Went to the game tonight with last second tickets from a buddy. Show up and we are sitting in the club box, 2nd row from the railing, 30 feet up the line from 1st base dugout. SWEET. 8 of 9. 14 over. GGB, tried to listen on the way home, but lost yall in W. Fort Worth, and niether of the FM stations worked. So frustrating.

Talked to a coworker/huge OU fan. Said the book on Stradford was great speed/no hands. Lets hope he is right on the first and wrong on the second.

Just trying not to ignore the other side. Everyone has a ball with Palin, but good old Joe just keeps playing the role of Obama's crazy uncle without getting his proper due. That strikes me as funny, considering he IS the Vice-President and Palin is (or at least should be) old news. Why does the image of Billy Carter come to mind? More crazy Joe posts, less Palin posts. Just think it's a little more relevant.

I wonder how Joe would react if he was ever questioned in the manner that Palin was questioned by Couric, but, then again, that will and has never happened. Rangers pick up a game as the Angels give up 4 in the top of the 9th to lose to Cleveland. Angels now have lost 2 in a row for the first time since....April?? Don't count the Rangers out yet.

No, it looks like he just turns out for his donors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like this is for something similiar to the Mean Green Club?? If so, he is just meeting with donors, not the average OU fan. I credit Dodge for the online thing. The average fan can ask a question to the head coach. I would be willing to bet that never happens at schools like OU and UT.

I swear that Ian Kinsler has been spending to much time on the golf course. His swing is almost Tiger worthy. Too bad he is a baseball player and not a golfer. Hunter looks average so far. (secretly hoping that Kinsler will again respond to my criticism with a game winning homer)

Media will always call Republicans stupid. They have been doing it since Ford, and did it to Reagan, the great communicator. The vast majority of Americans understand this and, I think, take it into account when deciding issues. It is a shame that there are very few fact based reporters left in this country (and basically no investigative reporters). They either report for the left or for the right. Their profession has sunk to the level of a politician in my book. The problem is the left has control of what I consider mainstream. Almost all newspapers (who reads them anymore anyway), ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN, The right has Fox News and talk radio (kinda outnumbered). If you went through all of Pres. Obama's speeches, you surely would find highlight reel material to make him look like an idiot. But that is more of a left media function than a right media function so far. Just look at Pres. Obama's comments on the Cambridge deal. Everyone who speaks publicly 100 times a year is going to have embarassing moments. I don't like her, but see no reason to constantly ball kick her.

Could be wrong, but I think he was commenting on the field goal kicker's improvement from last year to this year. Maybe that was what he said the first year, and that should have happened that year, considering the personnel we had on defense. I understand the typical coach speak "we expect to be competitive in every game and compete for the New Orleans Bowl" lines, but he seemed to go beyond that to me. That gives me a little hope, especially since Coach Dodge has to know that raising expectations without reason would not be a very smart thing to do at this point.

So what you are saying is other families shouldn't have that same right? Come on, let's all get in a death penalty debate until someone gets banned!!!

I just spoke with a work buddy who is a big OU fan (and, amazingly enough, he actually attended) who can't believe that I got to ask the head coach a question. Sometimes being a "small" BCS school has it's advantages, I guess.

Actually, I am very conservative and think Palin is unacceptable as a serious conservative Presidential candidate. Everything that comes out of her mouth is scripted by political backroomers, much like our current President. Her accent is annoying to the average American. She should have taken care of her family first when her daughter got pregnant, not run for Vice-President (and this would go for any male candidate also). Her selection was a cheap political gimmick by a democrat disguised as a conservative.

Huge talk from Coach Dodge about the possibilities in this upcoming season. While this has got me a little excited, I will also be wary of his football knowledge after this season if this team is not vastly improved.

Did Rivals rate Dodge as an athlete or as a quarterback? I know he was mainly recruited as an athlete by the big conference schools. It would be interesting to know what rating he would have been given strickly as a quarterback. If you think a freshman QB will be better than a 2 year starter at the college level, well, more power to you. I do hope we rely on the running game (including R. Dodge) more than 50% of the time this season, as I think that will be the strength of the offense.

I was so happy to see the Rangers score 6 of 7 runs yesterday without the use of the home run. Hopefully a sign of better days ahead???

Good thing they didn't find that dimebag in your shoe. I have a feeling, from seing this cop's record, that when the tapes are released (which they may never be. Just a little political pressure on the PD from the White House?) we will find out that he had no other option but to arrest this guy. And yes, that situation can occur very easily. It never ceases to amaze me how some people can talk themselves into a night in the city jail. CBL, you did the right thing and were cooperative and then continued with your night. You didn't use the race card or throw out how important you were to the officers. Just imagine if the college professor had done the same thing. His entire contact with the police would have lasted less than 3 minutes. As for "detaining people for nothing", it simply doesn't happen. Cops have to at least have reasonable suspicion for a detainment. What did the officers tell you they were detaining you for? Pedestrian violation?
