    Fine and Hall both had something from the start. Vizza wasn’t so sure about even though it was obvious he could sling it. I wasn’t here for Maher’s first game but people that were liked him instantly. Even Riley had a presence about him. It’s not a failsafe prediction, he could gradually get better, some do. Having said that, you don’t get some OL help, stop falling behind quickly and better playcalling and it’s all moot.

    I would expect him to have decent stats since he’s played from behind in both games. Neither one of these QBs pass the eye test.

    Yeah this board is full of people accepting what happened last night. It bothers me when some Johnny-come-lately blames the fans for what happens on the field. They don’t seem to be the ones that stick around very long Feel free to fix everything that ails the program, I’ll wait.

    Everybody has their own buttons but personally I’m more bothered that we can’t rush the passer, make plays on defense, our OL isn’t great, don’t have a QB, and don’t seem to have leadership from the players like we’ve had in the past. But that’s me.

    Over the years I’ve not been one to get on these game threads and react, especially early in the season. But I had concerns about this team before the season and last week didn’t do much to dissuade those. We’re down 34-7 at home at halftime to an above average team at best. You can talk about better recruiting classes, offensive coaches or blah blah blah. This stinks Better show some heart in the second half.

    I agree, very recently his offense has sucked. As in zero points sucked. But hey, hope he had fun in Cabo with Sonny.

    No sh!t, I’m not excusing him. I’m just saying how do you even grade coaching (much less give it a pass) when the talent isn’t there in the first place It’s all an indictment on SL.

    Or maybe they created a culture of winning and made good coaching hires and didn't let the "excuse" of being in the SBC derail that.

    This is my assumption how the conference works. Sure, the conference office doesn't have sway over how competitive individual programs are but maybe if the conference office set a bar for excellence, it would set a standard.

    I didn’t say it was a good idea but at this point any ideas should be discussed. There is no name recognition. Our TV deal stinks. We’re too big and far flung. We’re not competitive. Would I like a change at the top? Yes Am I naive enough to believe that would fix everything? No We need to do something bold as a league and half brained ideas like pod play won’t fix it.
