IF he is playing, you got a deal. But a one year player, no matter how talented, isn't a guy you can build a program around.
-
Come on, man. Vito has said that kid isn't in the program. That's the reason we "beat Alabama out." Transfers and JUCOs are ALWAYS a dicey deal, the list of former four star recruits that transferred to UNT and never started is pretty well known. I want to see this staff recruit high school kids and win battles where the recruit has at least 5 other offers. There is no proof this staff can recruit, not yet. Hoping the next 3 weeks bears out your opinion.
-
Like you are obsessed with me? Lol. I think your obsession is far worse than mine.
-
How Christian of him, and you... I suggest counseling for your anger issues.
-
Well, good for you. Since you know zero about my life (and that will continue), you are clearly, again, talking out your backside. I wonder what your preacher would say about your name calling and constant stalking of me on an Internet message board? Love to be a fly on the wall for that convo.
-
I'd make the 3 county trip for at least one more game this year if a 4 year mistake is finally fixed.
-
I've done much more than cry on a message board. What have you done? Never mind, I know the answer.
-
That's why you look at offer sheets. Reminded me of the old "you wanna go campin'" joke. Lol I'm concerned by who is beating us out and the offer sheets of those committed.
-
Hoping things change in the next 3 weeks. If it doesn't, this is not a promising sign for the future of UNT football.
-
We carry far more weight than you know. No one is talking about big donors wanting Benford to stay. They are all off the Benford train and he will be gone at seasons end, if not before.

MGB: Follow-up thoughts on the addition of Marty Biagi

My posts haven't been about the last class. I even stated I don't hold Littrell responsible for 2016 because he didn't have time to assemble a class. Not so for 2017, and so far it hasn't been impressive. Now, back to my questions to you... -

Which question? Who they whiffed on? Two examples already posted earlier in the thread. Now a question for you: If this class ends up ranked 9th or lower in CUSA, will that cause you concern? If not, why not? -
It's tough being constantly right. Sometimes I hope I'm wrong so people on here can have some joy in it, but then I just end up being right. It's a hard life being me... And there are some (definitely not all) who still think RV got shafted. Pretty amazing. It all depends on how vocal we are outside this board. Hell, some can't even bring themselves to be vocal on this board.

So you are saying we agree, then. My posts are specific to this class. You usually get a pretty good sense of how good of recruiters a new staff are by their first full class. If we don't improve this class drastically in the next 3 weeks, it doesn't bode well for the future. I mean, kill the messenger if you must, but it is what it is. -
So the answer is you did nothing. Got it. And you wonder why he has been allowed to lose for 5 years.
-
Yes, which means instead of hoping everything would be ok you should have been demanding a change. Did you? Have you? Ever?

The body has been rotting for 4 damn years.
-
Well, let's just keep Benny around and hope again, eh? ?

And this mentality among this fan base is why we are who we are. Dunbar had an offer from K St. Do you think La. Tech fans are happy with just taking the leftovers? It's clear UTSA isn't. Who do you want to be? Western Michigan or SFA? Because one glance at W. Michigan and who they beat out for recruits shows you why they went 13-0 and played and competed in the Cotton Bowl this year: http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Justin-Tranquill-29181/RecruitInterests http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Wesley-French-57773/RecruitInterests http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Kadeem-Goulbourne-22342/RecruitInterests http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Justin-Spencer-33682/RecruitInterests That's just the class of 2015. When they were coming off a terrible season. And the coach recruited 12 three star players. Because he was a good recruiter. The question is: who do you want to be? SFA or W. Michigan? Far too many in this fan base are perfectly happy with the status quo. Well, the status quo ain't cutting it. This recruiting class so far ain't cutting it. So... Who do you want to be? The same old losing UNT with the same old excuses? Or maybe something more? I know how W. Michigan answered that question, and I know how UNT has historically answered it. Expect more -

Baker said what every coach/AD will say when they have a badly rated class. It's pure coach speak. I promise you if UNT had the top rated class in CUSA, you would be hearing about it from the AD. Hell, they would be dumb not to market the hell out of that, both publicly and privately to the next recruiting class. Those comments don't bother me, because what else is he going to say? Something disparaging about the kids that are signed? What would bother me is if he actually believed it. I don't think he does. Not for a second. -

Part of the reason we are where we are is because of fans that believe the bulsh fed to them when every piece of tangible information suggests that it's bulsh. I guess we could ignore it and keep the UNT tradition of repeating the same mistakes indefinitely while somehow expecting a different outcome. I mean, it is the strongest tradition this program currently has, so I understand the attachment. ? My post wasn't aimed at anyone specifically, as multiple people presented this argument, which just caused me to shake my head at the denial wrapped around Benford and this program. Fix the damn problem and remember the mistake so you don't repeat it.

By your own post, which is obviously incomplete because it did not include the Lake Dallas kid, UNT pulled zero recruits from Denton County (Again, incomplete because I know the RB from Ryan ? Is committed). Losing a recruit to Texas St and SMU and losing multiple recruits to the "big boys," if you consider Colorado of a year ago a big boy. Dodge scored several victories over such schools. As did UTSA this year. Is it your position that UNT can't compete with the Colorados and Kansas's of the world? If so, UNT should just give up and drop down to FCS. Dear God, please expect more.- 45 replies

I recall conversations with fans who genuinely believed this was the turnaround year. It clearly isn't, and was never going to be. It is past time for this to end. Way past time.

Yes, it does. Read your own post. And my bad, was thinking of this kid this year: http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/sports-headlines/20161204-lake-dallas-ijiyera-commits-to-play-at-texas-st..ece So Texas St., not UTSA, which is worse in my book. I had him mixed up with Arlington Heights WR Tariq Woolen, who picked UTSA over us even though his former QB is at UNT. I don't hold Littrell responsible for 2015 or even 2016, but he is responsible for this year. Still time left, but not looking very promising just 3 weeks from national signing day.- 45 replies
