And remember, Awasom committed a misdemeanor, which I bet many of us have committed at one time or another in our life, while Rucker committed a felony, which I bet less than 1% of those on this board have committed. What does "national" mean? Does it mean games on ESPN or ESPN2, which are broadcast in basic packages? Or does it mean having to subscribe to ESPNU to get game coverage? If it involves ESPNU, don't think it's that good of a deal. With the way the Bball team is positioned for the next 2 years, I think the basketball aspect of this contract is far more attractive to UNT.

I've never heard of this Immigration Conference. Are they a BCS conference? If not, I don't think we should join, although some of the road games, especially the one in Guadalajara, would be a blast!! Now, if Cancun is in this conference, I would definitely make that road game every year. Just imagine the tailgaiting!!

We will never make the tourney as an at-large with a .500 conference record, unless we move to a power bball conference or win our conference tourney.

Do you know if this is going through as a one issue bill, or will it be attached to other items? I would hate for this to have the same fate as the law school bill from last year.

Super Pit = Smelly Pit Saturday night. Wouldn't you know it, one of the few games I get to go to this year.

So frustrating (assuming this is true, and you seem to be pretty connected) to have to hear this on a freaking message board!! As an Exes and MGC member, you would think that if this were true, I would have received at least one email or mass mailing asking for a donation specific to the stadium. So sad.

I beleive there is one in the Temple/Kileen area. Yes, Fort Hood. Pretty large Army base, as I recall.

I had to say Bama. I know it'll be a butt kicking, but I'm gonna be there seeing how the atmosphere compares with LSU and Oklahoma. Two great places to watch college football. The fans at both places were nothing but nice to us. Even the LSU fans that gave us the "Tiger bait" chant were almost embarassed to do so. The only loud "Tiger bait" chant we got was when we walked by Frat row. I would have been disappointed if it had been otherwise. Even the frat guys were good natured and gave us a beer. College corner at OU is a great pre and post game hang out spot. Many pretty women. The fans there were also very nice. I have big hopes for Tuscaloosa.

I'll feel MUCH better when serious dirt is being moved (not just the ceremonial groundbreaking). Until then I remain optimistically pessimistic. I wouldnt feel this way if the economy weren't in the crapper. When would construction need to begin by to get this thing done by 2011?

Failure of the Alums, faculty, Athletic Department, people in charge of fundraising, and the City of Denton to get this built by 2011 would be a severe kick in the nether regions to the school, the program, and the students who voted this fee into existence against almost insurmountable odds. GET IT DONE!! If not, many people's jobs should be reviewed. I have yet to receive any contact about any donation toward the stadium fund. Not a big deal for me, because I am active supporter of the program. But my old college roommate, who goes to the occasional BBall and Fball game, has also received no contact. I bug him to give, and he asks me why UNT hasn't sent any mailings requesting such support. He gets other stuff from the school. He tells me he'll give when asked. I think that's probably the way a lot of Alums feel. The students have provided the opportunity, please, RV, if your reading, don't screw this up.

We always say things can't get worse. Well, they are about to. If 3 trillion in "stimulus" goes through, be prepared for a Dow at 5000, unemployment at 12%, interest rates at least in the teens, and inflation on the rise, ala 78-83. The difference will be that the federal govt will have their hand into every major financial business in the country and there will be no hope for recovery. We will then here "the only way is for the government to save you" yet again from these people, leading further down the path of socialism. Let whatever Banks that did bad business fail. Remove any and all federal requirements mandating loans to the underpriveledge and allow the banks to make a profit-based decision on these types of loans. And for Pete's sake, stop with the gloom and doom "worse than the depression" talk. It's like they have never heard of consumer confidence. There is an index, you know! The scary thing is they actually believe this is the right thing to do!
