  1. The question is, do you want our staff doing this if there’s no consequences? Most of me says yes, a part says no.
  2. Forgot to mention, get Morris’ face everywhere. And yeah I’m a little biased because I was part of it but two things I’d do- Have an old MGC style get together where a coach or coordinator can talk freely. Not the coaches caravan. Have an encouraged mega tailgate area. Where there’s a green bus parked with a big smoker and it’s a place people can walk by and talk to fans. We used to win over people with our enthusiasm. Everything doesn’t always need to come from the university/athletic department.
  3. Personally, I’d get away from the whole inviting groups aspect of marketing. And while the games should be family-friendly, I think we need to emphasize getting grown ass adults to the games. Specifically the 25-40 demo, either local sports fan or alumni. Groups and ticket specials should get us over the top. The core base needs to be alumni or sports fans who enjoy an affordable and fun sports experience. But like I’ve said before, try it all.
  4. Have a consistent marketing plan/theme for the whole season. Do giveaways for the first four games at minimum. Emphasize fun. Do more than emails. Make sure the game day experience goes smoothly for Christ’s sake. Have ambassadors walk the tailgate and talk to people. Quit making everything cookie cutter. You aren’t going to chase fans away so try different things.
  5. There were cracks in the armor before this. Too many close games. CUSA was always going to be a one bid team probably. But get over your disappointment, this team can beat any team in the conference and we just have to be ready playing our best come tourney time. I don’t like losing but in my thirty years of fandom we haven’t had too many 15-5 teams.
  6. It’s confusing how many times we get within five feet of the basket and don’t shoot. Another nail biter, hold on to your pacemakers. Good to hear Hank on the call.
  7. Dude went 7-5 against FBS competition. I don’t know that one year transfers from North Texas changes that. Could be wrong but I wonder if in five years the same familiar teams are still at the top. And the Kiffins and Fishers are still topping out at 8-4.
  8. At Iowa when he came in I just wanted him to hold down the fort til halftime. Then he leads us to a touchdown. He always seemed a steadying force. That’s a great coaching trait to have. Best of luck to him.
  9. Nicely gutted out win. Wonder if it was emphasized that others had to step up on offense. Huntsberry and Ousmane ended up with 13 apiece.
  10. This reminds me of one of those rants that gets posted about the players don't play for the love of the game anymore and are only in it for the money and when you get to the end the reveal is it was written in 1917. Businesses make "clown" decisions everyday. So do people. If you think people in the South, the Midwest, and other hotbeds of college football (much less non-hotbeds) are going to give up college football and pick up another hobby, yeah, good luck with that prediction.
  11. Still a ton of passing around the perimeter. If a team has a big they can cover Ousmane with, they just concentrate on the perimeter. Not sure what the solution is, in a perfect world Huntsberry would drive more and avg about 15-18 a game and keep teams more honest.
  12. People complain that the kids today don't want to put in the work or don't have a work ethic meanwhile this kid busted his ass and put in the work to possibly have a better opportunity and those same keyboard warriors complain about it. The irony is fantastic. As UNTLifer said (paraphrasing), the timing ain't great but the coaches need to roll up their sleeves and find a replacement(s).
  13. We weren’t getting into the tournament without winning the conference bid anyway. Hopefully the late in shot clock decisions can be fixed. Just keep the course and win when it really matters.
  14. Never a doubt
  15. Embrace the brutality. You can steal that marketing dept.
  16. Marketing has always been a disaster. Can’t just email out a ticket promotion. RV would use other school’s marketing campaigns and switch it out to North Texas (insert cursive script here). The marketing is never fun, never original and never enough. I’d market this team like I were a minor league baseball team losing money. Nothing would be off the table.
  17. You’re generous, I’m saying C- at best. Even out the levels at minimum.
  18. Announcers too loud and game sounds non-existent. Amazing team, lousy presentation.
  19. TEXAS!!! (why the ?)
  20. It was interesting that Perry mentioned Coach Hodge several times in his postgame interview.
  21. 20-4 in our last 24 road games is unreal.
  22. Never a doubt
  23. Even though I have more faith in this squad than any I can remember, I thought we were cooked after they dunked to make it eighteen pt lead. I should know better, down by six at half.
  24. You can’t record it but they have games on replay. Others may have more experience doing that.
  25. Out of 130 options this would have been my 129th choice. Liberty probably being 130th.
