  1. Yes, I think it does. Most of us expected 3-4 wins this year, and optimistically hoped for 5. Finishing 4-8 in my mind would salvage the season.
  2. FIU over anybody? Ballsy
  3. Absolutely, come on down. We should have plenty of food to go around. We'll be out there in a black truck with a TV on the tailgate. Maybe you'll be able to find us?
  4. Who's going to be out there tailgating on Saturday? What are your plans? We're doing brisket and ham and planning to arrive at the stadium around 8 AM. Does anyone know what time the Orange lot opens on Game Day? I hope this tailgating rivals the tailgate before the Navy game two years ago.
  5. Well said.
  6. Absolutely, great to see us win and the #1 seed go down.
  7. This is great news. I'm glad to see that we really are working towards improving our OOC schedule and bringing in beatable, name teams.
  8. That explains it. This is my first year to join the Mean Green Club. I'm not sure why I need it since parking is free anyway, but whatever.
  9. I got mine Saturday. I also got a "blue" parking pass. Is that new this year? I didn't get one last year.
  10. Like everyone on this board, we all want to see our tailgaters come in to the game. I'm a major fan of tailgating, whether at UNT sporting events or other stuff. Some people just come out for the party, and I think it's better to have them at the stadium than down in Dallas or at a bar as Kram said. As our team improves, more people will be inclined to come in to the stadium. Several years ago, tailgating was not a place to be seen. Now it is. As the team improves, the place to be seen will be the tailgate before the game and inside the stadium during the game. I don't think turning out the lights or shutting down the parking lots during the game is a good idea because it will cut down on the pregame atmosphere. In my perfect world, we would all tailgate for hours before the game, go inside, watch a North Texas win, and come back out and tailgate some more.
  11. Interesting analysis. I believe the schedule is weighted the way it is to reduce travel costs. If you look at the soccer schedules, you'll see that you almost always play ULL and ULM on the road or at home in the same weekend, then Troy/South Alabama, etc. This way you can make one trip to that state and save money on costs. All of the other sports (besides football of course) are scheduled this way also to an extent, but it is able to even out in the other sports because more conference games are played.
  12. Three friends and I are making the trip. Hope to be surrounded by a big group of Mean Green faithful.
  13. Did anyone else get a card leaving the game Saturday asking them to vote?
  14. Keep voting! We still have over two weeks to catch up.
  15. Holly is now in 3rd place. Come on guys, lets step it up. We've won this contest before and we can do it again.
  16. Starting at noon in the Orange lot. Probably just burgers and hot dogs. We'll probably have about a dozen or so with us.
  17. Hasn't Channel 21 picked up these games locally in the past few years? Does this mean they are not doing so this year?
  18. This round goes through Oct. 9th. Make sure you vote 20 times a day!
  19. I almost always sit on the student side. Even though I have season tickets in Sec. D, I have friends that are still students and others that don't have season tickets but come to a game or two, so we all sit (stand) together in the student side somewhere. I can say that I did hear the "F Ohio" chant and "We want Riley." Both were unacceptable. Riley was obviously hurt, and you just don't do the other one. However, I did NOT hear any of the other cussing or chants that the others are describing here. I'm not saying it didn't happen (I'm sure it did), but at least it appears to be isolated in nature. Overall, I think the students (and fans overall) deserve a pat on the back for coming out in that weather and really being in to the game. We've come a long way since I started school at North Texas in 2002, and I'm more proud of our fanbase than I've ever been.
  20. He consistantly pinned them inside their own 20 and gave Ohio a long field. I recorded the broadcast so I could watch the game again, and the announcers were raving about what he did. Overall, I've been impressed with our special teams play so far this year. Much improved.
  21. Texas ranked 2nd in lightning deaths from 1990-2003. However, Texas ranked 29th in lightning deaths per million people during the same time frame. See here: http://www.lightningsafety.com/nlsi_lls/fatalities_us.html I think it has more to do with the fact that it doesn't rain very often around here, but when it does, it's usually a hard rain with considerable cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. It's difficult for us to comprehend rain without lighting in September.
  22. Always there, rain or shine. I sat through Western Kentucky two years ago. At least it won't be 32.00000001 degrees.
  23. Nah, it just means you have to drink it faster.
  24. What time will you start to tailgate ? - Probably around noon. Where will you be tailgating ? - Orange Lot. Who will you be tailgating with ? - Random assortment of friends, usually in the 10-15 range. What is your tailgating food? - Changes by game. Haven't decided yet. What is your tailgating beverage ? - Bud Select. Yum!
