I remember going to the old stadium as a kid. Just about everyone was plowed. I seem to remember that they were much like NASCAR in those days, allowing people to bring in coolers with their favorite beverage. As a young lad, I was very entertained by all the fights in the stands. I remember one game, a guy had got mad and threw his cooler at another guy. The water from the cooler landed on the main walkway between the lower outfield and upper outfield section. The water landed right where the walkway intersected with a walkway that led up into the upper outfield sction. For those who don't remember, the outfield seats and walkways were all metal (much like our endzone seats) and when that got wet, it was very slick. We stopped watching the game and started watching the drunks walk down from the upper outfield section, hit that watered down area, and completely bust their a%$. Ah, what good memories!!

Agreed. The second day more than made up for a boring 1st day. Did anyone see Cleveland St winning by 15!?!?!?!?!

Ok, I think it is time we all start making fun of Pres. Obama's intellect. You know, call him names like "stupid yankee" or "insensitive dolt". Maybe we can even get Will Farrell to do a parody of Pres. Obama, maybe a three hour play where Will Farrell portrays Pres. Obama and just constantly insults the handicapped, aged, and infirmed. Maybe he can do a skit of Pres. Obama wrongly picking NCAA basketball games while the economy tanks. Maybe Farrell can also do an over-the-top skit showing Pres. Obama grovelling at the feet of the Iranian Supreme Leader. Maybe we can then get a major network to film the play and air it as a prime time special! What goods times we would all have! But, for this to happen, there would have to be fairness and equality in the media (yes, hollywood is a part of the media). Oh well. I had a flat on the way to work Friday. Somehow, I just know it was Pres. George W. Bush's fault.

Don't confuse the issue with facts!!! I checked the 06 and 07 tourney. In 06, a 13 and 14 advanced. In 07, no one above an 11 advanced, so I guess it just depends on the year. Still seemed boring to me today, probably because of a lack of really tight games.
-
Then they obviously wern't paying attention to the tourney last year, or the point spread this year. This was the hot pick in Vegas, well, at least at the sports book where my friend was at tonight (If only I'd stayed away from the damn under!!!!!). Plus. many of the commentators remarked throughout the day that this was the game to watch. Tell them they just got beat by a better basketball team, that'll completely p them off.

I respectfully disagree. You usually always get a 12 beating a 5, and sometimes two 12s come through, so no real surprise. Most years you get at least one 2, 3, or 4 seed that bites it in round one. It just seemed that today was extremely boring, maybe because of no last second, game winning shots.
-
Pretty boring first day of the tourney. No MAJOR upsets. Tomorrow should be interesting. If tomorrow goes like this, it will easily be the most boring first round of the tournament in the last.....hell, as long as I can remember. And only 2 at large bids for no power conferences. Coincidence? You know its bad when you pick 13 of 16 games right and are tied for last in the online pool!! Damn you, Butler and VCU!!!

VCU down 1 with the ball and 11 sec left if u wanna switch over. In a timeout

So, with three tourney wins (assumption) in the last two years, does WKU's head coach move to greener pastures? Disregard..forgot this guy was new this year.

Need some defensive stops

This thing is great. Really good quality video. You can see all the games with no need to buy a television package. I'll be at home tonight with the big screen on and the lap top in my lap. Finally, CBS does something right with this tournament. I still pray that when the contract is up, ABC/ESPN pries this thing away from CBS. So many mistakes they have made.

Got a buddy in Vegas. Encouraged him to take WKU. There is a pretty small line favoring the Ilini (won't post it on here...scared of the ban man) and the over/under is interesting, to say the least. I think WKU wins this by 10. Illinios has too much trouble scoring points.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/ne...p&type=lgns Sounds like a really good deal for some lucky students of the schools involved. It ain't much, but it's somethin. “Among the things the committee likes about the new setup is, we’re going to have 400-plus students from each of the four schools on the floor behind the baskets. “Those students can come to both sessions—all three games—for $20 total. Last year in San Antonio, if you bought a seat in the same place it cost $220.” I wonder if this includes the bands of the schools, or if they are seperate, or if they even get to go at all? I don't remember if the schools' bands have been at any of the final fours. Too busy concentrating on the games. Anyone???

Uh......think they're on strike now.....So, you kinda violated the whole strike thing........Me?... Conscientious observer. -
This game's highlights were on Dale Hanson's sportscast tonight. Hummmmmmmmm. Two schools not even close to this area. And were on before the Rangers spring game highlights. And was on right after a commercial for UNT!!! Haven't seen a television commercial for the school before!!!

As I watch a nationally televised game on ESPN (the main channel, not the duece) with Brent Musburger as the lead play by play guy, I wonder if it doesn't pay more (in publicity and exposure, not dollars) to be the 64th or 65th seed in the tourney as opposed to being a 13-16 seed. You are the only game being televised in the NCAA tournament tonight, you have a great chance to advance to the next round and get to claim a tournament victory, and you have a chance to send recruits a video of Brent Musburger announcing an exciting play for your team. Just a thought

Would much rather have the kid from Weatherford JC. We need size to match up defensively. But, a short point guard is better than no point guard at all.

Exactly. This is just a different version of the old deny and counter-accuse tactic being used by congress to keep the American people's anger focused elsewhere while they continue to spend our grandchildren's children's money. These congressmen have the gall to call out AIG after all the freakin earmarks that they obtain for their district/state?!?! Please. As far as I am concerned, all of congress should set the example. Take a bow and resign. Maybe with a completely new culture in congress, there may be a slight chance for real change.

Thanks

Something about a 20 something girl who is oblivious to college basketball reporting it on Yahoo gave me cause for concern. That and the fact that UNT is the only college Bball I have been able to follow this year, so I had no independant knowledge. Also too lazy to research my brackets, so it's gonna be kinda like putting on the blindfold and throwing the dart.

Good news for WKU. Illini gonna be missing their starting point. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/ncaatourney If this is old news, please excuse this post.
