  1. "dead dropout druggie" has to be the most jarring shot fired in GMG history.... This makes rjmunthe and hip hop Plummer look like Neville Chamberlain.
  2. Not saying their crowd was huge, but that's obviously before the game started. We usually do a pretty substantial fill-in through the 1st quarter. Lousy crowd given the Ponies success? Absolutely.... but Thanksgiving weekend is HARD. ETA: If you look, you can tell this is pre-coin flip.
  3. About 3000+. Good time, hell of a game. Great success.
  4. Wow. That happened sooner than I expected... I applaud you for your bravery, even in the face of the hand crafted comedy you undoubtedly beat to the punch. Hagrid would have cussed at ULM too!!!!
  5. Wait.... so your signature is referring to cheering on the Mean Green to beat Quoner? (also, calling someone a "stupid imbecile" and "jackass" in one post is pretty much a rule violation on any message board I've been to. Using "GTFO", "implying", or "baiting"? Not so much. Thing is, calling someone a "goat f**ker" is kind of more along the former lines, so I fear you may be saying hi to rjmunthe soon. The Greeks are famous warriors, you know. Also, Ouzo.)
  6. Jeez. First we can't cuss out the punter while explaining our defense won't make a single stop, now this. Also, More tribestros. That was the best thing since LoveMG.
  7. The thing is, if we win 4 straight Belt titles and go to bowl games every year, our crowds WILL reflect it regardless of the non-conference.... comparing it to the Dickey area directly overlooks the fact that back then we had ZERO game day atmosphere. No tailgating, minimal commitment from a number of involved parties, horrible facilities, etc. Even with all our shortcomings, we have SO MUCH MORE to work with in place on seemingly every level than our championship teams did. It's not even close in any way imaginable. I just don't think blaming the Sun Belt for our not filling the stadium in the early 2000's tells the story. We beat Baylor 52-14. We beat Texas Tech before we were even Sun Belt good. We played tune up games against the likes of Samford and Nicholls St.... but you absolutely can not compare the scene and the infrastructure around those teams with what you have today. Do that again, and you're gonna be 20k+ every week without blinking.
  8. I LOVE this. In fact, I I LOVEMG it!!!
  9. A) Conventional wisdom says candidates in the general election almost ALWAYS move to the center... at least the successful ones do. Romney is the closest to being already there. B ) Agreeing with Flyer, If the R base STAYS HOME rather than voting for Romney against Obama, who has been their great boogeyman for the last three years, then we should all be thankful that juvenile partisan schlock is not participating in deciding on the leader of the free world. C) What are we defining as "mountain states"? I can't see Romney struggling in that region. D) There's still a long way to go, but slow and steady wins the race.
  10. People said it about Miami a few MONTHS ago. Remember all the "Death Penalty! Now or Never!" talk that was all over national media?? The Canes were going to shut down football!! Institutional failure!!!! yeah. How'd that work out? A couple guys missed a game or two, and we've kinda forgotten about it all. ... it's a horrendous situation, but I wouldn't expect many lasting effects to the PSU program. They clean house, a new young coach/AD/staff comes in vowing to "Restore Penn State!" and everyone buys in... hell, it's even a feelgood story in less than a year. I see no reason to believe otherwise, right or wrong.
  11. You're so lucky to have those 80 great friends.... you're always telling me "I gotta go see the NT 80! I Love the MG!!!! Lucky!
  12. One obstacle for OU is the Stanford/Oregon situation. If Stanford wins that game, they're unbeaten (barring a surprise setback) and in vs. (probably) LSU. if Oregon wins, they're a 1 loss team with an arguably better win - Stanford - than anything OU has, and a MUCH better loss - LSU - than anything OU has. Barring one of those two slipping up, I don't see how OU gets in. Also, I know what you're saying fits on paper.... but I've learned my lesson to bet against Boise. Against anyone and anything. Georgia has SEC talent and has turned into a bit of a buzzsaw (look out, LSU... just saying)... and Boise ran them off the field. I'm not saying the Dawgs are LSU, but to imply that poor little Boise would get embarrassed in the national title game is a dangerous proposition.
  13. Breadwinner's, huh? Well then....
  14. Yup. If I could give a single post more than one +1, this would be the one. What an unexpected comedy treat for Halloween!
  15. Pauly Shore had a dome. How the hell did that work out?
  16. In other words, this is basically an identical (quite a bit tamer, actually) version of every other single college sports message board on the internet, yes?
  17. Per Vito's Twitter account. Tough day, pal. This post has been promoted to an article
  18. Per Vito's Twitter account. Tough day, pal.
  19. Running a screen - and then the guy running to far sideline - is a new level of dumbth. Then again, the Lane Kiffin school of clock management isn't exactly well thought of.
  20. DEFEND THAT, ROMO FANS!!
  21. Well, crap. I teach middle school, and this thread is starting to remind me of work. Also, Prince Fielder will look good batting fourth next year.
  22. Blame Wash all you want... we had our all-star, rookie of the year, elite closer on the mound with a two run lead to win the series. He got beat. That's all you can ask for. And why did the rainout turn everything around for STL and not the Rangers? Because the Cards have an ace they can go to again for game 7. The Rangers had nothing close to an ace all year.... this is not a "GET RID OF CJ!!!1!!" comment - he's a solid mid-rotation guy I'd like to have back- but that was a huge advantage the Cards had. How do you fix it? Well, you might not. Aces don't grow on trees. Wilson, Holland, Lewis, Harrison, Ogando/Feldman/Feliz (possible)? Yeah, you can win with that. The weird Triple Carpenter circumstance was an aberration.
  23. DEFEND THAT, ROMO FANS!!!
  24. pre-American Graffiti Harrison Ford.
  25. Tech's in the top 20 in what again?? Chlamydia cases reported.... maybe? Fanbase? Well, I guess they MAY edge out Baylor. MAYBE. In one week, you've announced we need to cuss more, you've boasted about using the the most mind-numbingly terrible heckle of all time in which you explain to the opposing team's punter that our defense will literally not get a single stop all day, and you've now insisted upon Tech and Texas as having stellar fanbases we should emulate. I don't know what to say, really.... quite a debut. Eff yeah, brah.
