Special Teams may be the worst in HISTORY. Maybe. Oh, and K St. sucks. Tired of hearing about what an acceptable ass kicking that was. They lost to God awful Louisville and barely held off ULaLa today.

Sun Belt Champion Predictions?
CaribbeanGreen replied to Fitzyrection's topic in Mean Green Football
For me, it's a two horse race: FAU and ArkSt, with the Owls still in the driver's seat. Don't get the Troy lovefest every year.. I know they're good, i know they beat spare to fair BCS teams from time to time, but until they actually show they can win the Belt once (much less not have a horrible conference loss at some point), I don't buy it. They may very well prove me wrong, but until then.... FAU is still the team to beat. ArkSt has looked great so far, but can't see them getting past both FAU and Troy, and still fear the hiccup. MT isn't in the title mix but is still dangerous... LaMo does nothing for me, and though they may trip someone up, they don't have NEAR the consistency.... FIU is better -- they fought USF hard, will be tough at their new stadium, and have a bit of a defense -- they'll still be towards the bottom of the standings, but they may get someone along the way. ULL - not feeling it. FIU may flip them in the standings, and Bustle will be run outta town accordingly. I'll spare my NT thoughts due to bias and/or severe depression. -
Thanks for all your hard work, Flyer. We need 100 more like you. Video LOOKED great, but, as it's been said, we couldn't hear it. 42-10 kind of made it a bit awkward too.

I'm just WAITING for the defense of this. Waiting. George and Hank didn't even have anything... they were stunned. George finally fell back on a "we're thin at WR, I guess Dodge just wants his best athletes on the field" thing, but it was weak at best, and he didn't even sound sold on it. I'm just mesmerized by it.

Wow. Everyone in my section couldn't get over how bush league 20 different shades of khaki looked. Not to mention the flag corps, who couldn't even match shoes. Polos and khaki shorts look like an elementary school band as it is (and a bad one at that), but when a few years into this joke of an idea you still can't come close to a coherent matching color, you are an embarassment to FBS marching bands. Period. Put any other major Texas college marching band up against that. Not. Even. Close. Sounding great is fine, but it ain't enough. Of course, that's the least of this team's problems.... I'm looking at the schedule and REALLY trying to find where a win is coming from....

It was an amazing kick in the nuts. 42-7 in the second quarter. Tulsa could have named their score... garbage time means just that... garbage. Offense can't move the ball. Riley's redshirt is toast. Defense doesn't look even a little improved yet. NO pressure on the QB. Bucketfuls of stupid, brain dead, junior high penalties. Oh, and the Green Brigade couldn't look more bush league if it tried. All around FAILURE tonight.

Hey, we've already had references to white guilt, conveniently "German" neighborhoods being victims of minority crime, and an amusing intentional misspelling of "Aryan"... plus, the reference to all the important pro-white articles published every at on "the internet".... at least i'm trying to make it worth something as far as comedic value, since we're still forced to read it (or scroll past it)... ... in other (sane) news, yeah, I recall hearing about this crime a while back. Not sure which news source. Terrible, terrible thing. Beyond comprehension.

we can suit up Al Hurley's post-El Fenix bowel movement at DE, and our defense will be improved over "Toro" Mendoza's squad. This doesn't shake my foundation.

Sigh. I can't resist. I want to hear you defend slavery and apartheid first, you know, since you can support better than we can, being that we're against it. Good word choice there. I'm sure the ANC's takeover in the RSA had everything to do with their race. Yeah.... how is that relevant? Are you blaming the new gov't's blackness for their difficulty during transition? Why else mention it? I think it may have a little more to do with about fifty other factors, but I won't bore you with those... As for India... yeah, so? The Ganges is their holy river. What's the point? That's their faith. They have a caste system. It's what they do. Your point? And finally -- oh. my. GOD. Yes, EE, a historical fact from Stormfront is worth less than a fact pulled from the drunken mouth of a drunk homeless black South African floating down the Ganges. It's worth less than what I left in the toilet this morning. End of story. Period. If you disagree, then you fall into the same category.

Oh... My... God... CBL, that about covers it. Nice work. That's sickening. Not remotely suprising, given ee's choice of message board (besides GMG, of course), but still a shock. We joke and have our little spats on here, but usually in the end we're all "family" in NT... this, however, is a whole different deal.

George Carlin Dies

it's a short list of comedians who stay funny and relevant for 40 years. Amazing career. EagleD, did everything seem business as usual at the Orleans last weekend? -
Lived in Ft. Lauderdale for several years recently -- FAU is basically UTD-esque, but with sports. The campus looks very new, very community college-ish, and the school spirit is pretty minimum. It's basically where you go to get a degree in Palm Beach County if you don't leave or transfer back close to home. Nothing more, nothing less. The stadium is 30 miles away and a county over, and it's a tiny soccer stadium at that. FAU has literally NO presence in South Florida, despite their performance being very good... I've seen preseason rankings with the Owls ahead of Miami, and I buy that, but it's all Canes all the time... Really, FIU is the prettier package... it's VERY UNT-like to me... HUGE enrollment (30k plus), actually a very pretty, more traditional campus, and some excellent programs (admission standards are higher than Miami in many programs, and rank at or near the top of the SBC)... it's also NT-like in that it's out in far west Dade County (on the periphery of Miami), and gets the "commuter" label HARD, despite having plenty of nice on-campus housing. It's just the curse of the urban university. Of course, FIU gets no pub whatsoever, but that's due to the tradition of inept athletics.. I assure you, when and if they do well, they'll get significantly more notice than FAU -- FIU is in the Miami media market -- when you get to Palm Beach County, it's a separate market (MUCH smaller) with separate local affiliates. It would be like if FAU was in, say, Gainesville, and FIU was in North Dallas. Who would get more pub with equal performance??

CaribbeanGreen replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
what's the status on the FB immigration policy? I know it's not being enforced... hasn't it been declared unconstitutional a couple of times now? Last I heard the judge said essentially "don't bother drafting the same ordinance a different way" but FB was making noise about doing just that... any news there? -

What's your opinion on how McCulloch doesn't apply here? This is actually a productive, non-partisan thread (for once) with intelligent comments from both sides of the argument, I'm curious as to your take as well. I'm not remotely familiar with this particular issue -- my mention of McCulloch was just in response to Flyer's (who has made good observations as well) mention of the 10th amendment regarding state's rights, not specific to this issue. No need for eye rolling. -
Oh, and to me personally, the factoid most embarassing to Al Gore -- far worse than all this minutia-- is that he would have been the President of the United States -- no controversy, no questions asked -- if he had quite simply won the state of..... Tennessee. Hell, even Walter Mondale won his home state....
