  1. Does anyone know if there is any television coverage of this game?
  2. My uneducated guess is the Dow goes to 5000. I also see unemployment at 12 -15 %, interest rates eventually in double digits, along with inflation. Very uneducated guess.
  3. People like to think that they are more significant than they really are. It gives their ego a inflated sense of importance and makes them feel better about themselves. For some people, it makes them feel more permanent, less vulnerable, if they feel that somehow they can change a major aspect of the world they live in by wiping their rear end with their hand. They have to feel that humans are destroying the Earth, therefore giving themselves (humans) more significance. Human nature. I wonder, if you were to pole the real hard core in the enviromental wacko sector, what percentage would be practicing any type of accepted religion. We are but a speck in the universe and have no control over what happens to this planet. Accept it already. A large asteroid has a gabazillion better chance of ending life on earth than global warming. We just had one over N. Texas 2 weeks ago. Where were the protests!! This can not be allowed to continue!!! Stop asteroids now!!!
  4. Daughter or somehow related to Scott Davis?? Don't know, just askin...
  5. I am so tired of all the negativity on here
  6. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...ol.be00f94.html I wonder if Chancellor Jackson was whispering sweet nothings in his ear reference the athletic fee.
  7. Again, respected by who? Liberal journalist who respect liberal thought? The point of the story is that this guy will apply for federal relief. The guy said that's what he plans on doing. Do you really have confidence that he will be denied? The more concerning aspect is that people are conditioned to accept less personal responsibilty and rely more on the federal government to fix their problems. Citibank has been nationalized. When the Bush administration pushed through the first bailout, the plan was to only buy preferred stock in all banks, thus having no voting power in the operations of the bank. Unfortunately, this was not a requirement of the legislation, but was still promised by the administration. Pres. Obama reversed this, and now the federal government owns 36% of common stock shares in Citibank, with full voting power. The next largest stockholder owns 4%. For all intents and purposes, this bank is nationalized. The first of many. This should scare the hell out of Americans. Haven't seen a story in the Times about this, have we.
  8. They may have the highest rate, but the total number wouldn't come close to Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, etc... Like I said in the post, it doesn't matter if you make $80k or live in the projects, pay your bills. Thanks for the vague reference to my anger, especially since you have no idea about my life experiences. Very typical. Throughout American history, the right person has been in the right place at the right time for this country to succeed and prosper. I worry that the wrong person is in the right place at the wrong time and that it will cost this country much in the next 4 years.
  9. Not upset by the media, as there really is no unbiased media outlets anymore. Just pointing out there is bias everywhere nowadays. I'm a firm believer in the Men in Black theory toward this type of media! I am upset by a bunch of over-spending idiots that have driven this economy to the point of socialism!
  10. So I guess the New York Times would be better??? Exchange the words Daily News and Post for Times and Obama for Bush in your post and you would be dead on. All the article says is this Financial Retard is looking for a bailout from Obama's policies, which the retard confirms himself. Sounds like accurate reporting (and they didn't even say his record was 1-11 in the mortgage league). Oh, and let's waste more money on the single mother from the projects who has already proven she won't or can't (whichever one, I really don't care) pay her mortgage. This is a sensitive issue with me, having seen many undeserving people magically go from the projects to $90,000 homes, with no means of or intent to pay the mortgage. Most of these people could care less about their credit rating, and often times don't even know what a credit rating is. It doesn't matter if your making $80K a year or a single mother from the projects, it's still your responsibility to ensure that you can afford what you purchase, and not EXPECT a hand out from you or me (yes, it is our money).
  11. No, finding a true point is much easier. Now, finding a true Center is the equivalent of finding the BCS Pro-Style QB. As far as former UNT point guards, give me Deon (referenced in previous post) from the 1988 tournament team.
  12. He can move his rear end to Buffalo and commute as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't have any constitutional right to live in freakin Queens!!! Move your a__ out of the city and tighten the belt. But again, I doubt this moron has the financial skills to do such a thing.
  13. Dom is fine as a combo guard, playing 5-10 minutes max as a point. This team has no true point guard. Dom is being forced to play a role that is not best for he or the team. Stats are great, but I've seen with my own eyes his play, and it's not the play of a point guard. I also agree that this team will be very good next year, but could be very special with the addition of a true point guard.
  14. You don't have to miss it. Just tune into Nickelodian or any of the other kids networks.
  15. Knowing what we have coming back next year, I assume that we would be the heavy favorite in the West in 2010. The problem is I don't know what everyone else brings back next year, and I'm not motivated to do the research. Anyone?? Oh, and please, for the love of Deon, sign a POINT GUARD!!
  16. Plus, he carries a 4.0 GPA. So if he comes and it doesn't work out, no APR (or whatever the he__ that thing is called) hit to worry about.
  17. This is all Florida's fault. Damn 2000 election!!!
  18. He was horrible tonight. At least 6 turnovers. Very bad stretch toward the end of the first half and then falling down (which, for some reason, he did a lot tonight) after a key steal with about 55 seconds left and a chance to cut it to 2. He's just not a point. Hopefully this was just a bad game and he can rebound for the last 2 and the tourney. I still say we win the West going away this year if we had anything close to a true point on this team. But, man, what an overall ugly basketball game by both teams.
  19. Observations from the game 1) Actually, this is 1, 2, 3, and 4. Point Guard. We dont have one. We need one desperately. 2) Turnovers. See 1. 3) We got up 24-15 by pounding the ball down low to Trameil. UALR went on the run when we stopped. 4) 1 player had a particularly horrible game. "1" player. 5) Frustrating to see that 1 player left in for extended periods when Dennis and McCoy were sitting on the bench. Didn't read the thread, so if this has been covered, disregard. GMG...close out with 2 road victories!
  20. If we have only one scholly left, I would much rather see a point guard signed.
  21. Hey, at least we have two writers from competing papers covering our program. That's more than the Rangers can say, now that the FWST and DMN have combined resources. We scoreboard the Rangers! woo hoo!!
  22. damn...was hoping for another fast start.
  23. I wouldn't put him forward as the main spokesman, but I would welcome a positive word or two from him about the stadium in any literature sent to Alums. I think it would be classy for the Athletic Dept to offer him that opportunity, and I bet you he would be happy to see that his University didn't walk away. The smallest gestures sometimes make a major difference. That whole find out who your friends are stuff. And the previous post was just thinking out loud, not aimed at you.
  24. The non-serious side of me did chuckle when I read the club level comment. Awasom was a DE during the part of the 4 year conference championship run. Was doing well with the G-men before getting arrested for DWI. Got cut shortly after arrest.
