  1. I heard this today. You gotta love Leach, even though he is bat s@$& crazy. Do you think his team got the point? Bet they did.
  2. Riley being back should ensure our first home victory in almost 2 years. He will really open up the running game. Dunbar could go for well over 200 on Saturday.
  3. I was specifically referring to being up 4 points, 3rd and 4 from the opponents 36, mid (9 minutes left) fourth quarter, and you have your 2nd string QB throw the ball, when that QB had just recently entered the game, resulting in a pick 6 for Ohio. And it was this game where the defense had played quite well. Should have never thrown the ball in that situation. I am not calling for Dodge to be fired by any means, but this was the single worst coaching decision of the season, and in my opinion cost us a victory (which would have been a huge confidence boost to a young team). A running play here, and you most likely don't have to worry about any dropped passes from anyone the rest of the game. But all that is history. Flame away. EDIT: When rereading my original post, I think you might be misunderstanding what you have quoted. What I meant by "This changed things in my eyes" is that my expectations for the season were greatly increased by these two games, not that the coaching decision changed the way I felt about the team. Just so there is no misunderstanding.
  4. "We can't beat anybody" "We will win our next five games" "We stink" "We got talent" The emotional rollercoaster continues. I said 2-10 at the start of the season. But, things change. We beat Ball St., and should have beat Ohio (absent coaching errors). This changed things in my eyes. Alabama = expected. Then came MTSU and I saw the defense give up 30 points in the 1st half to an offense that had a QB who couldn't hit an open receiver more than 10 yards down field. I stayed optimistic and avoided watching the ULL game, where the defense gave up 14 unanswered 4th quarter points to lose the game. I then attended FAU, where I watched another conference opponent's 0-4 offense post 30 points in the second quarter. Watching that, it became obvious to me that the defense was not Sunbelt D1 quality. I made several posts warning of a Troy romp (toot, toot), even predicting that they would score over 50 (Didn't figure they would just lay down on offense in the 4th qtr). Predictions change as the season progresses. There was great progress made in the first 2 games of the season. All of the sudden, we are able to cover kickoffs, kick extra points, punt the football downfield with little pressure on the kicker, make defensive stops, fly to the ball on defense, and play with confidence. Then, for some reason, everything changed. Suddenly, we are getting extra points blocked, our punter is under constant pressure, causing him to look quite ordinary, we can't stop poor offenses, and we are back to getting our doors blown off by the conference measuring stick. Why? Why do we appear to be regressing? THIS is the most concerning thing about this season. They are young and should be getting better with experience, but this doesn't appear to be the case, especially on defense and special teams. Considering all this evidence, I firmly believe WKU is our last chance at a victory this year. As always, I hope I'm wrong.
  5. Now THAT is a positive.
  6. From the mouth of babes. When the critizism stops, so will the caring. The day that we lose 50-26 and no one is griping about it on here is the day when we go back to D1AA football. I look forward to the day that we lose by 3 in a bowl game and people are on here calling for the coaches head. Why? Because that means they care about the program.
  7. This is the reason I said in another thread that it is an embarassment that Troy has dominated the Belt for the last 4 years. A program with no potential dominates one with all the potential in the world, but can never seem to capitalize on said potential.
  8. The sad thing is some are willing to settle for losing as long as we are competitive. Losing is losing. And it sucks.
  9. So let's say we are terrible again next year and Coach Dodge gets canned after. Then we will have a new coach in his 1st year going into the new stadium. I don't think we will make a sexy enough hire to excite the fan base. I'm not smart enough to have the answer, but I think you either make a move at the end of this year or you gut it out through 2011. That is one HUGE gamble.
  10. Anything less than a winning record and bowl eligibility should be considered unacceptable.
  11. Ditto EE, if you really believe that they can win every remaining game, put your money where your mouth is with a sports book in Vegas.
  12. The forum was killed by GMG.com crashing, but your post was an appropriate end to the game thread. EDIT: Misunderstood you. Maybe your post caused the forum to crash.
  13. I do not consider the MTSU game to be competitive. 30-7 at halftime is NOT competitive. Undiscipline teams turn the ball over. Bad teams are undisciplined.
  14. So much wasted potential (so far). Will we ever win? It's embarassing that Troy has taken our place as the dominant team in this conference.
  15. I don't think we have the ability to blow out anyone. I expect this to be a close game, decided in the 4th.
  16. RV will be faced with a tough decision, and I'm not calling for Dodge's head, but this whole "sigificant progrss is being made" is a load of BS. We are 1-6, headed to 2-10 at best this year. If we do have significantly better talent, whose fault is it that we still can't win games? WHose fault is it that 3 of the 4 conference foes we have played this year have scored 30 or more points in the first half? Whose fault is it that we can't kick a PAT? I refuse to settle for moral victories of being competetive, but still losing, to the really bad teams in our conference.
  17. Troy put in their scrubs, allowing us to score 2 more TDs than we would have. Of course, scoring 4 TDs, we miss 2 PATs. How can one area of a football team continue to be so bad for so long?
  18. I don't think this will happen, but if it does..... ???????
  19. Yep. Terrible defense. And an unbelievable stat. 3 years of mind blowing, piss poor defense. When does it change?
  20. Hopefully, George gives his school a little discount for his talent. You can also tell in his voice that with every loss, its just like another kick to the nads. After all, his voice does seem a little higher. Another blocked PAT. We continue to be a high school team.
  21. George sounds so freaking beaten on the radio. I feel sorry for him and Hank, gaving o watch crap football for the last 4 years. At least we get to skip the away games.
  22. Well, I thought the score would be 38-3...... at the end of the game, not freaking HALF TIME!!!! RV has some tough decisions ahead. I did say I wouldn't be surprised if both Troy and Ark St hung over half a hundred on us. I think I may expand that to Army and FIU, also.
  23. Uh... This was a halftime prediction thread, right? HOW MUCH MORE EMBARASSMENT CAN THIS PROGRAM ENDURE!!!!
  24. Yep, another 30+ point first half for a freaking conference opponent. No one tell can tell me this defense has improved even a little. We just played crap opponents early in the year. I predict by the end of the year, will will average giving up over 40 points per game again.
  25. Don't miss the game next week. It will be your only chance this year to see your 1st UNT victory in person. Hell, and my first chance since SMU in 2006. If we lose next week, we lose out. Another 1-11.
