.
  2. Only a couple of games in, so lets just hold our water, shall we? Remember after Josh Howard's 1st couple of YEARS in the league, everyone thought he was a steal. Not so much.
  3. Been to every home game. Seen the R E G R E S S I O N of this team. In case you didn't know, that is the opposite of improvement. Young teams get better with experience, this team gets worse. If you can't see that, you are football stupid. I'm not calling for Dodge to be fired, but if you think there will be a massive improvement next year, you are in for a BIG let down. Get over the "Dodge needs more time" excuse. SMU is our competition in so many ways, and their 2nd year coach has them bowling after a 1st year of 1-11.
  4. I hope to be there, but it depends on if there is some type of transport between the tailgate area and the groundbreaking.
  5. Just got two additional mentions on this fiasco. This, more than anything the football team has done, makes me wish I had gone to a different school.
  6. Doesn't matter. The publicity was on every news channel throughout the weekend. It even made the halftime news during the Cowboy game. It is an embarassment for the university, and reinforces the perception that we are just a quaint little liberal arts school. While other collegues are discussing bowl games for their colleges, I get the "bunch of dude" homecoming questions. If you don't think this will affect recruiting, you don't live in reality.
  7. No, I expect them to play better as they get more experience, a concept that is apparently lost on you. Mark it down, if Dodge is here next year, this team wins 3 games. Special teams are terrible. The defense is terrible. It has been three years and all of these things remain a constant. What makes you think they will change?
  8. I guess we just ignore what Jones has done with SMU and accept our lot in life as the loser, joke metroplex school? No Thanks. Of course, after seeing the lastest publicity for UNT, I'm not so sure that the title doesn't fit. Way to go, SGA. Nice stones for standing up for what you believe when just a little political pressure is applied. Now we get this sorry A&% publicity that makes us the laughing stock of the metroplex. What high school senior with raging football hormones doesn't want to go to a school where the homecoming court could be a bunch of dudes and no chicks? Such a terrible, terrible weekend for this university.
  9. I will be there. Is there any need to get tickets in advance, or is walk up pretty safe?
  10. Losses, no matter the kind, never "begin to turn a program around."
  11. "According to sources who have read the nation's charter, the U.S. Constitution and its 27 amendments do not contain the word "God" or "Christ." It appears that dude isn't the only one who hasn't read the document. Maybe the authr of the article could take the time to do some research? Rag journalism. Surely the "half the posters" on this forum are the half that run contrary to your political views, right? And I dont even know what those views are.
  12. TCU has beat better opponents, more convincingly, than Texas has ths year. Unless they play, we will never know who is the better team, but with the extremely weak little 11 and big 1, and the emergence of the Mountain West as the better conference this year, I think the argument of the better team tilts steeply toward TCU.
  13. The flawed thinking I was talking about was the "we can't afford a coach" stuff. Many coordinators would take a pay cut to come here, believing they have the ability to come here, win, and then progress up the coaching chain. There are only 120 jobs like this in the world. We did not have to hire a high school coach. Yes, a coordinator would be a gamble, but far, far less of a gamble than a high school coach. A successful D1AA coach has already been successful under difficult circumstances, which would make since for this program.
  14. No S&^%. Obviously, if we all had that kind of money, bitching would be done up close and personal with the AD. We wouldn't need to come to a message board to vent. Our QB would hopefully be someone who could avoid throwing INTs that are retured for touchdowns. Seriously, one player is not bigger than the program. If T. Dodge gets the ax, and R Dodge chooses to leave, so be it. It's not like he has led us to the promised land, Jeez!!! We don't need 2 million to get a winning coach. We just need to make the right choice next time.
  15. This is a pipe dream. I want to know, what you have seen to make you think this team can win more than 3 games next year? This team has gone backwards since opening night. If Dodge is here next year, I think we see three wins tops. If Dodge is able to pull even an average recruiting class, it will be miracle. I think we are in for a very disappointing class. He has yet to prove that he can coach the talent that he has on the roster.
  16. I think it is just venting from another crap-fillled-pants edition of UNT football. At least no one is calling for her job. Yet.
  17. This is such flawed thinking. No, we couldn't afford Jones, but we could have afforded Harbaugh or any other of a number of qualified D1A coordinators from big six conferences and successful D1AA head coaches (which is the path that I think fits best for UNT). Money is such a secondary issue. There are only 120 of these jobs in the nation. A successful D1A assistant or D1AA head coach would jump at the chance to come here and use the opportunity to turn the program around and then leave for a beter, higher paying job, and that is fine. That is what we want. I hope our nxt 5 coaches make us better and move on, because we would be BETTER. If Dodge is gone at the end of the season, I would like to see us take a run at the TCU defensive coordinator. Despite his age, I think this is the kind of coach that would be perfect for this situation. http://gofrogs.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mt...pas_dick00.html Been around a lot of winning football teams. Winning college football teams.
  18. The excuse of every bad team. Next year we will be in the same boat. I also predicted between 1 and 3 wins for the year, but that doesn't mean that this is acceptable. Things change, as did the expectations after the 1st 2 games. How do you ignore the MASSIVE regression of defense and special teams after those 1st two games? Ball St may be crap, but Ohio wasn'r and isn't, and this team had every chance to win that game, but, of course, did not. If we played Ohio next week, what do you think the final score would be? I think we would lose by 3 touchdowns. This team is going backwards, and that doesn't bode well for next year. Period.
  19. If I didn't have 8 people coming to tailgate, I would not be there, either. This is a crap product right now, and I think the downward spiral will continue. Army may beat us be 30. Something needs to change.
  20. You should be able to run the audio from 100.7 the word on your computer, no?
  21. Jim Harbaugh's Stanford team hung 55 points on USC tonight, beating them by 34. No one knows how serious either side was while the coaching search was ongoing, but it's always iteresting to keep an eye on those who at least interviewed for the position. What could have been?
  22. Final?
  23. Looks like WKU has found a way to contain that offensive juggernaut known as ULM. Likewise, it looks like ULM has found a way to contain that offensive juggernaut known as WKU.
  24. Judging from the past 5 years, no worries.
