MGB: Day 1 practice report (clarification on English situation)
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Not quite. I think you will see the #2 QB at some point this season. Let's just say I'm not confident in the OL to protect the QB. So, that means if Shanbour wins the #2 spot, I expect him to start at least one game. -
But I'm more right... Right?

Lol. This is the delusional hatred and the way overvaluing a terrible SMU program that UNT fans do on a consistent basis. Beating SMU will mean more to recruits than a victory over a Big 10 team? Delusional lunacy., Well, we didn't get "throttled" by K State the last time we played them at Fouts, did we? For people who are supposedly UNT fans and supposedly believe Luttrell is the guy to turn this around, you Mofos sure do lack confidence in the product that will be on the field in a couple of years. Why is that? I mean this is from people who always accuse me of being negative, but when I try to suggest something that will give this program a chance to take off, these same people assume UNT will get blown out at home by a P5. That's optimism, right? So dumb. SMU gets P5s to their tiny 30k seat stadium. But you say UNT can't. Typical negativity from a UNT fan who doesn't believe in the product, program, or new AD.
-
What we need is a program changing win over a P5 in a conference championship season. The chances of that win coming at home as opposed to on the road are much greater. Plan. If the AD thinks this thing will be humming in year 4 of Littrell, schedule a home and home with a P5 that year. Drop SMU if you need to make this happen.
-
How is pointing out facts negative, Mr Rah Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah? If left to people like you, RV would still be here and this program would never get better and you wouldn't care. Who really hates UNT? I know you were there for most of their games... I bet they sold way more season tickets than UNT in 2015 and this year. But hey, never let facts get in the way of irrational hatred/love, right?

Uh, SMU was 2-10 last year. One game better than UNT. The "hey we got a new coach" wore off after they were 1-3. UNT probably won't average anything close this year to what SMU averaged last year. A lot of people need proof before coming back.

Wanna make a friendly wager? 20k- you take the over, I take the under? Candy and baby come to mind. Kind like UNT averaged around 8500, right?

It's a defense of an indefensible position. All but one of our conference mates plays a P5 at home in the next 4 or so years. I posted all conference foe's OOC schedule on here a while back. But TFLF says it's just too hard, so UNT should just give up.
-
And yet Baylor played at SMU, as did Texas A&M. All these "reasons" you give aren't fact, they are simply your opinion, and you craft your opinion to support your argument, leaving out details along the way. And when you say "leaving the Big 12 out of it," that kinda means your leaving the big 12 out of it in order to support a hypothesis that has been proven wrong year after year after year by other programs in CUSA. Almost every other program in CUSA, as a matter of fact. You are right, we don't live in a vaccum. We keep going backward and we will find ourselves New Mexico St.ed right out of CUSA. Look around, TFLF, we aren't doing what are conference mates area doing. And yes, they notice.
-
Right, 25 G5 away games by Big 12 members shows they aren't playing at G5s in Texas. Lol. Some P5s get it and get it done, UNT never has. Let's hope that changes. And of course you want to take the Big 12 out of it because it doesn't suit your narrative.
-
Great news... For SMU SMU average around 17k. UNT 13k. Keep talking that stupid smack.

I don't think UNT fans are in any position to call out any program after having the worst home attendance in CUSA last year...

I don't know, why don't we ask the Texas St AD who somehow managed to get Texas Tech at home. #expectmore No, that's spin. You originally sad you were going to research how many P5s had open dates on their schedule. When you didn't get the result you wanted, you decided to change your narrative. That's spin, my TFLF friend. Not to mention excuse making. #expectmore
-
You are either moving forward are moving backward. UNT has been steadily moving backward the last 10 years. They need to change what they have been doing in a big way. This is just one example of where they need to change. Catagorizing isn't my deal. Kinda sounds like yours?
-
Consistently winning against recognizable programs advances our program. Thats what got TCU to where they are. You want to go there or are you happy getting your ass handed to you once or twice a year at a P5 to make enough money to be an average CUSA team?
-
So, lots of open dates, which was the initial reason for the thread, but something you conveniently ignore in your analysis? Spin much?

If your goal is to be competitive in CUSA only, the above post has some validity. If you have higher goals for this program, it doesn't. Playing and beating a recognizable P5 at home would be a much bigger boost in all areas you mention than beating a terrible SMU team. You need to expect more. That's why we fired the football coach and the AD. You want to settle for small time Bulsh? Be my guest. I expect this program to be able to compete with anybody in Apogee, and if they can't, doe heads to roll. Its called having standards, and the standards for this program have been far too low for far too long. We get our ass kicked EVERY YEAR by a P5 ON THE ROAD where there is a far less chance for success. The public doesn't care where it happens, only selfish fans like you do, because you are afraid you may have to watch it in person. I'll choose to give the kids a better chance of winning. If you want to choose to continue to support the largest human trafficking ring in FBS football, well, that's your right I guess.
-
Ah, the defense of RV continues. Why don't you list open dates like you said you were going to do? Shady, shady, shady. Again, we get a lot of opinion from you on why something can't be done to support your terribly wrong opinion on a former AD. Why don't you list open dates? That's what you said would be the purpose of this thread. So the Big 12 is playing 25 away G5 games, 10 inside the state of Texas, and not a one is occurring at Apogee Stadium, even after ticket holders were promised better opponents. Got it.

A recognizable P5 program.
-
They don't care about playing UNT. Don't know how that isn't clear to some people.
