  1. Thanks for sharing the message, BA. My condolences and thoughts are with you as well.
  2. hell, i was on staff at NTTV for 2 1/2 years, the first 1 1/2 or so housed in a tiny corner of the GAB... we had these old, duct-taped SV SuperCams, and a broom closet of an equipment room not even in the same building. We had one linear editing reel-to-reel machine and one Media 100, which was our pride and joy. We had a great time and made the best of it, though I know I made an effort to try and minimize our limitations as much as possible. You had to think substance over style, and dress up the ugly girl at the dance as best you could.. sometimes, I'd feel like we really pulled it off.. others, hey, it was why I was in college... learn from your mistakes. As for the basketball games, running hundreds of feet of the shoddiest coax cable you've ever seen in your life through the Super Pit and then shooting with things I hesitate to even call cameras made directing the things (using the one portable switcher we had) tougher than it should have been - but we had a hell of a time, and I know I learned a lot and met some great, talented people. Unfortunately, one year the equipment was so bad it wasn't even adequately prepared for us to do a single live game broadcast, orders which came directly from the dept, much to my anger at the time. Anyway, point is, my senior year is when the new RTFP building was built. I remember putting on a hard hat and touring it when it was half finished, and just feeling like a kid in a candy store. The place was AMAZING compared to what we'd called home the previous two years... shortly there after, I know the station purchased new cameras and loads of new equipment, and the new studios opened up a whole new world... so, anyway, things have gotten EONS better facility-wise in the last 5 or 6 years, for sure...
  3. Likewise... in Plano/Frisco area now, and they keep talking about how much we've gotten, it's right on us, etc.... NOTHING.
  4. This has been typical over-excited weatherman hoo-hah so far. Big shocker.
  5. Ah, the debut of Scott Hall... I believe his first drive (3rd qtr, maybe?) he marched us down for a score... those were good times...
  6. Oh, you did NOT go there, girlfriend.
  7. Chicks dig the net punting average. Truman 4Ever.
  8. Dude, his name is freaking LAZER, I don't care WHAT he does.... that's just sweet.
  9. relevancy where??? locked in 3...2....1.....
  10. Yep... ridiculous, dream-like year for the Orange and Blue. Unbelieveable.
  11. Sadly, no, but the issue is that they didn't get the shot. Record has NEVER been the benchmark for a national title at any level conference - see multiple Auburn teams, etc. So, true, BSU isn't the national champion in any poll on any level, but that doesn't take anything away from what they did and it highlights the important part of what they did - cause a legit discussion. Be the first mid-major to make a hard, legit claim to stand toe to toe with a big BCS bully and prove that every so often, David wins. If BSU WAS the national champion in any poll, well then, the mid-majors have arrived, fair shot for everyone, etc... it;s more important to note that the Broncos aren't the national champions on any level -- THAT'S the legacy they'll leave that has the most positive impact long term. That being said, congrats to the Gators as well. HELL of a performance. That was SEC vs. Big Slow on display.
  12. why is he only being offered as a walk on elsewhere?
  13. Exactly... now three PASSES?!? THAT would have been a ridiculous coaching move. By ANY standards.
  14. So the first two plays get you to 3rd and inches and then you run the short yardage demon, NFC TD-leading MB3 on 3rd and don't get it? I don't see the issue. On 3rd and inches, the offense should have a big advantage, and you should be able to lean on the D and get a 1st, especially with someone like Barber. How can this be an example of horrible coaching?? Look, I know you're upset. But take a deep breath and look at this game without a preconcieved dislike for Big Bill. The gameplan was solid enought to put us in the position to win. Period. That cannot be debated. A ballsy third down pass to Witten comes up inches short on a reversal, or else we win. We ran the ball well. Conservative is not always a bad thing-- not at all. And you know, we weren't even that conservative tonight. A couple of simple could-happen-to-anyone mistakes happened to Glenn and Romo, and we lost. Period. It's football. It happens. One team wins, the other loses. Fluky stuff happens. Amazing plays happen. Every game, whether in week one or the playoffs, doesn't need to be punctuated by irrational screaming to the heavens about people getting fired or cut or whatever... sometimes, it's just football.
  15. That... was.... amazing. What coaching are you really questioning, though? MAYBE going for the TD, okay, but even Madden was saying you kick it, you kick it... Parcells was agressive enough to throw for it on 3rd, and came a reversed Jason Witten shoulder lean from winning the damn thing. Come on. Give me a f%$@&n break. Glenn fumbles inside the 2. Romo drops a freaking snap. We come a half yard and a reversal from kneeling on it. Fluky S happens.
  16. Hi Harry - I'd love to be on the list whenever you have a moment... please let me know if you need anything from me whatsoever. Thanks for all you do!
  17. hey, me too! LH class of '97 here. A lot has changed since those days.
  18. Discounting Utah?? Not at all.. in fact, I thinl that Utah team was better than this Boise team, IMHO. I'm just saying this was the first true "Mid-Major beats a title contending, top-flight BCS school" BCS bowl that we've had. Most people I knew PICKED Utah over Pitt... Utah was ranked top 10 at the time, I think Pitt was high teens or twenty-something. Utah's win was just as important because it prevented the "see.. see... Mid-Majors can't even beat a low ranked 3 or 4 loss BCS school in the big game!".... But Boise, last night -- not even in the same league. They beat a team that was one bad call away for possible being in the national title game. A top 5 team. A game that will be remembered for years. Hell, most people out there had already forgotten that Utah/Pitt game...
  19. Urban Meyer's Utah team beat Pitt from the Big East a couple years ago in the fiesta. That being said, that was the VERY average champ of the first year without Miami & VT pre-Louisville Big East, so this is the first REAL BCS win... against legit big time competition.
  20. and that Tech game was just INSANE to watch. If it can move Mike Leach to postgame tears, you KNOW it was something.... poor, poor Minnesota though. Gotta feel for the Gopher seniors especially.
