2800 isn't going to cut it. He'll need in the 3200-3400 range for this team to go 7-5. Defense may improve but no way they lead the conference. I'm hoping they finish in the top 6.

HUGE Baboon fan. Saw them countless times. Saw valve a few times. They weren't bad but never heard their albums. -

You obviously don't read other boards. Especially BCS school boards. I'd be thrilled with a W on the 31st. -

I think if he got enough touches, Jimmerson can be a playmaker. -

7.29? No wonder we have a hard time covering anybody.

Thanks for that Gray. Vito keeps saying he's not as bad as people think. My question is how good has he been? And in comparison to other CUSA QBs, not very good. The Idaho freshman went 19 of 21 (or close to that) in their scrimmage. Our guys went...... No news ain't good news.

Closed practices, scrimmages, and oaths of secrecy?
meanrob replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
Yep, and I'm still miffed I can read multiple extensive Vandal recaps and not one UNT recap. -
I can't read Vito anymore. It's like having a travel writer write about sports. He might be a proficient writer but there's never any analysis. Sucks for him to be cut out of practices but not sure we'd get anything different if he wasn't.

This QB race is wreaking havoc on people's ability to type.

I ain't this optimistic.

Doesn't surprise me. I don't believe this was some sort of coaching ploy, we just don't have a great QB situation.Whoever wins the job is going to have some serious question marks surrounding them. If that's DT so be it. Nothing says he can't improve and have a good senior season. His past performance won't lead me to predict that but it can happen. My whole thought process all along was that this wasn't going to be our year and we should get in a QB that was going to be here longer than one more year but deep down I figured DT would be the starter. It's still a new season and I'll be optimistic.....for a while.

Somebody asked if we had the worst coverage in FBS and the answer has to be yes. The perfect storm of the coach keeping the media out, lack of interest, a lousy beat writer, and close proximity to a major media market that doesn't care about UNT and you get the worst coverage of any team in FBS and I would say worse than most FCS teams. I just went to meangreensports and besides fluff videos about freshmen, there's no practice coverage. The only school I can think of that is in a situation close to ours is Texas State and at least they have some practice coverage on their web site. When I visit my mom in Bozeman, the coverage of Montana State blows UNT's coverage away. I guess I had learned to live with it until I saw all the Vandal updates and hear my friends talk about their school's camp. Like I said, it's more than just one cause but the effect for us fans blows.

I'm not going to lie. It bugs me we know more of what's going on in the Vandal fall camp than UNT's.

If you're wondering what starting a freshman at QB can do for your team, check out Utah State. Started a fr two years ago and he had an okay FR year. Last year as a SO he was first team All-WAC and led his team to a 10-2 record. And he's from Texas. Not saying that happens here but it happens.

If Dajon starts at QB (or even gets significant playing time), I officially have hope for the future.
