Just watched ESPNU's bowl mania show.... they picked all 40 games via confidence points, and gave Utah State 39 confidence points. Only Ohio State over Washington was higher. The dude - who I've never seen before - gave Mason some love but just simply said NT was overmatched in this one and moved on. It was pretty much the most dismissive lock pick on the entire show, and i am HERE FOR IT. Shoot that disrespect right in our veins and go get a GD ring..... #GMG

What do we know about USU's coaching situation? Wells took a LOT of the staff to Lubbock, are some/any of them staying to coach the bowl game? I haven't seen any new hires yet, so what are we facing here?

I swear, if we have to curtain jerk bowl season as the opening act in an empty stadium in Albuquerque against a coachless ex-Big West conference mate..... Talk about a steep fall from the relevance of the SMU/Arkansas days. Intensely hoping this chatter is dead wrong and we’re anywhere else.

He's still actively tweeting and recruiting, and Snyder hasn't officially retired yet. Right now it's all rumor. Far as I'm concerned, Seth Littrell is our HC well into the future until he isn't.

Albuquerque, while it surely has its charm, is in no way a destination city, nor is it local/easily accessible compared to the TX/LA destinations. But way more than that, it's just the least desirable spot by a mile IMHO. It's on the very first day of the bowl schedule - in fact, it's literally the very first bowl game. Historically, that's the least desirable lowest rung to be on. We did that mess last year. I love NOLA as a city, but it was a bit of a buzzkill to see other CUSA teams we beat playing later on the bowl slate in games that felt like they had more gravitas. You never want to be the opening act. The more practice time and time together this team gets the better..... NM is the bottom of the barrel in that area. Also, NM has a considerably lower payout than Shreveport or Dallas. Not to mention what it does to fans.... NM kicks off in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS. That's insane. It's before anyone is off for the holidays, it makes travel plans challenging, and if it is indeed a G5 opponent, it puts us in a virtual no win situation like it did with Troy last year. Yeah, 10 wins is awesome and I want that really badly, but I honestly think we've got as good or better shot beating a BYU or Miami than we do a App St. or Nevada. Which one gets us attention and headlines? It's just hard for me to see how the folks at the Indy (my first choice), the Artist Formerly Known as HoD, or Frisco wouldn't want NT in the game at this point. We're far and away their best option attendance wise with LaTech gone to Hawaii.

Anything but New Mexico against a G5, good lord

Played on the very first day of bowl season last year. Don't wanna play on the very first day of bowl season this year. It takes away practice/planning time, and most of all, if i'm being honest, it just feels cheap & spare. Later in the season the better. New Mexico can get right the hell out. (Also, i still low key want Indy. It just feels/sounds like the most important bowl of the bunch because of it's history, it's almost guaranteed to be against a P5, and I want to drink free booze and gamble in Bossier before and/or after a Mean Green win.)

Hoping the Venables (or at least the "Tech wants to go defensive" for once) rumors are true.

The all whites are my favorite by a mile, but I feel like we save them for big non conference road games (Army, Iowa, Arkansas)... am i missing a game in there?
