Nba Playoffs

Let's say he had.... Nash in the middle? -
It's like every day I get progressively more ticked off your +/- button is gone.

I hate myself for posting in a hypothetical new uni thread, but here goes..... .... my biggest problem with the current unis (which i love otherwise) is that the font on the player's names seems anything but uniform. Not only are the letters in "WHITE" completely differently sized than "THOMPSON", it almost makes it look like a totally different font - maybe it is, I don't know. It's the only thing that looks very bush league on out otherwise legitimately awesome unis.

Oh, so YOU'RE the one. ...and more entertaining? Than..... bone cancer? a prostate exam? Darrell Dickey with a lead?

I will, then you should google "Home Depot #20" and "Talladega" and prepare to be amazed!!!!1!!!

I like to think of your avatar as an arthouse/possibly Euro version of NASCAR's Tony "Smoke" Stewart. You're welcome.

Basketball Team Not Deserving Of Criticism
CaribbeanGreen replied to Glad To Be Green's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Good grief, I missed it too... in fact, this was one of the calmest, most sane and positive responses you could imagine (on a college sports message board) after a gut wrenching loss in the conference title game. Add to the fact this was a senior laden team coming off a NCAA bid, one we almost ALL expected to have a special year and run all-but-roughshod through the Belt, and I feel like a 4 seed in the SBC west with double digit losses and a completely unexpected (by even the most stubborn of pessimists) .500 record in conference - culminating in a gut wrenching 7 point collapse in the final minute plus of the conference tournament - was a season and result that would send other message boards into a bloodlust-worthy tizzy. I'm not just talking about Big XII schools, either... with our expectations and our results, Hilltopper Haven (among others) would be a load nastier than this place was, I assure you. Still, around here, no one was bashing the players. No one wanted the coach's head (some questioned his strategy, but where/when does that NOT happen?). No one said anything but glowing things about this senior class, and rightfully so. It's okay to admit this season was a disappointment and still laud the seniors, the staff, and their achievements - and from everything I observed, this crazy-ass board did a pretty decent job of that. If THIS warranted a bowing-up, defensive personal reply from the AD, I pity the poster who is going to end up with a hockey mask wearing, machete wielding RV come football season. I miss the good ol' days, when ADs ignored fan boards, and when Bill Byrne personally threatened to beat your ass via voicemail. You know, keeping it in house. -

Texts From Last Season

I don't know if I'm happy or sad that I can clearly identify a couple of people from their texting styles. -
Thanks For A Great Season Mean Green

Great senior class. Nice run in the tournament. 20 wins, for what it's worth, once again. That said, with what we had coming back and the expectations off of last year.... if I had told you we'd have double digit losses, go .500 in a down year for the conference, and win neither our division during the regular season OR the conference tournament, "great" would be one of the last adjectives you'd ever give to this season. I'll be honest, in November I'd have found these results unimaginable. While I'll be honest about that, the GREAT thing about how I feel is that that's where JJ has this program. There's not a whole lot at NT with these levels of expectation, and coming into this season, we were in the position to have lofty goals. If we'd had this year a couple of years ago, I'd feel moderately satisfied. As it stands, we're pretty damn lucky this season was a disappointment. I'll miss the hell out of the seniors, but I'm also crazy excited about next year. -
Down year for the conference, double digit losses, .500 record in SBC play..... not what anyone hoped for at the outset of the season, and no chance in hades for the NIT. Wish these seniors could have gone out with last season instead of this one.

We can complain about the refs, the missed FT, the clock management, the multiple inbound play meltdowns in the last minute or so... but if we don't commit the braindead sin of fouling like CRAZY in the final minutes with a nice lead, then UALR doesn't virtually close the gap with the clock stopped. If they are simply forced to run their offense and take shots in the last two minutes, we win. Period. Microcosm of the season. A tough one to take, top to bottom.
-
Yep. Feels about right. Turnovers, Fouls, Missed FTs. A CLINIC on how to choke away a big lead. We need a miracle now.
-
I hope, hope, hope we win.... but this is ROUGH late game play right now. Help me.
-
That screen was..... not a screen.
-
THAT is how you make up for a bad play. BINGO. BRING IT. WINNING.
-
What on earth is happening?!? Are we TRYING to foul?? UALR with 6 straight FTs with the clock stopped in THIS situation!??
-
Still feeling good, but what a worst case scenario play by Josh...
