  1. Might want to read the article. If they removed his meniscus during surgery without telling him, yeah, I'm not sending my kid to a coach who does that. There's playing through pain, then there's what this moron did.
  2. Wow, strange timing. But you can't be a schmuck and get away with it anymore. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13533196/tim-beckman-fired-coach-illinois-fighting-illini
  3. Div I is divided into two sub-divisions. FBS and FCS. Div II is completely different.
  4. That was before the whole "closed practices" ball got rolling. I swear Saban does it and other coaches follow thinking it must mean something. If I was North Texas I'd invite everyone I could. When you guys used to have access the board was frothing at the bit in August. Now, not so much. I remember seeing Buckles a year before he was eligible to play. I couldn't wait to see that kid hit the field.
  5. You would think younger coaches/ADs would stay away from this practice but change comes slowly in that fraternity. I dare say a coach has never lost a game because of open practices. The NFL has fans at their camps and I don't see team's blaming it for losses. As usual UNT is a place that should be breaking the mold and instead we completely follow it when it comes to marketing, fan interaction, and presentation. Disappointing.
  6. Great article, not so sure those numbers are a great thing.
  7. Headline should read "McNulty doesn't lose job in scrimmage." Not sure which is worse, McNulty starting or that he's constantly getting shoved down our throat.
  8. The more I think about it, the more I think we will be better than I originally thought. That still has me predicting 4-8
  9. I'll have what you're smoking.
  10. I don't care about stars but considering the lack of UNT players on the pre-season all conference lists I'd say recruiting hasn't been great. Get more guys on those lists after this season and I'll change my tune. But right now I see very few impact players on this team. Just looked at Phil Steele's preseason CUSA list. Three UNT players total on the first and second teams. Buyers is one and he was recruited by the previous staff and even then, his being on the list is a little.....iffy. Doesn't speak well.
  11. When it comes to quarterback there is no rock bottom at UNT so yes, it can always get worse. I guess you can spin the walk-on statistic either way but in my opinion, that's not a good sign. Granted you can only give 85 scholarships but 15 of the 85 being given to walk-ons is too much.
  12. 122?
  13. No way to Pelini, Heupel, or especially Venables. Rest? Maybe.
  14. I was wrong about SMU but..... Akron 2005, Air Force 2006, UAB 2010, Army 2012 and 2014, Cincinnati 2014, Florida 2014, Fresno State 2005......I stopped at the "I"s. That's eight right there. Don't buy me a beer, hand me one at your tailgate when I come back for a home game later in the season. Here's my source- http://www.jhowell.net/cf/scores/byname.htm
  15. I'll take that bet. I think SMU was one a few years ago, i'll have to do the research later. My guess is.....7 in the last ten years. It sucks as a fan, but it's low on the list of RV's transgressions.
  16. Fits 98% of our non-conference games the past ten years.
  17. At the initial Mean Green Club event my dad publicly called us North Texas State. Hasn't been heard from since.
  18. Yeah. Hey coach, it's the most important position on the field, how about finding somebody that can play it. And maybe, just maybe, the stands might be a little fuller if we did have someone back there that people wanted to see play. End of opinion.
  19. I don't have any insight to add to the discussion, hell I don't even have an opinion. I am however tired of the constant stream of bad news continually surrounding the quarterback position. What comes after beaten down?
  20. Asked what he thought of his team's execution McKay once replied "Yes, I'm in favor of it".
  21. Didn't he and Georgio do a Petty cover on the televised coach's show?
  22. We stayed up! (Monty Python muted yay)
  23. Newcastle fan. Doubt we go down today but only due to the schedule. Miserable time at St James right now and no light in sight.
  24. I was there in the Jankovich days. Nobody was there. 1500 was a good crowd. I could hear my heartbeat when UC Irvine came to town.
