  1. Ok there are several good places to watch games on Saturday, Most people would say Rusty's, because they have a ton of flat screen TV's, and with 4 or 5 different bars, you're bound to find one that you like. My personal favorite place to watch games is at Tubby's, they have a balcony which is a great place to see all the flat screens hung on the wall. Every seat in the balcony also has it's own flat screen TV at each table hanging on the wall (The food is all reasonably priced and very good). Tubby's is very popular though, so it might be tough to get into. The best burger in town would probably belong to So Long Saloon, it's called the Resist Temptation Burger and it's basically 2/3 pounds beef, Bacon, Cheese, and a Fried egg... it's pretty amazing. But So Long is pretty much impossible to get into during the summer when students aren't here, so I wouldn't suggest trying on a game day with all the students in town. Of course if you want a chain restaurant that has a ton of screens and would be relatively easy to get into, Buffalo Wild Wings is always an option. One last bar you could try is Kites, and while it's generally known as a Frat Bar, they just recently opened a new side that's pretty nice and has less of that frat atmosphere. While you're there if you feel up to it you can try the Will Ferrell burger which is like 8 pounds of beef and 30 some dollars. They also have pictures of him eating the burger that's named after him when he was in town last winter. Like I said just walk up and down the street and I'm sure you'll find a place to watch, because pretty much every place has flat screens. If any of you make it into town tomorrow, and are looking for something to do, you can go down to Purple Power play on poyntz, which is located on Poyntz Avenue down around 3rd street next to the Mall. This is basically a 2-3 block street festival with all kinds of vendors, and live bands. Also probably not of interest to you they will be interviewing Coach Prince and the KSU team. Also if you stay around till Dark I hear they have a pretty amazing fireworks display over the mall. If any of you are in town tomorrow night, I would definitely suggest heading to Aggieville as this is the first weekend that all the students are back, and it's after the first week of classes, so I can imagine it will be pretty insane (Oh yeah 3 day weekend helps also). If you guys have anymore questions for me, I should be checking this board a couple more times before the game since I'm basically done with classes for the week now. Ayo
  2. Thanks for reminding me that it's been 1 month since I've been on this site, so I didn't even see that he replied to my post but thanks for thinking that I got owned (if you want to call it that). Maybe if you'd look closer yeah the rivals site has a premium service, but it also has a free board. If you think I'm trying to get money for Rivals then you obviously have no idea how Rivals works. I say this because they actually don't want just anyone signing up for the premium boards for Rivals and only want actual fans of the schools to sign up for premium. They also have been known to delete accounts of users that are proven fans of other teams just using the subscription to get inside info on an opponent. I just figured that you would want to post on the rivals site which has thousands of users (meaning over 5000) probably more. All I know is the KSU rivals site is in the top ten nationally for number of users. while the scout site has only hundreds of users. Just saying if you want lots of K-State reply's you'll go use their free board where you'll have thousands of K-state fans to try to help you. The free forum on Gopowercat is on the message board index called "Cat Chat Board". Once again Jesse and TastyGreek, sorry... Didn't realize that I have to spell out exactly how to get to the free board for you but I guess I'll know that I have to baby you along now. Ayo
  3. bump, didn't want this falling off the board in case other people wanted some insight on what to do in Manhattan. Ayo
  4. Purpleblood man calm down. Realize that they're just joking and trying to get a response from you, it's all in good fun. Ayo
  5. That's odd I simulated mine and it had KSU winning big. Of course I've got the 360 version so maybe that's the difference. Ayo
  6. Probably the most used board is the rivals board for KSU called www.gopowercat.com. Kstatefans is the scout site and it's not as widely used but can still have some good conversations. And the ksufans board is a privately owned board, and just a warning don't go there if you're easily offended. But if you can take the punches and just go with it, it's a hilarious board and very fun to read at times. Also most of the users on the ksufans board have been kicked off of the other boards multiple times and this is why this board exists. So just a disclaimer if you see something over there that offends you just remember that this isn't a representation of all KSU fans and in fact I'd say they make up less than 1% of our fan base. So just take everything with a grain of salt over there and just remember that it's a board where pretty much anything goes and there's no attempts to censor the content (in fact I think it's impossible to get banned there). 7. As a KSU fan, we're looking forward to you guys making a trip up here and hope it's a safe one. First someone mentioned that it's a "Dry" area when it comes to tailgating, but as you'll see when you get here, that's a laughable notion. Basically you can drink whatever you want, and you won't be stopped. They do have police patrolling the area looking for people holding beer cans/bottles, so make sure that you do like a previous poster said and put the beer in a different cup preferably a solo cup. Another thing they will look into your vehicle to see if you are bringing any alcohol in but they won't search. So just make sure that whatever Beer or alcohol you have isn't in plain site and you should be good. Like I said when you get here, you wouldn't even be able to tell that alcohol isn't allowed because basically everyone is walking around with one of those red solo cups in their hands. Tailgating at KSU is a very big deal, and we actually have one of the best set ups in the big 12 for tailgating because we have tons of parking around the stadium. If you look at google maps you'll see the 2 blacktop parking lots on either side of the stadium, and those are reserved parking only, so don't try to get in there during game day. On the east side of the large parking lot is an empty field which you can probably see and this is first come first serve so this would probably be your best bet. Also this is the lot where most students park and tailgate starting 5-6 hours before kickoff. This lot always fills up though so you will probably have to get there 3 hours before kickoff to get a spot in there. There are also many other places to park on the north side of Kimball ave. and near the rec complex, but you'll have to walk a little further from these places. Make sure that you wear your green around, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of food and drink offers while walking around the parking lots. K-State fans in general are very hospitable and good to talk too, so just walk around and chat with people. Of course we have our bad apples just like any school so I'm sure you'll meet some jerks but they're generally few and far between (unless you're wearing KU stuff). Oh yeah don't wear anything KU if you don't want to get messed with . Like some of you are finding out It's very difficult to find a hotel room in Manhattan on Game day weekends, because we have many fans that travel from Dallas and even as far as Denver to come back for every game so your best bets are in Junction City, Wamego, or Salina. Finally another option besides tailgating before the game is to head down to the largest bar district per capita in the united states called Aggieville. It's home to 40 bars and restaurants in a 6 square block radius including one of the best sports bars in the nation called Rusty's Last Chance, which is actually one large establishment containing 4 separate bars. More information about aggieville can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aggieville . Rusty's isn't my favorite bar by any means, but it's a fun place to visit for a first timer. There's also a free shuttle that leaves from aggieville for the stadium during game days so you could park down there and then take the shuttle to the game instead of parking at the game. I hope this is helpful, and if you have any questions I'm sure us K-Staters will be more than happy to try to answer them for you. Ayo
