  1. Bring all the numbers you want, some things are just self-evident. Justify it any way you want, but it all comes back to sacraficing the moral and legal for convenience, which is so chic in society nowadays on just about every issue.
  2. Now THAT looked like the old Rangers.
  3. Abortion - the biggest example ever of compromising morality and legality in order to make life more convenient for the irresponsible (in almost all cases).
  4. This just makes me wonder what effect that job had on Tiller as a human being. I would think it would be extremely hard to watch human life be taken day after day after day, for what, 25 years?, without having some psychological effect on Tiller. You think your job is mentally taxing, imagine having people call you a murderer for 25 years, and in some corner of your mind, wondering if the people calling you that are right. Imagine witnessing human life after human life being destroyed by your own hands. Would have been interesting to see this guy's personality.
  5. Ya, tell that to Lindsey Lohan, Ann Heich(Sp?), and all the other publically gay/not gay people who can't decide where on the sexuality meter they land. I suspect if you got every single gay peson to sit down and talk honestly about thier childhood experiences, especially sexual experiences, you would find that in over 90%, these childhood experiences shaped thier sexuality. For some, it may be sexual abuse, for others, sexual experimentation. And what about the bi-sexual people? Are they born that way, too, or just really indecisive? To say that "they are just born that way" is ignoring so many things that factor into what I like to call "Sexual predisposition". Hey, I played Dracula in the school play when I was in 7th grade. It didn't make me want to kiss a man.
  6. Nothing to do with police or lawyers. Has everything to do with witness identifications. Very unreliable. Hell, sometimes I can't even remember what my girlfriend looks like, at least that's the excuse I use.
  7. Explains why Dallas County is going broke.
  8. Completely agree with this, as long as this is not a thinly veiled attempt to eventualy get to marriage.
  9. A lifestyle that is in the extreme minority in our society. And actually, I should have said all of his family members, because living that lifestyle does affect/effect your entire family.
  10. Would be interesting to know who caused the friction with Gingrich. Was it because he was outspoken in his opposition and refused to accept his sister? Or, was it because his sister was outspoken and refused to accept a family member who wouldn't confirm her feelings about herself? But each would probably say it was the others fault.
  11. af⋅fect1  /v. əˈfɛkt; n. ˈæfɛkt/ Show Spelled [v. uh-fekt; n. af-ekt] Show IPA –verb (used with object) 1.to act on; produce an effect or change in: Cold weather affected the crops. 2.to impress the mind or move the feelings of: The music affected him deeply. Just in case you were being a word snob.
  12. Another example of justification. Because it affects him, he doesn't take a strong position on the issue. Does anyone really think that he wouldn't be anti-gay marriage if not for his daughter? Simple human nature. Because one of my family members is affected, well, I guess it's OK. This society is on this slippery slope in so many ways. Really, what would be wrong with saying to your daughter "I accept you for who you are, but don't accept the lifestyle you choose to lead" if that's the way you really felt (and he may have done this in private, who knows). Into the abyss we slide. (Feeling a little over-dramatic).
  13. Won't know until there are more details, but that nevers stops people from forming opinions. Fire away. http://www.star-telegram.com/news/story/1405516.html
  14. Not only that, but the City of Arlington has been hoodwinked again with the promise of development that has not and will not (at least in time for the Supebowl) occur. Fool me once... Cluck should be thown out on his ear. Arlington will get all the expense and risk of the Superbowl while Fort Worth and Dallas reap most of the economic gain. Arlington will also attempt to do stadium security on the cheap, so I'd wait a couple of games and see how it shakes out before going anywhere near that stadium.
  15. Hooters? So last week. Give me Bone Daddy's anyday. Higher quality of .... food?
  16. I had a dream last night that UNT beat MTSU 54-52. Seriously. Not a good omen.
  17. "The other side did it, so it's OK if my side does it." So 4th grade. Bush is no longer president. Please join the rest of us in 2009.
  18. 11 games over, best record in the AL, second best record in baseball, 5 1/2 game lead over Angels, and the offense finally showed sigs of life. Good times. I would love a split on this 6 game road trip
  19. I think he should be treated just like Bush. Let's ust call him a moron, make fun of his midwestern accent, come up with conspiracies about Biden, and move on. That would be the fair thing to do, right?
  20. When will the Republicans learn that they are an OPPOSITION party. While I expected this type of nomination and think Pres. Obama has the right to make it, I also think the Republican party has a duty to harshly critize, vehementely oppose, and attempt to discredit this nominee. Jeez, please take a page from the Dem's playbook here. So much to work with (the racial comment, the vote on the Firemen promotions), stop looking down and shuffling you feet and be an OPPOSITION PARTY. I refer to the below. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090530/ap_on_...r_gop_divisions
  21. If you are in Ft Worth, try Charley's on Old Ganbury Rd. bout 2 miles north of I20. Just a hole in the wall, but a great burger.
  22. Just remember you heard it here 1st. Rangers win division and 1st playoff series. Unless they don't. then please forget it. I'm going on the "they're due" theory, same one I use at the horse track.
  23. Rangers sweep doubleheader from A's with a good spot start from a triple A pitcher. When is the last time THAT happened. Now 10 games over, best record in the League, a possible 4 1/2 game lead ovwr the Angels. Now that they are 10 over, there is no stopping them. ALCS at the very least.
  24. That dumb southern hick. Nothing but a bubba. His Vice President is really running the show, anyway. So stupid..... Oh wait, wrong President.
  25. Apparently, you read none of my previous posts.
