  1. Lately we seem to be only competing with D1AA programs. I asked Santa for 3 HS defensive lineman rated 3 star or above. I'm beginning to think there is no Santa.
  2. Still got to go after the old grads. If we start winning, they will return. Too many to simply ignore. PLus, you have to market to the recent grads also. Take nothing for granted.
  3. Show me one post where I ever indicate any hatred toward TD. Just because I don't blindly agree with everything he is doing does not mean that I hate the guy. I hope he goes 8-4 next year and coaches here for the next 10 years. I just don't see it happening. If you take the time to read my posts, you'll see that I have great admiration for RV and what he has done for this program. It's an old and tired argument that has been discredited by multiple examples of research that these guys will magically get better and that we are the youngest team ever in the history of forever. Talent is talent. Freshmen and Sophs play everywhere, from our conference to the Big 12. I am just a realist when it comes to the CURRENT state of UNT football.
  4. Couldn't we have changed our home stadium to Texas Stadium until Fouts could be expanded? Just askin.
  5. Yes, but these people are not just going to show up out of the blue and give you time and money. Like I said before, even though I was a member of the NT Exes, I never received one call from the AD department requesting monetary support. Even though you don't have a successful program to sell, you do have a new stadium and great gameday atmosphere to sell. A lot of my college friends had no idea that there was a tailgaiting scene or activities for the kids pre-game. You can't expect these people to magically figure this out without ANY publicity. Things are changing slowly. I work DT FW and I see at least 9 or 10 UNT shirts a week. This is up from 0 that I saw about 5 years ago. RV has initiated a lot of programs to get students connected to UNT while they are there, which will be beneficial in the future, but you still have to solicite them. No one will just show up at your door and give you money.
  6. Sit down and be PATIENT! They will all take the magic pill after next year (cause they can't have it till after their Soph year), and then things will magically be better. And don't you dare question coaching!
  7. Success and failure comes in all colors. For failure, I give you Ty Willingham (ubber qualified for the UNT job) and Todd Dodge (so far). I think putting any limitation on any future head coach candidate search is just plain stupid.
  8. That's one HOT truck!!!!!!!!!
  9. Your talking about a crowd of 20k that shows up 30 minutes before the game, and is, for the most part, family oriented. With the Cowboys, your talking about 90,000 alcohol fueled fans that have been tailgaiting for 8 hours before kickoff. Not even close to the same. Opening day for the Rangers is a logistical nightmare for the PD, and that is only 45,000. There are many issues at APD. Let's just say that they pride themselves on "doing more with less". As UNT fans, we all know the fallacy of this line of thinking.
  10. You would be shocked about what I know about APD. Considerably more than you, I promise. Let's just say the first season should be very interesting.
  11. Shoplifters wouldn't be a problem. No easy escape for them, since that whole area will be on traffic lock down. Not to mention that people that can afford Cowboy tickets are not likely to shoplift (I know, there will be people there not attending the game, but that would be a small percentage). Seems the concern would be the snatch and run on the beer/wine section. Oh, and if you've never been to that Walmart, I'm sure they will have less shoplifting on game day then on regular days. I've seen the regular patrons. The drunks wouldn't be Walmart's problem, they'd just call the good ole APD and give them a CT warning. Now, the problems APD are going to encounter is an entirely different story.
  12. I'm assuming no TV for this game? It seems the only games that are on chn 21 are the games I attend.
  13. Get #1, and he is #2 and #3.
  14. I meant Dominique...I started my news years party early
  15. I giggle every time I here this name. I know, 7th grade. Carry on...
  16. I believe that would be 200lbs to 250lbs. Thats alot of woman, assuming Mr. Vito wasn't looking at the guys.
  17. It sounds like the kid has his priorities straight. Lets hope he can help immediately.
  18. I'd like to see a telephone list compiled for as many graduates as possible. Then I'd like to see a telephone marketing campaign initiated to contact each and every one of these graduates, informing them of the coming stadium, and requesting that they support their university with a donation. Before becoming a Mean Green Club member, I never received one of these calls, even while a member of the NT Exes. Mass mailing will be just thrown away. Personal contact is the way to go. RV has definitely done more than any other AD for athletics, but there is so much farther to go. Leaps and bounds instead of baby steps!!!
  19. Two undersized shooting guards handling the point. I would love to see a TRUE point guard on this team next year. Just look at the assists to turnover ratio for White, and you will see that he is anything but a point guard. Marquis is better, but still a shoot first guy.
  20. Rumor is that JJ has already bought the Walmart and it will soon go away. Only a rumor, but a well circulated one. Can you imagine the money they would make on alcohol and BBQ supplies sales on gameday? This leads me to question the rumor.
  21. Don't kid yourself. If Iowa St., Kansa St., Ole Miss, Miss St., et al came calling, he would be gone in a flash. Nature of the Beast. Relish him while you got him.
  22. Hey now, don't you go expecting anything! Don't you know how limited we are!?!? We don't have this, we don't have that. Just sit down and be PATIENT!
  23. P O I N T G U A R D
  24. This guy just needs to be patient. Doesn't he understand that we need at least 8 more years here to be competitive in the Sun Belt Conference? Doesn't he know that every other D2 school has a HUGE monetary advantage over poor little us? Doesn't he know that the cup board was bear? Doesn't he see we just need to wait and get certain types of players? Doesn't he see that there is no way to hold anyone accountable because we can't AFFORD to? Interesting he picks a 10-2 team for his new allegiance. Wonder if he wouldn't have been on SMU's board if the TCU/SMU records were reversed. Adios, Mo Fo.
  25. I hope we all can see the problem with this statement.
