I mean this in all seriousness. Capable of what? Is the bar so low around here we don't even know what good quarterbacking is anymore? DT was sixth in passing yards, not in the top 10 in efficiency and had 14 TDs and 14 Ints in the Sun Belt. That's our starter. And we have three capable QBs?

I won't be surprised. I won't be happy either.

I love coach Dan McCarney, but...

I would give Mac seven years to get it turned around. I just don't think it happens without that many recruiting classes. Which to me means that this year record-wise doesn't mean a lot. You can blah blah blah about losing fans or running out of time but to me, continuing to add onto the foundation is the most important. His second recruiting class will be seniors in year five or six. That isn't enough time. I want to see how the seniors do in his fourth recruiting class. Patience sucks and is trying, but so is starting over every four years. If we don't start getting anything above lousy quarterbacking, it doesn't matter if we bring Booger back. -
I'm a fan. Will always be a fan. But goddamn I could use some good news from Mean Green Athletics.

I could be wrong, I'm more curious than anything. Have we ever drawn more than 22k past the game 6 mark of any season the past 10 years? To my knowledge we haven't. I mean butts in seats too. 2008 against Tulsa was our home opener. 2010 against Rice was our home opener too. Not sure about 2005. I'll concede our openers draw well.
-
We have drawn well in early season OOC games but did we even draw 28k against UH in the Apogee opener? If we are a lousy team playing a lousy team (or even a CUSA team with a good record) late in the season, the attendance will be bad. If it is UTSA or La Tech it is not going to change that that much. It's a problem that only years of winning will solve (maybe, we just may not ever draw a ton of people), not who our opponents are. Honestly at this point, it's not an issue with me, I've said for years the route I would take to get it done. It starts with easier scheduling and finding the right quarterback/offensive scheme/OC. No, I don't mean the Dodge way of all offense no defense. I know that having an all-world RB hasn't done squat for us. Take a look at the mid-majors in the top 40 on offense and look at their records. Then take a look at the mids in the top 40 on defense and look at their records. If I'm the AD and I think Dan is the right coach then I give him 7-8 years to get it done. I'd take a slow steady climb rather than starting over after 4 years.

How about we just look at the cup as it is? Saying that we will be drawing 28k with the likes of Rice, UTSA or Tulsa is delusional. A 4-4 UNT team against a 4-4 Rice team doesn't draw 28k. Probably not even 20k. And considering we haven't been 4-4 in 10 years that scenario is being optimistic. I'm not pissing and moaning about CUSA (although I do think Banowsky royally screwed up) but quit trying to sell me on close road trips and name recognition. Those are the selling points of a program not getting it done. In the end if we go 4-8 in CUSA, it won't be much different than 4-8 in the Sun Belt.

Are you serious? You want me to watch video from THAT GAME? I don't know what the rest of the video is and don't care. That WKU loss still makes me want to sports cry.
-
Comparing TM to the Unibrow by using stats alone....well.....I can't even begin to debate that logic.
-
I didn't forget. Just don't think he's been anywhere near the hype. Last year he couldn't lead his team past an under .500 WKU team. You want to blame Benford, fine. I think people make a lot of excuses for TM. He's been good at best. Rarely great.
-
I disagree. He's inconsistent and hasn't made much of a difference. You can blame coaching and I'm not saying we'll be better without him but his time here team-wise has been meh. Not trying to hate on the kid but I'm not blown away by 13 and 8 in the Sun Belt.

Spin this. Anybody. You know who you are.

They should have called it the Anarchy 12. I would've bought a t-shirt.

It amazes me that a sport so awesome as college football can also be the frontrunner for dumbest sport going.

Postseason success would forgive disappointing season

No No No Never No No No No Never No Never. -
You tread lightly when talking about my man crush.
-
Mitchell had 4 boards tonight. I really, really, really don't like to throw around personal insults on this board. But you're not very smart.
-
Ah man, I checked out when we were up and this happened? Calgon, take me away.
-
Anybody heard when or if they are having the 5k at Apogee in the spring? Last I heard it would coincide with the Spring Game.
-
Not to beat this dead, buried, and turned into lunchmeat horse but..... ULL scored 52 points in a nineteen point loss to Troy tonight. In other words the amount of points they scored tonight is less than the amount of points they scored against us minus the points they scored tonight. That shouldn't be possible.....yet is.
-
And in other fun stats- UNT scored 23 points in the second half. ASU had 16 points in the five minute overtime.
-
Well, he just missed a three pointer.
-
I'm following this game on Gamecast and late in the game and all through overtime Tony Mitchell's name did not appear once. How is that possible?
-
What's worse than a dumpster fire? Question, no info.

Game over.
