  1. Can we close anyone out!!
  2. He'll always be a quarterback in my book. Or maybe a nickelback, with his size. Don't jump down my throat. I'm only kidding! Nice to see positive strides being made with this recruiting class. I'm starting to feel like an 80 year old man that just discovered Viagra.
  3. Wrong, 9 different receivers and one quarterback.
  4. Don't let this guy see the fingers of any professional linemen. He might give up football.
  5. All that is great, but how many 4 star recruits have y'all signed for the defensive line this year? But semi-seriously, with an enrollment of 400,000 and a major stadium sponsorship that cost $150 mil, doesn't this undercut the argument that we must have recognized athletic success to increase the value of our degrees and to further promote the school? And on the other hand, with 400,000 students, just think what kind of athletic program they would have if they could just get a $7 per semester hour athletic fee!!!
  6. Thought you did that on Northwest Hwy.
  7. Again, this not about Deloach, but about the head coach. Who cares what everyone wanted him to do. I doubt that 1 person on this board is qualified to assess and hire a college defensive coordinator. If Dodge hired Deloach because that is what people wanted, then that is yet another reason he shouldn't be head coach. I'm not a huge Deloach supported and never have been. I did think he was a solid hire at the time, and may still be. I also thought that Dodge was a good hire at the time, but think that the end of his service here is fast approaching. Just because you think someone is a good hire doesn't mean you can't change your opinion based on performance. There is no way to be critical of Deloach without being critical of Dodge, and vise versa.
  8. I have no bias against Phillips. I respect both he and Vito and read both of them. I just used the opposite viewpoint to point out your bias against Vito, which, if you feel that way, fine. I just don't see the point of publicly degrading two reporters that take the time to write about UNT.
  9. Thanks...Does every game HAVE to come down to the wire?? But I do wish I were a student again so I could attend all these close games. Well, that and other reasons.
  10. Got an update?
  11. I just realized that I included extra points made for these 40 touchdowns. Big mistake. Figuring we make half of them, make that 22 ppg.
  12. Of course, it could be said that he was just pumping sunshine up Dodge's tailpipe and not accurately reporting the true state of the program. I'm sure that's how many on here view Phillips articles/blogs. I like to read both Vito and Phillips and think both do their jobs well.
  13. Please, never use the NYT as a barometer. It hurts your credibility.
  14. Get back to me when he posts something that is inaccurate or a personal attack. Would he be banned or have his level increased (Thanks mods) for anything he is saying if he were posting on this board? It seems some on here think it is partly cloudy with a high of 78, so maybe we do need reminding where we are at every now and then.
  15. Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. I stole that from someone. Riley would then be averaging over 23 ppg by himself. Still 1-11, 2-12? Yes, you fire the coach.
  16. Don't you think the performing arts monument to that team is enough?? Lets try to move forward.
  17. Huge pressure on this guy (well, hopefully, at least from this board) for next year. Hope he knows many eyes will be focused and will expect improvement (which shouldn't be hard). Other than that, welcome Coach Gandy.
  18. Where was your condemnation of Troy Phillips for the opposite slant? Everyone loves someone who agrees with their point of view, and hates those who don't.
  19. Not me. I am a pillar of virtue in the wasteland of biased message boards. Find one biased post from me. I bet you can't. <Sarcasm should be noted>
  20. I hope your right, we could really use some good news.
  21. The head coach is responsible for the entire team. Offense, Defense, Special Teams. We were moderately bad on offense, horrible on defense and special teams. This issue isn't about the D coordinator, it is about the head coach. I am indifferent to Deloach at this point. If there was a new head coach, and he decided to keep Deloach on, so be it. But that new head coach would still be RESPONSIBLE for the overall performance of the team. The fact that we have had two different D Coordinators that have both put the worst defense in college football on the field should say alot about the head coach, no??
  22. I agree and definitely don't think any changes should be made reference JJ. He seems to have built a very solid foundation for the program. I do think we should expect to win the Sun Belt West the next two years.
  23. Thank you for revisiting that fond childhood memory.
  24. The point was that it is the head coach that needs to be replaced, and then he could choose to keep whomever, but would still be accountable. But I guess, to you, Dodge is only responsible for the offense.
  25. If the new head coach decides to keep Deloach, fine. But he will also be responsible for the defense's performance.
