MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Not out of the question. Benford needs to win games, and not have Frazier hurts that effort. If it had been true that Frazier skipped out, Benford would have been forced to discipline Frazier. It would also be a distraction this team doesn't need right now. Again, a simple "no comment" in the post game press conference alleviates the suspicion and makes the "I knew where he was all along" much more believable. I guess he is as good at press conferences as he is at coaching basketball. -
MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Didn't see that. Surprising they would confirm it, especially as he was awaiting treatment. Why you bustin' up my conspiracy theory? ? Still doesn't mean Fraizer got frustrated after the accident, didn't show, and needed the ER excuse later. This wouldn't even be a consideration of Benford had simply said "no comment" in the post game news conference. He didn't. -
MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
The hospital can't confirm that he was even there. HIPPA doesn't allow it. It makes for the perfect excuse (if it is one). The articles reference the info coming from Benford and the AD. I don't believe Benford when he said he knew all along. The absolute WORST thing to say was he had no idea where Frazier was, which means it was a moment of rare truthfulness. And there was no reason for Frazier not to notify coaches. -
MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Wait. So he lies about not knowing about it then possibly lies about the hospital visit and that isn't an issue? It seems that the hospital story could be a cover, and there is no way to verify the truth because HIPPA prevents the hospital from even acknowledging treatment was given. No injury claimed to the responding officer at the scene makes this excuse extremely suspicious. Maybe Frazier went all And then Benford went all -
MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
So Fraizer didn't need to be transported from the accident scene, didn't claim an injury to the officer working the accident, yet couldn't shoot a text to the head coach letting him know the situation? Keep in mind he would have been on his way to pregame shoot around well before game time. Bad smell around this incident. Really bad. -
MGB: Perry says parting with UNT was mutual
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Publicly disparaging a former employer just makes the person doing the disparaging look bad. It was classy, but also necessary, and like you said, in line with what you see every assistant do in this situation. -
It's a tough call, here. Wasn't Sandusky his boss? And if so, might he have felt he would've been the one in trouble if he reported? Would anyone have believed him? He did report in an adequate time frame and was fired for doing so, validating the reason he would probably give for not stepping in. I totally get where you are coming from, and think $12 million to him is a bit excessive, but there were A LOT of dynamics going on that made it surprising that he reported anything at all. It was basically institutionally sanctioned child molestation. Makes even thinking about reporting a scary proposition.

MGB: Source says Tommy Perry has left staff at UNT
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
His 2013 special teams unit was amazing. Interesting to see where he lands. I also wonder if this was an arranged deal to stay for a year. That gave Littrell someone who knew the players in the locker room and could help with the transition. -

No return game and FGs were very dicey outside 40 yards. I didn't say terrible, just average. -

Frankly I'm hoping for an upgrade. Special teams play was pedestrian this year. Good luck to Coach Perry wherever he lands.- 78 replies

MGB: Source says Tommy Perry has left staff at UNT
UNT90 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't think this is Perry stepping away. That would have occurred during the college coaches conference after the season. I think this is either a mutual parting of the ways or Perry asked not to return.- 78 replies

The argument could also be made that Fine, as a freshman, held the ball too long and didn't get through his progressions fast enough. How many times was Morris sacked in his 4 starts?
-
Look at the numbers. Stop with the emotional argument. They are very similar QBs BY THE NUMBERS. Yes, Fine is a freshman, which means we hope he can improve. But improvement was the argument made by the Lifer's of this board for McNulty in 2015. Right now, he is what he is, which is a below average CUSA QB. The only place for him to change that is on the field. Fine had a much better staff and a much better scheme to work with than McNulty. That is also pretty undeniable, unless you want to say DMac and Littrell are comparable head coaches. If you want to jump on the pile, go ahead. I honestly expected better of you. "Turd in a punchbowl" is agreeing? Lol. Fine was about to be benched, and was benched for the HOD bowl. So far he has shown issues similar to Rodge , and McNulty, not being able to deliver the deep ball. Yes, he is a freshman, but that doesn't mean he will magically improve on deep throws. Until he does, he hasn't. Pretty simple. And by the numbers, his Freshman year was comparable to MiniMac's first year as a starter. I don't care where he was before. Maybe he will improve next year, maybe he won't. But I will promise you the key to that improvement is being able to hit receivers in stride consistently on deep routes.

So you are saying a new coach, new offense, and new attitude had nothing to do with it? Man, we shoulda just kept DMac. Statistically, not a lot of difference between Fine and MiniMac. You can hate that that's the case. You can hate that I'm the one that pointed it out. But it's still there. In black and white. The only stat that wasn't listed was ints. Fine protected the ball better, as I recall. Maybe finding that stat will help you with your urge to stick it to me. Lol

The numbers suggest that had more to do with his teammates (and MiniMacs teammates) than it did either QB... Football is a team game...

Actually, the numbers don't say this at all. Fine's numbers are comparable to Mini-Macs numbers in 2014 (Fine completed 59%, MiniMac completed 54%; Fine threw for 157 a game, MiniMac threw for 129). And Fine was in a MUCH more pass friendly offense. Isadore and Pearson are complete question marks. UNT is in the same position they have been at QB since DT left going into Spring ball: they don't know what they have at QB. Saying anything else is just projecting something that you hope to happen.
-
Hope you are correct. It'll be interesting to see what we have in Isadore.

So you want to bring your degredation of a 17 year old kid into this thread, also? Priceless. And yes, UNT not contacting that kid to discuss a PWO offer is stupid on their part. You and others have put out the faux narrative that I was demanding a scholarship for this kid. Complete hogwash, but that's what you do when it comes to me. My post had nothing to do with that issue and I asked that his thread be locked because it turned into an attack on me by the usual 6 people. Move on. Rick Villarreal was a hustler. The fact that you still can't see that with all the evidence given to you doesn't say good things about your ability to analyze information.

Never question anything UNT. Play the violin on deck as the ship sinks. The Rick Villarreal years revisited. Personally, I'm glad we are keeping an eye on recruiting and a few courageous and knowledgable people have issued warnings about potential problems in recruiting. Consistent low rated classes produce consistent losers. Consistent high rated classes producer consistent winners. But ya, we should just sit back and trust like we did for 15 years of failure under the Hattiesburg Hustler.

No doubt. He just needs to improve his deep ball. A lot.
