  1. Yep, definitely a Kay Bailey supporter. Really hope they don't bring the last, 16 year old pirate here for trial. I don't even know if the federal system has juvenile provisions. Horrible idea. KRAM, this is a high seas crime that occurred in internationl waters. The only role the FBI should have had was as hostage negotiators, and only because of thier expertise in the field (BUT, it's not like they have any experience negotiating this type of event). The operational jurisdiction should fall to the U.S. Navy.
  2. They are bringing the surviving pirate to US soil for prosecution. So many things wrong with this.
  3. Gentleman Chris Adams.... As this is what the NBA has evolved into these days.
  4. We do all the dirty work while the rest of the world gripes about the way we do it. Let them take care of themselves for a while. Here's a thought. Stop paying ransoms and boats will stopped being hijacked. Oh, and when you catch these pirates, do what was done to the carribean pirates. Hang them by the neck from the mast of the ship (ours or thiers) until thier bodies rot to the point of decapitation. I pray we don't bring the last pirate to American soil for "trial". So many complications with this senerio. The biggest being the exposure of the identity of the Navy SEALS that participated in the rescue.
  5. How many troops have they sent to Iraq an Afganistan? SCREW THEM.
  6. Your right, I can't prove which way you will cast your vote. But it's really cheap to say "I'm voting for Kay Bailey in the primary", like this makes you some kind of moderate, and then not commit to her for the general election. It makes you seem like you just really don't want Rick Perry re-elected, so you'll swing by the republican primary and cast your vote, and then vote Dem in the general election, much like many conservatives in Texas voted for Hilliary in the primary. If you want to do this, no problem, but be honest about it
  7. The little Rangers are now 3-0. As long as they keep scoring over 10 runs a game, I see a World Series coming at the end of the year!!! Remember, you heard it here 1st, unless it doesn't happen, then...uh...nevermind.
  8. The tea parties are focused on congress.. But, GO DEMOCRATICS. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT...WIN, WIN, WIN So funny to see people blame Bush for the debt, yet be totally OK with Pres. Obama quadrupling the budget, just as it is funny to see people horrified by Pres. Obama's spending, but totally OK with Bush's spending habits. They (politicians) got you right where they want you. How about we not balance the budget, but actually spend less than we collect in taxes, and use that surplus to pay down the debt. You know, like most of you do in your house every freaking day. What a concept. Too bad neither party offers this as a solution.
  9. I don't see why you would want to rob your child of the valuable experience of learning social interaction with thier peers (kids thier own age). I'm against home schooling, but I am biased. Like anything, this can be used for truely evil purposes. The main one is a parent who wants hide the fact that thier child is being abused. Schools are required by law to report any injury that is suspicious for abuse to the appropriate authority. Abusive parents know this, hence "home schooling" is an easy way to avoid the abuse being discovered and a means to extend the control over the child. I am talking all forms of abuse. I'm sure there are very good parents that home school thier child very appropriately, but the flip side is also very prevalent.
  10. I don't count on anyone, especially JUCOs, until they are in school and in practice. Relying on JUCOs to make your team better, especially ones that aren't even enrolled, is a dangerous proposition.
  11. Yes, that's right, your 1st place Texas Rangers. All by themselves, one game up on the division. GOOD Things ARE happening for the Texas Rangers. At least for now... If they win the West, remember, I told you so...sort of
  12. Thats exactly what it was, a generalization. As far as you voting for Kay Bailey, will you be voting for her in the general election? Not the primary, the general election. Somehow, your political position in your posts lead me to believe you will vote in the Republican primary, and then vote Dem in the general election. Am I right?
  13. Political cheerleading. He is comfortable with whatever Obama does because he voted and supported Obama and doesn't recognize any spending, even if it is 500 trillion, as being too much because Obama reflects his value system. It's a two way street. Where are all the post from the conservatives on this board when the Republican congress and President G. W. Bush continued to rack up debt in the mid 2000s? Non-existent because you believed he represented your value system and didn't dare question the debt when you continued to receive tax breaks. Politics has become like cheering for your favorite sports team. If the ref blows a call in your favor, well, that's ok, but if the ref blows a call that goes against you, you yell and scream and are shocked by the injustice of it all. Funny how neither party in the last 8 years has ever SERIOUSLY pushed for a spending reduction. Dems push for a spending increase, Repubs push for tax cuts. Niether address the main issue. There are two parties in this country, a socialist party and a democratic party. There is no conservative party.
  14. It's common sense. Pres. Obama has to raise taxes to pay for MASSIVE spending package. Pres. Obama enacts sin tax on cigs because he can deny this is a tax hike. This tax will not be enough to pay for his spending. So, what other sin tax could be enacted? Gas and alcohol. Go to Canada and see how much these items are taxed. That is what is going to happen here. Someone could research the Canadian tax rate. Not me. Too Lazy.
  15. Gas tax to follow...Alcohol tax to follow.. Wonder if that affects anyone on this board.
  16. I just wish they would fix the potholes. They should use that money to fix the darn potholes!!!
  17. I always thought John Stossel did very researched, fair reporting. He gets to the facts, which sometimes makes both parties mad. Politics has become modern day sport. Everyone rooting for thier team while holding none of thier own team's players accountable. Politics immitates Sport? Sport immitates Politics?
  18. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wake me if lead gets under ten. Still can't believe Mich St made it this far.
  19. Do you feel the same about Keith Oberman, John Stewart, and the rest of the Hollywod elite as you do about Coulter and Keyes? I think it's just a matter of political perspective.
  20. I agree. I think RV has done one heck of a job upgrading facilities. Better than any AD that proceeded him. I think people are just frustrated that the most visible sport in the program went from the cusp of admission into the football semi-elite to the worst football program in D1A. I'm sure RV is frustrated, also. Does anyone doubt we would have a different conference affiliation in two years if we were currently in the middle of the 4 year conference championship run right now, with a new stadium coming in 2011? Timing. I think this frustrates people and makes them look past the improvements made to all programs (besides football) under the current AD. Sometimes, you don't realize what you have until it's gone. I think RV has already left quite a legacy at UNT.
  21. Yea, you did. I only read the title and first half... The title confused me.
