Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on the defense "not being much better." Yes the numbers might not show it, but I have watched or listened to every game, and the defense is so much better than last year it is unbelievable. Keep in mind that the Offense is not giving them much of a break thus warping the numbers a little. Yes the offense has not looked good, but things looked up....way up yesterday. Dickey kept a QB in all game, and also Thomas got his yards against one of the better run defenses. 175 yards total rushing for UNT 76 Yards for Penn State 81 for NC State We went from 89 yards of total offense to 287 total yards (while holding Akron to 278). Also Arkansas St. (one of the Sunbelt front runners) was beat by SMU 55-9. I like our chances.

Another 4th down try for a Tulsa TD. This paid off, but was not a wise coaching choice. If he keeps this wreckless coaching going than UNT will win this game. -

If you are able to check info on this board than I would assume you have internet connection. You can go to www.thewordfm.com and you can listen to the game. -
Won againt Baylor the following year at Fouts 52-14.

I like that idea. I will admit when I was there most teachers would give extra credit for giving blood, and it got me to the blood bank. I would not have gone otherwise. (I know I am a bad person who doesn't like to give blood)

UNT/SMU where to get tickets early
0footballfan0 replied to 0footballfan0's topic in Mean Green Football
Just got an e-mail back from the ticket office..... You can purchase at the athletic ticket office which is located outside of Fouts Field. Our hours of operation are M-F, 8-6. North Texas Athletic Ticket Office Ph #'s: (800) 868- 2366 / (940) 565-2527 Fax #: (940) 565-2664 E-mail: ticketoffice@unt.edu -
Was going to be near the college later today, and was wondering if and where I could pick up tickets on campus. And a closing time of the possible ticket office on campus. P. Cobbs link http://news.steelers.com/Team/Player|205

Too early to tell, but the only close game I see is UNT vs. SMU. All the others I see as Blow Outs. With Sunbelt on the end of a rear kickin'. I think UNT will win, and that is about it. But than again...I know nothing, and know it.

Plumm, Keep in mind that the ratings for D1AA where it shows 20 above UNT are from Jeff Sagarin. I trust that like a I trust a trailer house in a tornado. I can tell you this. My boss is an SMU guy, and after watching UNT vs. UT he is more worred than he was before about his ponys. He, as well as myself, thought the D look fine considering who we were playing. Truth be told it is impossible to say how well we will do when you use UT as a guage.

Texas getting BCS notice via NT
0footballfan0 replied to UNT_playmaker's topic in Mean Green Football
Just an FYI for JuEv0splash UT started pulling out a few of their starters with about 6 min. left in the 4th. He then had a majority out of the game at just under the 4 min. left. With some still in the game until the end. I assume he wanted his starters to have as much time as possible on the field since Ohio State is their next game. -
Arkansas State tore down their goal posts
0footballfan0 replied to stebo's topic in Mean Green Football
Is this a joke thread? Army is rated number 111th in the nation. It would be like us ripping down the goal post for playing....well.....Army. I really am wondering if that is a current picture, because I cannot fathom them tearing down those down for winning a game they should have won in the 1st place. -
I guess I watched a different game. I thought all the UNT players played their butts off. But congrats to ASU for beating the number 111th team in the nation. Come back to the board and talk smack when ASU has a winning season.... When is the last time you guys had a winning season. I posted that as a little smack talk, but then tried to think back to a winning season. Looked as ESPN, and they only go back to 2002. (you did go 6-6 last year, so close).

7-5 I say ... 1st time in a few years that I walked away from the early "money" game with some positives. We scored as many or more points (against UT) than FIU, MTSU, ULL, FAU. The only other team you can look at is Ark St. and they scored 14 against Army. After that the other games do not count since they played 1AA. We lost something like 4 conf. games by 3 points last year, and the D looks much better than the 3 points per game differences from last year. Also the QB situation is better. Overall I think we have things to be excited about, but the game vs. SMU will tell us much more. Hard to gage against UT.
-
Wow. I guess I am too much of an optimist. I was very encouraged with our D considering we were playing probably the best team in the nation. Dont forget when we start playing SMU, Akron, Sunbelt that they will look like small snails compaired to UT. Remember teh 65-0 beating we took and then we went bowling, and this UT team is probably better than that one. Also the QB play looked better than last year, and that was even while playing UT.
-
If you look at the guys he had on the field he DID know it was comming. He just couldn't stop it. I didnt have a problem with that one as much as I did later in the game with the 4th and 2. UT should have kicked the FG. Mac Brown has never tried to stop from running up the score on UNT.

FYI...If I am remembering correctly ....He did better against the 1st team than Evans did. Evans was 2.0 YPC against the 1st team, and PC was 3.8. Cobbs stayed his average with the 2 and 3rd team, and evans went up to 2.8. I think the issue is the fumble. PC is the better HB without a doubt. But coaches do not like the fumble. Good news is that PC will probably go somewhere.

1st of all I have had a heck of a time finding some good UNT wallpaper. It is football time, and I love to boot up my pc and see a good UNT wallpaper looking back at me. (it doesn't take much to make me happy). Any links? 2nd of all you can download the Xbox 360 Ind./Sunbelt picture pack from Xbox live. Has the helmet and the new Eagle logo. (good info for you Xbox 360 owners)
