Were you even a fan back then? There was no Sun Belt, no Big West and a lot of the G5s today were FCS. We were an independent trying to fill a schedule. Were we overmatched? Sure but mostly because we lost a very good senior class the year before. Who would you have scheduled back then? Ifs and buts but I would’ve loved to see the 94 team play that schedule.

Kinda reminds me when the NHL went to NBCSports because of money. Hard to find the games and ESPNs overall coverage dipped dramatically. But not sure the overall health of the league suffered. If they go with Apple there’s no question the eyes on the league will go down. The real issue is if they have teams that are nationally relevant. If they don’t, there’s really no reason for any non west outlet to cover them. Also interesting to see if big time teams will schedule a home and home if the game will only be available via Apple. Not sure yet if other teams will follow Ohio State.

Tell me which mid major doesn’t have bad basketball at the bottom? Our league is pretty decent this year but like other leagues, everyone beats each other up in conference play.

This is a fools way of looking ahead but if we go 28-6 with our only loss in the CUSA finals….then watching all these 18-13 teams get in. 🤐

My theory is that one week break gave them some rest and a chance to coach things up a bit. Also some guys may have minor knocks and we’ll never hear about it.

We need a new arena, period. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy or cheap but the pit can’t be constantly upgraded. Or ever fully turned into what we need for a Div 1 bball program. The people in charge can determine how big it should be but we need it in the next ten years.

Until the media rights are signed we don’t know how much they’ll get. I’ll believe the lower numbers when I see them. And I don’t buy the Big 12 taking four. Then again I know nothing. But the demise of leagues keeps getting predicted and I don’t buy that either. Almost all of this is predicated on how the expanded playoffs work out.

The issue isn’t P5 lite, the issue is what happens with Oregon and WA. I think they are the only schools with the cache to be taken by the Big Ten. Keep those and you’re good, lose those and you have major problems.

I took classes while I was in the Marines and then attended UNT. Technically I was a transfer student. A buddy in college started out at a JUCO to save money then transferred to UNT. Us losers went to every home game. If you care more about football than the school there’s this thing called the NFL.

This is exactly where it’s heading. I’d end the SMU series after they leave the AAC. Not out of spite or anger but that series just isn’t doing anything for us. The novelty has worn off and even IF we could get a win, not sure it moves the needle much.

If we can get a big crowd and get a win against Cal…..4-0 isn’t out of the question. Morris and Co. want to make a big splash, beat Cal. And if Mosley and Co. want to make a big splash, market the hell out of that game. And yes, we’ve got a bad record for situations like this but you gotta change the narrative sometime. GMG.

I understand the newfound energy from our fans but we might want to win a few games before worrying about UTSA.
