What else can a coach in his position say? Seriously? I bet if you go view WKU's coach's comments before last week's game against 'Bama, he said a version of the same thing.

How many road games will UNT win in 2016?

You could very right or very wrong. Point is we will never know. Let's just hope he grows and learns in future games. -

I think you have crossed the line. It'll be interesting to see if the mods keep their word or if there is a double standard for people who continually bait and insult me. -

How many road games will UNT win in 2016?
UNT90 replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
I think Fine makes freshman mistakes against SMU and quite possibly has MORE pics than Morris. Fine completed exactly 50% of his passes against a FAR inferior defense in Butt Cookman. And he had a stellar running game to help out. UNT couldn't run the ball against SMU at all. Don't make the mistake of thinking Fine will be able to do everything he did against Cookman (which really wasn't that much) when he faces a different level of competition. That's not fair to Fine or yourself. -

No. SMU dominated that game from start to finish. At least those that think this is a rivalry can "celebrate" in the fact that Matt Davis was knocked out for the year with a torn ACL against UNT. That is until they realize he will probably get a redshirt and UNT will see him again next year... -

Myself and many others. Glad to be wrong about that. It doesn't change the fact that this team has 72 scholarship players, will be playing a true freshman QB who will struggle, sometimes mightily, in upcoming games against much better competition, and who won't face another FCS all year. We won't be able to run for 345 yards against Rice, UTSA, or UTEP. But I will say that if we somehow manage that number, we should win. Fine's passing numbers were pedestrian last week. 50% completion rate for just over 100 yards against an FCS. And that's Fine. He is going to struggle. He is a true freshman. But you sunshine pumped seek to think the BC game has some cosmic meaning. It doesn't. It's good to get a win, but this is still the same football team that was manhandlied by SMU. It's the same team that STILL has QB issues (this year). I bet you predicted UNT to lose by less than 25 to Florida. It's just rah rah BS. UNT time comes in 2018. This team needs A LOT more talent than what is in the roster to win 3 CUSA road games. But have your moment in the sun, as I was 14 points off on the Butt Cookman score. The fact that you feel the need to point it out is like a small child going "see see" when they finally catch their parent doing something wrong after trying for weeks just highlights how consistently right I have been about this program. Lol. -

I don't think we "hammer" anyone this year, especially on the road. But insane optimism after a win over an FCS is what many on this board do. #nichollsstateneverforget -
That's something I can live with this year.

They are D1. Just went FCS. -

I would be shocked and thrilled with one road win. A win over an FCS and people magically forget how shallow this team's depth is and how injuries are a huge part of a football season. Rice may be a close game. The others will be difficult. -
What do you know of our next opponent (Florida Gators)?
UNT90 replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
I like Jorts... It's funny how some of the younger folk don't realize that Floroda was the Kansas of the SEC for a verrrry long time. Remind me, when did it turn and who finally turned it? Was it the university finally making a commitment? Inquiring minds... -
Florida fans have something good to say about North Texas
UNT90 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
When a head coach has to say in his press conference that his team isn't good enough to just show up and win against "anybody," he really means that week's opponent, and he really means he DOES believe it, he just needs to keep his players' attention. I appreciate the kind words, but this game won't be close. UNT has 72 scholarship players. Just feed and water (beer) us pre game. -

MGB: UNT and the body bag/opportunity game -- A look back
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
This is correct. Whatever made things easier for the last AD was far more important than what was best for the UNT football program. Let's hope the mindset chance has taken hold and WB won't be drug down by the Terrible culture inside the AD. -

Can you not say Whore games in the DRC? Because that's what it is, a lazy, fired AD who whored out our young football players due to his laziness. I pray to God WB can find some way to change up this aged awful, lazy, man whorin' schedule left for him by the last terrible AD.- 46 replies

MGB: Five thoughts following UNT's win over Bethune-Cookman
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Much better arm than Dodge. That means he actually has an arm. Fine is a good runner and is quick, but he isn't on Dodge's level speed wise and especially not with shiftiness. The SMU kid reminded me of a full grown Rodge. That's what Rodge brought to the table. Fine is a very mobile QB, especially when compared to Morris, but he isn't in Rodge's class when it comes to his wheels. -

Our fans will have a blast! Until the game begins... Be kind to our fans. Any smack talk will hurt their feelings and you will be denounced as typical d-bag P5 fans right up there with OU (no, it doesn't matter if it's just a smattering and everyone else is nice. The two things this fan base excels at is self-righteous indignation and a severe inferiority complex). Wish I could go for the tailgate, but can't justify spending the cash for a 50 point loss. Be kind, be nice, and please don't hurt our true freshman QB.
-
Lol. Trust who you want, but the official measurement is 5' 9.5". I know. I took it.
-
Wow, sounds like Okies and the UNT fan base have a WHOLE LOT in common...
-
He was paid to leave. That is being fired, no matter the pretty face that some people want to put on it. I figured he would wait for the USM game to make an appearance...
-
FG is pretty automatic if inside a 30 yard attempt. 30-40 is iffy. Anything over 40 is a crapshoot. I don't consider that solid.
-
Mason Fine's official height is 5' 9 1/2" I stood by him during the walk in. People need to realize there will be growing pains and Fine will have some bad games this year. It's what freahmen do. Realize we are playing for 2018.
