  1. If this is mediocrity, I'd hate to see really bad!
  2. I remember those tests, and you only had one hour to complete them. Even worse were the lab tests where the human cadavers had the muscles tagged and you had to ID the name of muscle. On one of these tests, a certain part of the female anatomy was tagged as a test question (the part begins with cl....yes, that magical, wondrous part). I am ashamed to say that I missed that test question (It looked completely different on a cadaver than in real life...really...So ashamed!!). He had a pretty sick sense of humor. I was very proud to get a C in that class.
  3. This would be an example of things remaining the same. I believe (hope, expect, pray) that this pattern will change and UNT will experience real success.
  4. Watching the TCU game, I keep seeing underclassmen make play after play on the d-line. TCU fourth and 2? Stuffed in the backfield by a frosh DL. TCU threatening to score? Interception of a screen by a frosh DL and returned to the TCU 10 yard line. Just think how great these guys will be when they are upper classmen!! I know, tired subject, but i couldn't resist.
  5. Things change. Hopefully UNT football will change also, then maybe there wouldn't be so many beat downs to go around.
  6. That brings back memories. Hardest but best teacher I had while at UNT. If you made it through Anatomony and Physiology, he threw a party for the class after Spring finals. Never forget his response when I asked him if he was worried about minors consuming alcohol at the party (a pool party). "F%$# em', I got tenure." Different times, for sure!!! Can I go back??

  8. Another example of Vito making the national media print a negative article, while the national guys don't dare report on him being scooped. The conspiracy widens... Oh, and who ever really looks at the thread topic
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3669259 http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/02/sports/n...l/02rhoden.html Was sensing sarcasm, but just in case.
  10. His ultimate bosses are at DMN, since the DRC is a subsidiary, and I guarantee you they do care about a beat writer's story being picked up nationally.
  11. I think since the Drug story Vito broke went national, he is safe with his bosses for a while. I'm sure they like stories like that rather than a three line blip on page 8 about the replacement of an assistant coach.
  12. Just get it done. No excuses.
  13. So then, who is retiring? Or is the announcement an added position?
  14. And before you come back with "Deloach is a proven college coach", shouldn't that "proven" coach have been able to do a better job in his first year than the "unproven" high school coach Mendoza did in his first year? Guess Deloach is just waiting to get "his" players? Mendoza didn't get that chance. Point being, both Mendoza and Delaoch underperformed, both are/were employees of Dodge, who has underperformed to this point.
  15. Jeez, I was just pointing out the hypocrasy of "Deloach is a proven commodity" comment, not calling for the guy to be fired! I would like to know if there is any other D1 program where the defensive coordinator is not active in recruiting the players for his defense. If this is true (unless someone on here works for the coaching staff, we'll never know), it should concern EVERYONE associated with this program. Oh, Mendoza was here only one year, and no one seemed to mind his termination. (Just making a point)
  16. Immediately after the Dodge hire, how many of us would have said that we would accept 3 or 4 wins in Dodge's year 3? I don't think we should dumb down expectations.
  17. Deloach shouldn't get a pass because he had success in 2002. Using that reasoning, DD should still be head coach. Everyone should be worried if Deloach isn't actively recruiting the players that he will supervise.
  18. It would signal upheaval in the program. Defensive players would like to know who would be their coordinator, I would assume. I'm not saying that it is Deloach, but if not, why not just announce the "retirement" and move forward?
  19. I don't understand why Coach Dodge won't just say which coach left the program. Why all the secrecy? This makes me worry that it may be Deloach, since Dodge would not want to have that info public while still attempting to recruit JUCO players. Surely this isn't the way it is normally done at other places?
  20. "Dodge confirmed that one member of the coaching staff has left the program. He wouldn't say who, but that information should come down early next week." I really don't understand why there is so much secrecy about someone who is supposedly retiring. Something doesn't seem right.
  21. Orchestra Rock instead of Gangsta Rap in his highlight video? Sign him now, dump the other guy. What was his name? I'll feel better about our RPI improving. Dang...just heard the rap!! Soooo close
  22. "UNT would be a lot better off if it can get a JC tackle to campus at the semester break." Again Vito with the negativity!! How come he couldn't have said we would be better off, or maybe a little better off. "A lot better off"!!!!!! You just know he is hoping for the apocalypse of UNT sports!
  23. screw the Myians!! Couldn't even handle the Spanish, much less predict the end of times.
  24. And just who would that be? National JC signing day was 2 days ago. Tough start to the recruiting season.
  25. I wonder if this might not be the first of several retirments or reassignments on the defensive side of the ball, allowing Deloach to bring in college level assistants
