  1. Dead period doesn't start until 12/12 according to the NCAA website: http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/June2016_DIBowlSubdivisionFootballCalendar_20160613.pdf
  2. So would a very large donor to the basketball program...
  3. The same. Dismissal was the appropriate action.
  4. This board has made it abundently clear that it only wants one narrative...
  5. On this we absolutely agree.
  6. Like I said, they arent there... Yet.
  7. The size of that crowd agrees. Looks like what I assume the Superpit looks like these days.
  8. They are still in the "I care" mode about their basketball program. Probably about a year away from just accepting their university doesn't care about basketball. You know, where we were about 2 years ago before everyone just stopped caring...
  9. Na, you make it pretty clear. See above.
  10. And I asked the same question you asked, but of this kid... I don't buy the "no one recruits Levelland" excuse. We live in the Internet age. There are lots of reasons kids fly under the radar. Don't pick and choose to suit your purpose.
  11. Just jokingly applying your own standards. Sensitive much? The point being recruits can fly under the radar for any number of reasons. For instance, not getting a chance to start until their senior year and then having a breakout year where they are a unanimous all-district selection. I'm sure this young man has similar circumstances. Maybe judging by rivals and 24/7 non-pages isn't the best method after all...
  12. But he doesn't have a Rivals or 24/7 page so he must be awful... ?
  13. One other thing. The letters UNAM next to Zack's name in the all-district link means that he is a UNANAMOUS all district 1st team selection. In a very good district. EDIT: Also, all three SLC LBs made all-district, setting a school record for tackles by linebackers. I think we all know one of the most important functions of a NT is to occupy blockers and free up linebackers to run to the ball. Another mission accomplished, as you will notice all the double and triple teams in those highlights.
  14. I'm not sure how he would feel about it. This isn't your typical Southlake kid. A scholarship is important to him. IF that ends up being an only option, I'm quite sure he would be open to it, but knowing the whole story surrounding this kid, I think he will have other options. A scholarship at another G5 or even if only an FCS would most likely be accepted over a preferred walk-on offer at a "better" school, depending on proper acedemic programs. Rock solid character with this kid, also. He will work his ass off and stay on the straight and narrow. His coaches seem to think he is a FBS football player, also. I trust their evaluation over any of the yahoos on this opinion site. EDIT: And UNT has not even been in contact reference a preferred walk-on spot. An active recruiting period just opened up and Zack's coaches will be making some calls. Zack is interested in UNT, which is why I have been pushing him. You would think this staff would at least contact him to build a relationship for a preferred walk on spot even if they didn't think he was worth the offer, just in case Zack didn't get any other offers (which I think is very doubtful at this point). I mean, the kid IS a first team 5-6A all district performer.
  15. He has had handwritten contact with K State, who also came down to scout a game. He is extremely late to the recruiting party, as he didn't camp last year. This is his first year as a starter because he backed up King Newton, a true freshman starter at UTSA that gave UNT fits. He didn't post HUDL highlights until mid season this year. It wouldn't matter if he was a 5 star, if I post it, you'll criticize it. I think we all know that by now
  16. K St. has been in contact. It's in a previous post in this thread, along with a description of why he is late to the recruiting table. He is a 6'3" 250 lb 1st team all-district 5-6A DL. I'm not worried about offers forthcoming. Read the thread. That would be a start. Is this a Cerebus shadow account? Wouldn't surprise me.
  17. Zack is still 17. He won't be 18 until February...
  18. New highlights. As you can tell by his frame, plenty of room to add 30 to 40 pounds:
  19. Zack's stars for the season ending loss to Desoto: 9 tackles 2 Solo tackles. 1 pass deflected. Contact period with visits allowed begin tomorrow. He is also putting up new highlights to his HUDL account tomorrow. Should be interesting.
  20. Zack was selected first team All-District at DT for district 5-6A. I'm quite sure offers are to follow. UNT still not in the game. http://www.wfaa.com/sports/2016-5-6a-all-district-selections/355003348
  21. Benford won't be gone until Ernie can finally get that Benford is a massive failure. Ernie didn't believe this as of the start of this season. Personal manipulation is a powerful phenomenon.
  22. Stats from Friday night: Zackery Semrak 9 tackles, TFL, Pass deflected, 4 pressures. K State assistant coach in attendance to scout Zack (and others, I'm sure). K State has been in contact and invited Zack for a visit, but no offer yet. Still absolutely zero contact from UNT.
  23. Baker stopped by our tailgate the Saturday after I emailed him. He personally told me the email had been forwarded on to the head of recruiting, so at this point I guess they just don't see him as a good fit. I also asked for tickets for an unofficial visit in that email. No response. Not a great way to build relationships. It will be interesting to see how his offer list shapes up by February. That will tell the tale.
  24. K St has been in contact, but no offer yet. VMI and some other FCS programs have also shown interest. I have tweeted the coaches and sent an email to Baker, who forwarded it on to the coaching staff (I didn't want to use the generic football@unt email). They may not be interested or think he is a good fit, but I'd think they would at least offer a preferred walk on opportunity. Like I said, I'm no talent evaluator, but the kid is starting in a very competitive 6A district. Zero contact is kinda perplexing.
  25. Stats for last week's game: 4 solo tackles 3 QB pressures 1 fumble recovery.
