  1. I disagree. Hopefully it is his last throw as a full time QB, both for his health and the progression of this team. Where ever he is next year, I think you see him as a slot receiver.
  2. Too bad it couldn't have worked out. A damn shame. Despite today's events, I wish Dodge the best where ever he lands.
  3. Seems the only thing you care about is making excuses, any kind, for what has happened to these kids at the coaching hands of Todd Dodge! I doubt you give a rats a&% about anything but Todd Dodge. Hows that for labeling?
  4. No way we come back in that game. NO WAY!! Stupid decision not to leave Thompson at home and bring Bain in the first place. Why would you bring someone on the last trip of the year when you were going to redshirt him for the year? Why do you bring him over Bain?? I really think this cements Dodges fate, if there was any question left.
  5. I dont care if Bain didn't make the trip. Put someone in there and run the wildcat, or wahtever you want to call it. SHORTSIGHTED!!!
  6. So you put in Bain. I think Dodge knows he is gone and this is a way of taking a parting shot. Really no other explanation for putting him in in an unwinnable game. If it was intentional, Dodge should be gone for being plain stupid!
  7. Could this be the Dodge version of the black uniforms? Good god our special teams suck for the third straight year.
  8. Good lord! Lets call a tiimeout and let them review the play! Can you be any less prepared to succeed?
  9. I got a $20 bill that says if we score a TD here, we kick the extra point despite being down 16. Anyone?
  10. What's truely amazing is Dunbar gets you to the ASU 20, so naturally you throw 3 straight passes with your backup QB. May want to give him the ball on at least 1 of those plays.
  11. Now the apologist will say that we were competetive in this game, much like MTSU.
  12. We went for style last time. Next time I'd rather see us go for substance.
  13. I was on the fence on whether RV would bring Dodge back next year. After this debacle, I'm starting to think that this era may be over.
  14. Not convinced that he could build the program. Failed to do it at places with far more resources. I know, I know, TCU, but did he really do that, or did he benefit from having Patterson as a #2.
  15. Ya, I'm sure another father/son combo would at least keep this board hopping. 2 words: Re Tread
  16. If anyone thinks this team is headed for a 4 or 5 game improvement under the current leadership, you are in for a huge letdown next year. Coach Dodge is basically coaching for his job today and this is the product we get? Anyone care to guess who mailed it in today?
  17. So I guess Tune will come in and lead us to 5 straight TDs, right?
  18. Throwing arm, also. This just getting worse and worse.
  19. Riley out with broken arm
  20. Ok, these successful coaches and their baackground: Mack Brown- ?? Mike Leach - Offense (and ignored his defense for years) Art Briles - ??? June Jones - Offense Cincinnati Head Coach Brian Kelly - ?? Boise Head Coach Chris Peterson - ??? Stoops - defense Pete Carrol - Offense?? Kyle Whittingham Utah head coach - ??? (their defensive coordinator looks to be about 12 years old) Bronco Mendenhall BYU Head coach- ?? Kevin Sumlin - Offense??? J. C. Harper - ??? Bobby Hauck - ?? Andy Talley - ??? Thats a start, anyway.
  21. Not sure, and too lazy to look it up, but your probably right. See? This is why we need RESEARCH!
  22. This really jumped out at me. So, if we do win 7 games next year, we will probably have the biggest turnaround in D1A football. For those of you predicting an 8 win season, you may want to consider the fact that winning 8 games next year will most likely be a turnaround that tops every other program in the nation. Pardon me for being highly skeptical that anything close to this will happen.
  23. It seems to me that assistants on the defensive side of the ball seem to make the better head coach, not only in college, but in the NFL as well. Parcell, J Johnson, Billicheck, Patterson, Saban, Meyer (?), are a few that come to mind. Sure would be interesting to see some research into the assistant coaching background of current successful head coaches. Tasty??
  24. I don't understand why people are so hot to hire 2 coaches that have failed miserably at programs with far more resources than UNT. I wouldn't want either of these 2 guys. Give me TCU's defensive coordinator or a successful D1AA Head coach in a second over these 2 highly overrated losers.
  25. No, wasn't serious at all. I'm sure he is a fine man, but I'm also sure he is a High School Coach. If we do decide to go "in another direction," I hope we go in another direction.
