Ugh. Why don't you just fill up the bathtub, hand me the razor, and let me get it over with?

2008 a worse team. 2015 a worse feeling.

USM QB had 400+ yards versus Nebraska. Have you watched our secondary today?

I agree with the theme of earlier in the week. Mac is stealing money from us. Dickey's fifth year squad would crush this team. But what do I know, I've never ridden someone else's coattails to a national championship.

Watching Central Michigan-Michigan State. CMU is dominating MSU on the stat sheet but had two field goals blocked. Not coincidentally CMU has a good quarterback.

Everyone reminisce on your hometowns here

Spent a year in the year 90s in Aptos. Killed a few brain cells at the Catalyst. Ok, more than a few. -
Speaking of only at UNT..... Only at UNT is a highly ranked and world class program a detriment to the school. Or maybe I should say only at GMG.com

I hope we don't score a single point on Saturday

If you ever go out to practice (obviously not allowed any more) and see how hard those kids bust their ass you would never root against them. I'm not happy at all with the current situation but GMG!!! -

MGB: Dan McCarney presser notes with McNulty, Kirby video
meanrob replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I think Mac is a good guy who is doing what he knows and it isn't working. He's not the first coach to come in here and think he can make it happen here and it hasn't worked out. Won't be the last. It's why I'm hesitant to bring any anyone from a P5 program. They just don't know what it takes to win here. -
I'll let others debate how much RV had to do with Apogee but I'm fine with giving him a lot of credit for that. However... RV had nothing to do with our move to CUSA. Spots opened and they needed bodies (schools). Our location was more important than anything else. RV has nothing to do with TV contracts. CUSA picks the conference schedule and he has nothing to do with our away OOC games. The explosion of cable sports networks has more to do with UNT being on TV more than anything else. How much of the increase in budget is tied to the student fee? I have no problem giving credit where credit is do. Securing a few big time donations and making a few good non-rev sports hires to name a couple but no way he gets credit for everything that has happened during his tenure.

No, but you know what you have when you have the discussion every week about who lost the game? A losing team.

Our new aggressive defense is anything but aggressive

I remember one in the first half that did produce a sack. But from watching the game in real time we rarely did. And never when it was third in long. If he is afraid of getting burned downfield, I hate to tell you coach but it happens anyway. Thank goodness for Roberts. -
Aint happening. But he should start making a list.

Info, no question. Rushed four almost exclusively.

There's enough blame to go around. We're not good.

This whole "all we care about is music" theme is getting old. We have several departments on campus which are outstanding and go beyond arts and music. I would say what makes those departments outstanding isn't more "caring" from the administration but leadership and a history of excellence. We've had two athletic directors over the past twenty-one years and our return to FBS. One was an obvious turd and the current one isn't exactly inspiring the masses. I've said this for a long time and I'm sticking to it. When the day comes that we make a hire and that person does all the right things and still fails here then I'll blame our beloved university. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe any of our previous three presidents were a hindrance to athletics. Stop pointing a disapproving finger at other departments on campus for athletic's failings. We don't get our ass kicked by the Arkansas States and Rices of the college football world because our music program rocks.

Both Simon and Dickey were given difficult schedules but you could make the case they were fired for non-football related issues. Dodge failed strictly on his own decisions. Mac MAY be headed down that path. If you have Apogee, are located in the state of Texas, play in a league of your peers (which we do) and still fail here you have to look in the mirror.

Pretended to be American on of the best TV shows ever. Go back to bloody England Dominic.

Let me preface this by saying I hope the kid has a great year and does great things in his life. I sort of feel bad i'm jumping on the dogpile. This is said entirely in jest. But yes, McNulty is the problem for everything. Every problem. Everywhere. "Thanks McNulty."

MGB breaking news -- UNT athletics gets $1.25 mil. donation
meanrob replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Before the MGC the fundraising arm was called the Eagle Foundation. When I got here membership was 100+. To be blunt, it sucked. A few of us (with a lot of help from other posters on this board) started an outside group and called it the Mean Green Club. Mostly a tailgating organization. RV came in and the name was handed over to the department. In the off-season I might tell a few tales of some of the things the old MGC did. Never underestimate the power of a margarita machine. -

MGB weekly prediction: UNT will pull the stunner
meanrob replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling like hell for the victory this weekend but.... I fear society as we know it will collapse into anarchy if we win this week. It will mean everything we thought we knew really meant nothing. I expect us to put up a hell of a fight though.
