  1. Well, he didn't actually apologize. That would be "I'm sorry, I made a mistake", not "I could have chose my words differently". But I guess that is probably the best you are going to get from any polotician. This won't go away so easily. He made a rash judgement, and even worse, publicly commented on that judgement. It shows, at best, how inexperienced he is, and at worst, that he lets personal friendships or race influence his decision making process. Those on the right are going to scream bloody murder and those on the left are going defend him and say it's no big deal. Those in the middle will decide when this goes away.
  2. Bout time. I fell asleep while reading the 3rd post on "vacation talk."
  3. So, did T. Dodge make the same demand of RV? Take all of my high school staff or I stay put? So many questions.
  4. Pres. Obama sounded like one of several posters on here, just yakking away without any of the facts. I expect alot more from the Office of the President. When the audio recording of this event comes out, and it will come out, someone is going to be very embarassed, be it Pres. Obama or the police officers. My bet is Pres. Obama will have to do some explaining. Really worries me to see such a knee jerk reaction from the top law enforcement officer in the USA. IF Pres. Obama remarks are proven wrong (he has already admitted they are factless), he will be viewed by many as playing the friend/race card along with the college professor.
  5. Then you would really be confused by confession. I swear I had the same 4 sins lined up to tell the priest from ages 12-18. And I was qouting Oldguy, who was complaining about peer pressure, hence the upside of the baby baptism.
  6. I guess this would fall under the bird in hand principle. My question is, after pitching 3 days straight, will one day's rest be enough? 2 days?
  7. Must disagree. I was at this game. It was 10-0 at the end of the 1st quarter (maybe the best defensive 1st quater of the season) and 27-3 at the half. LSU did not pull their starters until late in the third. And I freakin hate Les (I won't cover the spread for my alums) Miles.
  8. Ugliest women in America. And they even have UNM in town. I guess that would explain the time needed to perfect the micro brew, and the reason to perfect it.
  9. Best thing to come out of this is the stadium is on schedule for the 2011 home opener. It seemed that he wasn't to worried about the contribution level, which says (to me, at least) that they already have a pretty good head start on funding. I still think they should be hitting up the average alum now, but I guess I understand waiting until the final government OK in October.
  10. Technically, Pres Obama is not lying. From what I understand from my vast amount of research (mostly what I've read on here and in an occasional article), you will be able to keep your policy if it is in effect when the socialized medicine bill is signed into law. Therefore, Pres. Obama is telling the truth when he says you can keep your policy. The only problem with that is: How are insurance companies going to continue to remain profitable when all future markets and clients have been eliminated? Well, they can't. But then, we can all just blame the big, bad insurance companies for that.
  11. Which is why I hate relying on JC and transfer players.
  12. Really starting to dig your countdown clock. It was just depressing when it was at 90 something.
  13. Hopefully, Padilla comes through with a complete game and we don't have to worry about the bullpen.
  14. That is one of the good things about the Catholic religion. They do it before you are one year of age, taking all the peer pressure out of the situation.
  15. Ron Washington is doing a pretty good job, but that is quite the lofty comparison.
  16. I have spent many a night at the Ballpark during the Red Sox and Yankees games. So irritating to here people who have lived in Texas since they were 4 suddenly sprout the Boston or New York accent. The most irritating fans anywhere.
  17. That 2011 OC schedule is a bear. I would love to see us open the new stadium with a somewhat big name opponent (K-State variety. TCU, SMU, or Baylor would be perfect), but that leaves a very real probability of being 0-4 going into conference play. Not exactly what you want to draw new fans top the stadium.
  18. Actually, he kinda threw like a girl. While he did get it near the strike zone in the air, a little leaguer woulda punished that puppy for about 125 feet (a home run for a little leaguer?). Compare that to Pres. Bush's ceremonial 1st pitch after 911. A Pony leaguer would have had trouble with that puppy. I'm taking Bush in a baseball draft, but I'd take Obama in a Bball draft any day of the week. Here is outside jumper is money. Do they have ceremonial first shots in the NBA?
  19. Spelling Nazi. Apparently, only the thinning of those that can hear.
  20. And eliminate 2 carbon dioxide producing entities! Nothing like a thinning of the heard to solve all of our problems.
  21. Agree. And I have learned the hard way to stay away from UNT games (see LSU last year....legal bet made in Vegas)
