10 Funniest people on the board, according to me: 10) Daddydumpsalot - come on, with a name like that, you gotta make the list 9) Green P1 - ya, I know, he's annoying and tries waaaay too hard... constantly, but he does occasionally find a gem 8) KRAM1 - yes, I find unbridled optimism amusing 7) Meangreendork - anyone who constantly racks themselves on the political fence makes me chuckle 6) UNT2012 - "I work for the AD" B.S. made my summer. Haven't seen him in a while, maybe RV read his posts. 5) Quoner - I don't understand most of his humor, but what I do is good stuff. PS - you woulda been higher if you would get off my baseball scrotum. 4) Tasty Greek - I don't understand most of his humor, but what I do is good stuff. PS - points deducted for being Quoner's Siamese Twin 3) TFLF - I don't think he means to be funny, but I can't help but smile at the constant negativity. 2) UNTFlyer - A new stadium at UNT? hahahahahahahahahahhahaha.... oh, wait. And, in the original theme of this post, the winner is... 1) GreenPanther - I expect great things. *** This is strictly done with my own judgement with standards of which only I am privey. This is also done with tongue firmly planted in cheek**** -
I'll go with Craig Robertson. I see a interception, fumble, or blocked kick return for a TD in his future. As far as blow up if we lose, I'll go with Lifer or Kram. Hey, it has to happen sometime, right?

You did see us play last year, right? Make major improvements and still being toward the bottom of the college football rankings this year is mutually inclusive.

Wasn't what we were talking about. It was about one person feeling safer in a foreign nation. But, I do agree with you here. The problem is the better equipped pickpocket must be willing to use his skills, and not blindly trust the less taleted pickpocket to be honest. Pres. Obama doesn't strike me as a leader with this capability, much like Jimmy C. -
What ever happened to the midnight madness green vs white game? Is that a thing of the past? If so, what a shame. I remember those games fondly from my time there.

I was invited to a tailgate by a good friend who is a Longhorn Fan. I usually make one of his every year. Of course, I wear my North Texas shirt, which seemed to cause less perplexity this year than last. While tailgating, I suddenly hear several people doing the "Caw, Caw" thing and look over to see them throwing up the talons. I walk over and discover that they are 5 UNT grads down tailgating in Austin. Yes, they were wearing UT crap, which I lovingly chided them for doing, and had graduated from 2000 to 2003. One couple lived 5 miles from Fouts, and all were in the DFW metro area. All of them talked of how they had watched the first game and had much hope for the season. All said they had planned on attending the 2nd game before the monsoon changed their minds. None knew of any tailgating that occurred at UNT and seemed surprised when I described the scene to them. All said they had already planned on attending the homecoming game against FAU (and they did know FAU was the opponent). I encouraged them to come by my tailgate and told them of the free beer and wings offerred by the Bud Light guys. The 3 guys were faily familiar with the team and had been keeping an eye on them through the season, they just need a reason to come to games (much like myself 4 years ago)!! Please, just a decent team with a little promotion and I promise you we will average 24K a game. They are out there. Win, promote, and they will come.

Where is this game being played. The recent last name changes and similarities in those names has left me befuddled.

Several problems. You do realize that Heupel was listed at 6'1", right? So, figuring OU fudges like every other college program on the face of the earth (still don't understand why), that would make him exactly 1" taller than Riley. I know size matters, but one inch? Really? Also, as I remember, not the best long arm in the college game. Also, Riley was out for the year last year after three games at receiver, so I think the injury argument is kind of weak. I do agree that we should recruit a competitive QB, because, as someone has already mentioned, running QBs get hurt in college football. Fact of life. You should always recruit to get better at every position. But speaking of Heupel, maybe he could be your OC replacement, or maybe the next HC: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewc...1&year=2010 Also, with all this extra responsibility (co coordinators offense and defense), these coaches are gonna want a pay bump. We have seen how having co-head coaches has worked out so well for the cowboys.

Your 2nd Place Rangers

Ya, but I was kinda talking about the UNT parallels than anything else. But you keep on thinking it's all about you. -

This from the Newburg Report. See any parallels? "There’s room for improvement everywhere, but the trends are good: This fan base is a sleeping giant." -
I see wins against FAU, WKY, and ULM or FUI, but not both.

Ya, and last Thursday they said it would be sunny this past weekend. 48 hours out and they whiffed completely.

Thinking About Next Year - There Is Reason For Optimisim
UNT90 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Hopefully we will take the steps from being an average high school team in 08, to being a bad BCS team in 09 (ranked near or in the 100's), to being an average BCS team in 2010 (ranked in the 60-80s). Looking at the big picture, these are huge steps. But the question will always be how did we get to the high school level in the 1st place. Que the Dickey vs. Dodge argument in 3, 2, 1... -
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news...p&type=lgns Dang, Ole Miss should bench this guy. He sucks.
-
Maybe your right. Maybe we should bench him and never learn what he could be. Maybe what he is, is a redshirt freshman QB taking over the worst team in college football last year and starting his 5th game next week. Just sayin...

"Freedom River" by Andy Williams? "Freedom walk", the latest dance fad? -
Dude, lets not get crazy. He has proven he can recruit, but not yet that he can win. Let's see what this year and the next hold before doing anything either way.

Or is it that you just perceive a change because you feel better about President Obama than you did about President Bush? I'd bet just about every conservative feels more at risk and every liberal feels safer when traveling. Just Human Nature. Also, don't mistake niceness/political agreeance for safety. -
Reading this, I sure am glad that I chose to skip this game, not even watching on TV. Everyone needs to take a breath, enjoy competitive football for a change, and remember that this is a very young football team. Young teams make mistakes. Riley is the future, and he will have to learn to protect the ball, and he will. I am just going to enjoy going to the FAU game knowing that there is a very good possibility that the game will be decided in the 4th quarter, not the first 10 minutes. I see 2, maybe 3 more wins this year. Next year is the year.

Nasa Bombs Moon......
UNT90 replied to CMJ's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I think this is a retaliatory strike for the recent earth quake and tsunamis that must have been caused by the moon's gravitational pull on the Earth. If only the moon would have allowed the UN gravitaitional inspectors to do their job, this would never have happened. Do we have proof that the moon actually has a gravitational pull? That evil Darth Biden is behin this maniacal attack, I just know it!!
