  1. And needing to win to keep his job, he will no doubt take much bigger APR risks in order to bring in better talent to help achieve that record. Dodge has to only be concerned about next year.
  2. Really? Have you checked out OU's message board? Did you check out SMU's last year? Much worse than here. Do you really think a recruit gives 2 cents about what the same 50 or so people that post on here have to say? I would hope that they would take the message that the fans here care about the success of the program, not the coach. If Dodge had come in, turned this around, and gone 10-1 this year (not out of the question with this schedule), would you be upset that he would be leaving for a better job? Because I promise you he would be so out of here. So, don't come down on legitimate critizism of Dodge and those upset that he isnt gone. And at 5-31, pretty much all critizism is legit. We are UNT grads, not Todd Dodge grads.
  3. I would not expect much from this class.
  4. Yes, lets work on keeping the same 20 member alumni club that has led this program to the glory that we see before us. Sorry I am not in THAT club.
  5. I think this would be much more of a reason for any resignation
  6. The title of this thread should have read "Welcome to PERMANENT irrelevance"
  7. Nope. I don't get it.
  8. Yep, Weatherbe goes 6-6, kicks our rear by, what 24 points? and is fired. This at a school with far less resources but apparently far more commitment to winning. This school has a small window to be relevant, and we just took a HUGE step backwards. We just showed everyone that, as a university, winning college football games is not a priority. Jon, Mandy, I really feel for you. You guys have to try and sell priority seating to the new stadium when your employer has just told your product's consumers that they don't give a rats @#$ about the quality of the product you are trying to sell. Good Luck, you guys are going to need it in the days ahead. We wonder why we can't get the attention of the 100,000 alumni in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. You know, those casual observers of their old school that don't give, don't return for games. Today is a perfect example of why these people divorce themselves from UNT. Why should they care? Really? Please give me any example. Next Spring we will have the usual suspects on here predicting 9 wins, we will struggle to win 3 games, and we will have the usual suspects on this board arguing that Dodge needs more time. Unbelievable. I will wait and make an unemotional decision about season tickets next year, but I am leaning toward no.
  9. Are you referring to A) Attendance B. Mean Green Club C) North Texas fans after another year of irrelevancy D) RV's career E) The football program at UNT F) All the above Well?
  10. Stupid decision that should cost RV his job if we are not significantly better next year.
  11. After a 2 win season next year, you will be able to walk up to the ticket window on opening day 2011 an hour before game time and get tickets in the equivilent of what is now section E. Mark my words.
  12. I think RV has done some pretty great things for this school, but it is becoming obvious that his decision making ability on hirings and firings, and how to handle hirings and firings, is severely lacking. RV has tied himself to the Dodge ship. If what I expect happens next year (a 2 win season), Rv should be gone. As far as how I feel about this program at this point in time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GytyF0w9BL4 The setting is soooooooo appropriate.
  13. Then why not come out and announce it. This is making very little sense.
  14. Grey area? Almost forgot:
  15. If we played SFA this year, we lose by 2 touchdowns. Wouldn't be so quick to count that as a victory.
  16. So, what you are saying is that telling everyone that you turned a white guy into a black guy through photoshop blackface is better than showing everyone? Careful, you may just get labeled as a racist.
  17. Come on, you don't think the 30 or so people that post on here control the program??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI6d4WJFRm0
  18. Yep, was standard teaching in middle school science class. 77 would be about right. The next ice age was on the way. Even preached about global cooling. But back then, our teacher made sure to point out that these projections were based on thin science, so I wasn't that worried about it. Too bad that the current global warming THEORY isn't presented with the same unbiased approach that my teacher used. I was also smart enough then to realize that the weatherman couldn't predict what would happen next week, so predictions 30 years out seemed worthless. I guess since there is no ice age, that particular prediction was absolutely worthless. I guess we should thank God for all the greenhouse gases that saved us from this horrible horrible end.
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY I know, Tacky, but I couldn't resist.
  20. This is the same scientific community that told us in the late 70s that the next ice age would be happening about... now. Uh, they were wrong. When they can accurately predict on Monday that it will rain on Friday, then I will trust them a little more.
  21. Not a big McCain fan, but if he were President, this decision was made 4 months ago, and would have been done without wasting an hour of TV time for self promotion. But, hey, we're a society that thinks getting on TV is the quentisential moment of a lifetime, so why wouldn't we elect a president with the same values.
  22. Well, then you better hire one that already lives here, because with the lack of Asst coach job security on top of the lack of head coach job security, I doubt anyone is willing to sell their house and move their family to a place where there is a better than 50% chance that you won't be around next year. Come to think of it, I don't want to hire anyone that is that stupid. This scenerio really makes very little sense. I think Dodge is either back with full staff or is gone.
  23. Someone that wants to work for a guy that allows blame to be placed on you to keep his own job. Someone who is comfortable working in an environment where EVERY assistant coach has been fired in the last 3 years. Someone, basically, who needs a paycheck.
  24. This pretty much describes my feelings on the whole deal. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...deoid=659040247
