  1. Well he is…for at least a year. Dude needs to cool off.
  2. Was at the OSU Kansas game last week. Bean played into the third quarter until he was benched. His offense didn’t earn a SINGLE FIRST DOWN. I went in rooting for him. Left feeling really sorry. He is on a terrible team, but he was bad. Much worse than we saw him at UNT
  3. Yep, that crowd was legit. It’s criminal that they are stuck in CUSA.
  4. If UAB or Marshall are on the schedule next week, you think we get a more competitive effort than we did a few weeks ago? I’d love to believe it, but I’m gonna stay in the wait and see camp. UTEP and UTSA will tell us all we need to know.
  5. I don’t know their roster all that well, but how many in the 2deep are kids he brought in vs Frank Wilson? At least the most important player on the field is Wilson’s (the QB, duh). I still get it. We’d literally kill to have a season start 8-0. Apogee would be standing room only every week. I’m surprised he agreed to that buyout. I was expecting him to leave for P5 this year.
  6. Once CUSA started talking about pulling up even more FCS schools, with SHSU at the top of that list, I was all for its implosion. Texas has too many FBS teams as-is. I guess at this point LaTech and UTEP have to be looking to go independent, right? Maybe FIU drops down. They have to have the worst supported (by attendance) athletics program in the country…why keep pushing a square peg…?
  7. The same thing that happened to us in 2018 is about to happen to them. Traylor getting courted by Tech mid season is going to drag them down.
  8. What is shocking to me is that this article ranks Littrell 12th out of 12 coaches in the state and he is still employed. We’re behind even Texas St! You have to think that the only thing saving him has been that our Pres/AD had been tied up with conference realignment.
  9. That game turned when they tossed out Gaddie for the bogus targeting call. They toss a TD right over his replacement within a play or two. Then we lose both starting corners. Defense played great, but ran out of depth. Then you have the awful no call on the intentional grounding in the end zone that should’ve tied the game and given us the ball. Can’t remember a game where I felt the refs just flat stole it, but tonight was close. Those two calls were game changing. I hope we’re sending in a complaint to the league office.
  10. Dang it…run and shoot. Sue me.
  11. UCF, UC, and BYU are pretty easy to use the “not a flash in the pan” argument for. They draw big crowds and have been relevant for a while, in multiple sports. Houston is a bit behind those schools. They have the great basketball success up until the late 80s, but football has always been hit or miss for them. I remember watching them in the late 80s and early 90s when they had the air raid and were ranked in the top 5….they always had lots of empty seats at their home games. There is a reason why they didn’t make the original Big 12 cut back in the 90s. Go back just a few years ago when Herman had them really rolling. They drew much better, but they never seem to sustain it. It’s a fickle fan base down there. I, also, do not trust their recent basketball success. How long before Sampson lands in trouble again? All that to say, Houston is a stretch, but smu is a good bit behind them. They have rich donors that keep them afloat and occasionally really competitive, but neither ever seem able to capture the hearts of the masses, or really even their own alumni. So, even though Bowlsby is a douche, he’s not wrong with his marketplace argument.
  12. Smu is pretty well positioned to be the bell cow at the moment. They have held an advantage on us in pulling Dallas area kids, sometimes slight, but currently it feels more extreme. The next few recruiting seasons will be very interesting to watch to see if this move helps us pull even and compete. This year will be tough. Especially if we hang on to Seth.
  13. Home basketball games against Memphis, Wichita St and Tulsa.
  14. I’m just really happy this is happening now, with Mac at the helm and not a few years ago with Benford. Mac is going to play the top teams close, and maybe pull some upsets. That’s just going to continue to make our basketball brand look better, and speed up how quickly we get better and better.
  15. It is going to take a while. We need linemen and size to compete. You win in the trenches and the AAC has bigger and better players on their lines. I don’t buy the recruiting rankings after what I’ve seen on the field this season. I think it’s a lot of smoke and mirrors based on getting WRs and DBs that are plentiful in numbers. I’m much more excited about what the basketball team can do in the AAC. I think we get instantly better access to some higher end talent than we already are getting. We know Coach Mac can utilize said talent already.
  16. What about LaTech? They fit the Sun Belt description, above, to a T. Will they join up with LaLa and ULM, or go independent instead?
  17. I’d be on board with Harrell. The team was fun back when he was around. Not just on the field, either.
  18. Uh, we pay ours $2M on a $500k tv deal. I’m sure smu will figure it out.
  19. Heads need to roll by next weekend. It’s preview day for incoming students/applicants. Liberty is going to beat us no matter what, but we can’t have a team quitting five minutes into the game like the last two home games. Nothing could possibly turn more people away than a team that quits.
  20. Is this “update” just a ruse to keep us from posting more “fire everyone” declarations? 😉
  21. I’m a 20 year season ticket holder who will be on-campus next week for UNT preview day. My daughter graduates high school this spring. We will NOT be attending the football game after the event. I can’t imagine a better way to ruin an otherwise great day. Maybe we’ll be back for homecoming, but I need a break.
  22. Imagine being a recruit at either of our last two home games. I was thinking about that the most while someone behind me lost their crap for the entire 2nd quarter chanting for Kason Martin. I can’t ever remember open booing at a UNT game but it happened tonight. You aren’t supposed to boo your college team. That’s usually saved for the pros. It happening tonight shows that the fans are fed up.
  23. Right there with you buddy. Clean house. Everyone including the water boy/girl/they needs to go. Bring back Diet Coke boy.
  24. Well this thread didn’t age very well. So much negativity and we ended up pulling a sitting coach with a winning record at a G5 school. Some of the points are valid, but McCasland showed that you never know who is lurking out there wanting to get closer to DFW or back in Texas.
