Thank You To Our Alumni Association For The Event Tonight.
UNT90 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Not true. We need a disco destruction night. We fill Fouts with the added benefit of the fans destroying the old goat during the promotion. Let's just have the promotion after the game to avoid a forfiet. Or have it before the Troy game to avoid the inevitable. -
Dead on. I doubt Thomas will hold onto this verbal commitment, but the more talent that arrives in the conference, the more talent the conference attracts in the future. I really look forward to watching Holman next year.

Is J'mison Morgan A Possible Future Recruit?
UNT90 replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Basketball
We can always dream. It would seem logical, but I bet he would look at Baylor before UNT (major conference competition and immediate playing time). Not to be nit-picky, but it was the 1988 NCAA tournament team on which Ronnie Morgan played. He wasn't 40, but he was definitely a man. -

I will be at a bar in Austin tonight, so bring on those extra innings! If I can stay awake that long. -
Coker Starting Over
UNT90 replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Ya, no Longhorn influence on that program. Just look at the "school sign" Coker is throwing up. Look a little familiar? I guess they'll just claim every hook em sign thrown up in San Antonio. Ya, we should really be worried. -
I'm not asking for Mr. All-World point guard, just someone that can D up against a 1 when needed. Currently, there is NO ONE on this roster that can do this. You have much greater BBall personnel knowledge than I, so surely there has to be a defensive specialist at the 1 on someones roster that is a backup. The Mavs don't need the guy to score. Hell, they dont need any offensive production out of him at all (can slide Kidd to 2 on defense and keep him at 1 on offense), just someone that can cover the 1.

I would love to attend one of these if it were held somewhere in Fort Worth. KRAM, is there a FW chapter and would they have a similiar event? -

Screw Hunter. I deserved better! It's 11 freaking 30! -
What was missing from those bowl years was a significant, headline grabbing, win (while Baylor was nice, it was Baylor). If we could have registered a win against Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or any of the other winning BCS programs during those years, you would have seen alums return. When the best you can do is a 27-0 loss to UT in those games, no one other than hardcore fans are going to sit up ad take notice. Thats just how it is, especially in this market.

The old CJ makes a brief (Hopefully) appearance. Grooves one for a 3 run dinger. Soooo close to the season's best rcord. -
I still think they need to make a move for someone who can D up a legit point guard. If not, they better plan on scoring about 115 a game. Utah, San Antonio, New Orleans, and LA (and I'm sure I am missing some others with young, quick points) should kill the Mavs in a 7 game series if both teams are healthy. I think this is a start, but I hope they are not done. Head coach was on the tickt this afternoon and said "stay tuned" when asked about future trades. I would love to see them move both Damp and JHo.

I could kill my great grandfather for dirtying up that pure German blood by slummin with that lowly half Dutch, half Spanish Wench. I could have had blond hair and blue eyes! -

It could be worse. Some I've dated want to talk everything to death, even after it's clear there will never be an agreement. Your senerio doesn't sound too bad, as long as she still... comforts you at the end of the day. But something tells me that doesn't happen. -

Saw a stat on him during last night's broadcast which showed him to be a much better pitcher pre-all star break than he is after. Just sayin -
It's a fire that was kindled by the resignation of Clinksdale for "family reasons" (always suspicious, even though it may be completely true) and fed by the comments of our biggest monetary supporter. This board did nothing but express concern. The two things happening so close together is one huge coincidence, or is it? Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Potential donors will ask the same questions before letting go of their money. I accept RV's explanation, but I expect a stadium in 2011.

"I do Feliz, Salty, Beltre and Main, Ross or Kiker in a heartbeat. I’ll throw in a Poveda or something too … maybe take Barajas back in the deal to help with our C depth. I don’t move Smoak or Holland or Perez … because I don’t think you have to …… I don’t think the above deal can be matched by anyone else." A comment from a reader of that article. I agree with the principle that he states here, although I'm still in favor of giving this thing one more year to develop. -
Agree, better than last year, but who plays defense? Kidd at 1? way below average, can't stop the drive Howard at 2? good defender at 3, average at best at 2 Marion at 3? don't recall him being a great defender, but not all that familiar with his defensive prowess (which says something). Dirk at 4? hahahahahahahahahahaha Gorat or Damp at 5? again, not all that familiar with Gorat, but very suspicious of the big white stiff center considering this teams history with the same. Damp = slow, immobile, bad handed old guy. Terry as 6th man? logging huge minutes at the 2 spot, same catagory as Dirk hahahahahahaha I have visions of driving dunks, dunks from sweet assists from a driving point guard, and Kidd playing 5 feet off of Chris Paul while Paul goes for 50. Maybe I'm wrong. I see another trade in the future, possibly moving Howard and Damp.

Question. Is season head to head record ever used as a tie breaker for anything playoff related in baseball? It seems they always just have a one game playoff. -

I hate these west coast late night games, but like a bad car wreck, I just can't look away. Can't wait to sleep in on Saturday. -

He was the stadium PA announcer for the cows, not play by play or color analyst. -
No one knows what goes on behind the scenes. There may be legitimate reasons why contact was not made that can't be discussed publicly. That said, a stadium has all but been promised for Fall, 2011. Failure to get the new stadium done for the home opener in 2011 would be a massive failure that would violate the trust of many alums. I hope this is understood by the Athletic Department.

Roits In L.a. This Afternoon?
UNT90 replied to UNT90's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Only if Jesus's daughter, who really wasn't Jesus's daughter, got up on stage and talked about how she missed her...dad? (Interesting neither male child took the stage...) And, if she could talk about her grand dad's blueray release, that would surely bump attendance up another 5K. -

I guess he just needed a break from Jaramillo. Six good innings from Padilla and the Rangers leave LA in 1st place.
